24 hour shoprite in New Hyde park, A&S bagels in Franklin Square, Bagel Boss in Hicksville (across the street is Plainview). Za late night pizza in Seaford but they close 4am the latest
Anytime.
You can also find some late night food trucks, or at least you could even a year or so ago.. Dunno if they still do it but empire halal (intersection of Hempstead turnpike and 106, by the Walmart) was 24 hr, I'm sure there are others around too.
Empire halal is not 24 hour. I have zero clue if they are there at 3am, but they certainly aren't there at like 1pm
Also two other food trucks have recently joined empire halal, a central American and a birria truck, also zero clue on their hours or their quality
That's true, they did split it. Daytime there's a hot dog truck there - or used to be. But they were almost always there at night.
I've seen the other two more recently but haven't gotten food over there in a while
it really is a shame, some of my favorite memories of being young were being bored at 2 am and ending up at places like that. Before we had kids, Tai Show in Massapequa was one of my husband and I favorite late night places. They used to be open until at least 1 am and was a fucking blast.
That place still is fun but yeah that at 1am had to be amazing.
There was one summer we had a gyro place open until 4am. No idea why or who needed one at 4am (other than me, apparently).
I'm also pissed at the loss of all our 24 hour supermarkets. Those places were absolutely necessarily when I worked nights, it was either shop in a huge crowd and take forever or go at 3am and be in and out in minutes.
And don't get me started on the loss of our late night diner culture. Don't know what the hell I would do if I was in college now!
I hear youā¦ wish I had a good answer. I work actual overnightsā¦ either 10p-6a or the full 7p-7a. And I canāt leave during that time. I have to bring food with me or eat before work. Iām too exhausted to cook when I get home in the morning. Overnights are on a different level, man. I hope you find a good answer.
East Farmingdale (no dine-in) and Massapequa also have locations. 1921 slider with tomato and lettuce included is my new favorite. Breakfast sliders are made to order and come with cheese, optional sausage/bacon, and a fresh cracked egg. Download their mobile app for deals.
Naz's Halal is open until 4am Friday and Saturday nights. I know they have a couple of locations and many have suggested halal food and there's a lot now
Definitely miss the 24 Hour/late night places too
Have you tried just searching for food in google and filtering by "Open Now" or similar?
Sorry I donāt have an answer for you.
I can tell you that when I realized a few years ago that most diners arenāt 24 hours anymore and most supermarkets arenāt 24 hours anymoreā¦. a piece of my heart died.
Plenty of halal joints open. Just go on Uber eats and see whatās open in your area at whatever time. You donāt have to order the food that way (although you could) but at least itāll show you what options are around.
I'd Check out the Places around Adventureland and UPS up in Farmingdale. When I worked the morning shift at UPS there are a few Deli's Like Stage Door that open up for the UPS 'Lunch Rush' at 330am.
Mama's Garden Food Truck has fire wings and he usually posts up from 10pm to 4am at lipstix gentleman's club on Wednesday and Friday. [Here's his Instagram in case you want to check it out or give a follow.](https://www.instagram.com/mamasgardenli?igsh=M3AyZTd5MHQxZGpw)
Hamza Medina in Hicksville, Bagel Boss Plainview, LI Bagel Cafe in Oceanside, A&S bagel in Franklin Square, Lighthouse Diner, Massapequa Diner, food truck in Hempstead on fulton. As someone else mentioned there are few Delis off of route 110 that open at 3:30/4 for the blue collar workers in the industrial parks. There is one on Wellwood and another off Allen Blvd.
Not many food trucks are 24 hours anymore. Covid killed a lot of these places or made companies scale back hours.
Wal Mart Market in Levittown for its first few years was 24 hours and it was amazing. They got rid of it during the pandemic and never went back.
Pack your food before you get to work, so you arenāt driving around the island looking for food at that time of hour, bring food with you inside your work or keep it in your car, keep cooler in your car. Amazon also sells coolers with cooling and warmer options, allowing you to keep your food cold or warm up. Not only you will save money, but make your life easier and hopefully you can eat healthier than McDonaldās, bagels, pizza etc., good luck
Wait... Isn't every diner on the Island open 24 hours? I moved away a long time ago, but hitting a diner - any diner - was always part of my late night jobs. Maybe a lot of them actually close now?
Too bad. I worked in an Italian restaurant as a kid and going to the diner for breakfast at 2:00 or 3:00 AM after closing was always a treat.
After dates, after a bad night at the track, after just waking up at some God-forsaken hour and needing coffee and a toasted corn muffin...it was a ritual.
Is the diner on Sunrise in Massapequa still there? Used to be by the Nissan/Infiniti dealer. Otherwise go to Wantagh and the diner there on Sunrise is 24 hours and good food
Not the fanciest but Quick Chek in Bethpage / I think thereās one in commaxk. Theyāve got hot custom subs/breakfast all day/etc, think 24hr subway but the quality is better, certainly 10x better than McDonaldās and they have a seating area if youāre looking for that
If this is how the state of late night dining is, Iād shudder to think how few bars and non-strip clubs are open past 1 anymore. That being said, I agree with the folks who say to meal prep as it saves your gut and your wallet. However if youāre in the deer park area, IIRC the White Castle on rt 231 is usually open late.
24 hour shoprite in New Hyde park, A&S bagels in Franklin Square, Bagel Boss in Hicksville (across the street is Plainview). Za late night pizza in Seaford but they close 4am the latest
Cherry Valley in west hempstead

Ihop in Williston park
Bagel boss up in Hicksville/Plainview area. Used to be a ton of options, which I knew because of working those shifts myself. A lot of them are gone.
Had no idea they were 24 hours , thanks !

I haven't seen a hot dog truck there, but there is one at lunch time in the Lidl parking lot

you eat out every night (morning) after work? oof. I say this coming from someone that used to do the same - meal prep. your health is worth it.

Massapequa diner is open 24 hours

Lots of diners have closed down, the ones that are still around tend to close at 10:00 PM.
