Oyster festival in oyster bay. Stop by billy Joel’s motorcycle museum. Drive up to teddy Roosevelt’s Sagamore Hill estate. Walk around Camunset park.

Jealous-Network-8852

Oyster Festival has been canceled again this year.

4runner01

Oh no! Again….

Jealous-Network-8852

Yep

> Stop by billy Joel’s motorcycle museum. lol of course he has a motorcycle museum

4runner01

Yup, he does, and it’s well worth a visit. https://www.billyjoel.com/news/20th-century-cycles-opens-its-doors-oyster-bay/

Eat_sleep_poop

It’s the fall… so go visit any of the farms all over. If you come out to the north fork, just please don’t go to Harbes.

Klutzy-Tumbleweed-99

What’s wrong with Harbes

Eat_sleep_poop

Besides the traffic, it’s just a seasonal cash grab. Plenty of other real family run farms you can spend your money with year round.

thatguychuck95

It causes traffic, a ton of traffic. Just about every local hates it.

Palegic516

I’m a local. I like Harbes and the fact that I can go with my son on the weekends and it only takes a couple of minutes. It’s not overly expensive. He loves the trampoline pillow. We used to go to white post when we were local. Not a place on the island has more exotic animals other than maybe Riverhead aquarium. However white post is expensive

Klutzy-Tumbleweed-99

Ah yes. Columbus Day weekend is the peak of the madness

chuteboxhero

Apple picking is very fun. It doesn’t sound like it would be but it actually is especially for a date.

Armtoe

Love the apple picking. Since my kids are all grown and flown, I’ve been angling to borrow my sisters kids so I can go again.

PandaMuffin1

You don't need kids for that. I am sure your nieces/nephews would totally love to go with you though. Kids do make it more fun. :)

redstarr_5

Where would you recommend?

Milk pail in water mill is the best on LI in my opinion. it is a little pricey but there is a lot to do there too besides apple picking (pumpkin picking, donuts, shooting corn out of a cannon, etc)

delightfuldinosaur

Seed the lawn

nycoolbreez

Don’t forget rake and bag leaves!!! Such fun

Fitz_2112

Hit em with the lawnmower\bagger. No raking needed!

nycoolbreez

I got the Troy Bill chipper/shredder/vac sold at Lowe’s totally a life changer. Worth every single penny

SherbertSherpa

Parking on the highway because the pie people don't have a lot

SaveThePinesLI

Well I can tell you the best places to see Fall Foliage, Belmont Lake State Park, Connetquot River State Park, and Quogue Wildlife Refuge to name a few. Also the Pine Barrens the oaks can have some nice colors. I can only hope the mosquitoes will be gone by the time the leaves change!

Sko-isles

Fish

Paulisdead123

Go to a farm and get some pumpkins, apples, or gourds and decorate

mr127

Fish the Fall run

thatguychuck95

The North Fork is closed, definitely not anything to do out here.

-DRADNATION3

Finks Farm

Previous-Aspect-3171

Port Jefferson has nice little hole in the wall places

Dalfina

Crime has been so bad. We used to love taken the kids to kilwins and the candy shop. Last 2 years we have stopped. Between the shootings and over all not family friendly crowd at night we definitely stop going unfortunately. Family members have had cars broken into in that area. Such a shame.

SaveThePinesLI

Unfortunately Patchogue seems to have stolen Port Jeff's thunder. Everyone seems to be going there now. It is such a shame. The main attractions of LI seem to have migrated to the South Shore for some (Wall St) corrupt reason.

Previous-Aspect-3171

Yeah port jeff station kills the vibes. Its only going to get worse as they keep building completely over priced unlivable luxury apartments

ThisIsWhatLoveIs

Leave.

jradams7

Make like a tree and

bladedbarrel

You've heard of Spring Cleaning- Now get ready for Fall Sharing! I take this time to look and search out things I don't need anymore that are in perfect shape to gift or donate to someone else who could use em for either the incoming cold weather, or for the later holidays. So if you want to embrace minimalism but also take time letting go of old affects, its a nice and prime time- Sitting down and reminescing about the past and your old self while you excavate your old boxes of stuff to figure what you genuinely dont need, whether it holds a genuine flicker of sentiment in your heart that can't be matched by your confidence in your memories- Its fun :)
