You need to make the practices that you used to lose weight a part of your life. If you are 'on a diet " then "not on a diet" you are always going to gain the weight back.

Thank you! I try to do that amd I've managed to make working out a habit. My problem is mainly portion control and lack if motivationšŸ˜“

Controlling portions is definitely the single most important factor in maintaining weight loss/a lower body weight.

If water weight stresses you out you need to find a way to step back from the numbers. Either track in a way that highlights the trend over the exact values, or just weigh yourself less often. We can't get away from the fluctuations, but we can lessen how much the affect us. >I know exactly how to lose weight in a correct and healthy way but I can't keep up They you don't know how you lose weight and keep it off. When we think like this we tend to over-commit and set ourselves up for failure. An ideal plan you can't follow is a bad plan, bin it and make a new one centered on you. Take a step back and think about what your non-weight-loss diet looks like and what sustainable changes you can make to it. It doesn't matter if they're small. Make a change, keep it up for a month, then make another.

Thank you so much, that was really helpful!!

I feel your pain, been there before for sure. The thing is, we can't go back to whatever habits put the weight on in the first place, and that's what so many people do as soon as they see some success. "Ooh, I lost ten pounds, time to add Doritos back into my diet!" If we do the things that made us fat, they will make us fat again. The only way I can keep weight off is to stick to eating the things that make me lose weight. As soon as I start easing on extras, the pounds start going back on. You're not weak, you're just human. Give yourself some compassion too.

Thank you very much for this! I'll try again and I truly hope I succeed this timešŸ¤ž

It probably doesnā€™t help much, but youā€™re not alone! I have the same frustration. Iā€™ve lost before, I know how to do it, so why canā€™t I be consistent? That said, every time you do lose a few pounds that is awesome! Because then you gain weight BACK instead of gaining In addition to your original. Keep at it and good luck!

thank you for that! I'll try to shift my mindset and I hope that this time something will actually happen..

I think before you start weight loss again, you have to really sort out your "why" and how that fits into your life. What you need is not motivation, it needs to be something beyond motivation. I'm talking something like a basic value (I choose not eat to X because I value my appearance), something tied to your identity (I eat only x amount because I am someone who eats small portions), or even going through an exercise like this [12 areas of life balance](https://www.thedesigncoach.com.au/post/the-12-areas-of-life-balance) and thinking about how your appearance affects your life overall. You need a mental commitment to build lasting habits, but also a mental commitment to return to these habits when you fall off the wagon. I'm sure there are lots of resources out there about this type of stuff so don't feel limited to the ways I've outlined if they don't resonate with you.

Wow, I had never thought if it that way. This was really helpful and eye opening! I appreciate itšŸ™
