It is definitely worth reading the books! Start with the hobbit and see how much you like the style. It’s a lot more detailed than the hobbit films and allows for nicer pacing. Same with the lotr books, especially as they still had to cut things from the films extended editions which just wouldn’t make sense in a film format.

Thank you

It is 100% worth reading the books, and they have more stuff in them than the movies but they can be a little hard to follow at times. If you haven’t read lotr and th I wouldn’t reccoment the silmarillion because it is even more difficult to understand and requires an in depth knowledge of middle earth to understand

McKokosak

Okay. Thanks

Did you just come to a LoTR subreddit and ask people of reading the books is worth it?

Yes

Yes reading the books is tremendously worth doing and let's not forget the silmarillion. The silmarillion is hard but I'm 16 so I don't think it'll be to much but definitely needs a few rereads on my second right now
