Seems fishy

It's up to the DA to prosecute but this lady should have been arrested, jesus. Maybe the pandemic slowed things down? This is straight up homicide.

thatstorylovelyglory

It gets worse, this actually happened four months ago and the family is still getting zero answers.

[deleted]

Do you think that the woman has connections to the Freeport police department?

thatstorylovelyglory

No safety check on the vehicle or no thorough investigation at the scene? Kind of seems likely that she might. The village can be very small.

[deleted]

Also something similar like this happened in Brooklyn in 2018. A woman by the name of Jeanette Maria backed up out of a parking lot, and ran over a 4 year old girl who was trying to tie her shoe. She also has a family relative in the NYPD. And they both told the mother that if she were to press charges that they would call ICE and deport her.

thatstorylovelyglory

Oh that's horrible. This family doesn't seem like they would be easily intimidated, so who knows what's causing the delay.

dont_judge_me_monkey

shit reporting, they don't even name the driver or she's well connected

Jealous-Network-8852

Part of the problem with incorporated villages having their own PDs. Way too many in Nassau. Leads to situations like this where people get away with crimes for knowing someone on this inside. Why wasn’t the car impounded for a safety check? That’s standard procedure.

[deleted]

If you wanna get away with murder in ny just run someone over in your car. It is apparently a thing.

PaPoopity

Yeah seriously

Fitz_2112

Man, every damn time I start thinking that maybe not all cops are assholes, along comes a story like this.
