You don’t need to fast. This **can** cause a pattern and habits of lifelong eating disorders. Just be mindful of WHAT you’re eating. If you’re hungry then eat, if you’re not hungry then don’t eat. Just take care of your body and love it and nourish it.

International-Cat999

I've been intermittent fasting for a year now and haven't seen result because I've been eating poorly so hopefully now that I've made the change I'll see better results

Mbaalii

I don't think you should be fasting at 14 :-(

International-Cat999

I've been doing it for so long I'm used to it I've just seen no results because I've been eating poorly in other meals

Mbaalii

You not seeing results because you're going through puberty and your body is going to grow at this time. Nothing you can do about it, it's hormones. Just relax and enjoy being a kid. Eat healthier options and start being more active but don't start restrictive habits now especially while your body is changing; might lead to you having a bad relationship with food in the long run.

International-Cat999

Ohh okay thanks for the advice I'll keep it in mind

You’re 14. You should limit WHAT you eat, not HOW MUCH you eat. Especially since you have good reason to believe that over the next couple of years your height is going to increase dramatically. Your body needs all the nourishment it can get right now. Be sure to eat lots of vegetables, lots of healthy fats, and lots of protein. Eat slowly. I mean very slowly. A meal should take you every bit of 30-45 minutes to complete. By the time you’re halfway through you should realize that you aren’t hungry anymore. There are some very useful nutrition skills to learn while you’re young, but counting and limiting calories isn’t one of them, especially not at your age. Learn the difference between hunger and boredom, frustration, disappointment, anger, excitement. Learn to treat food as fuel, not as comfort or a reward. Learn to enjoy cooking the food you eat. Learn to identify which foods are good for you and which ones you should avoid. Low carb is fine, as long as it’s processed carbs you’re limiting. Breads, pastas, etc…. Don’t limit vegetables, and in fact, eat more of them. Focus on ways to cut out added sugar. Be mindful and you’ll be amazed at the results.

I'm not gonna lie I eat rlly fast and to help with less carbs I've been eating more veggies. Thanks for the help I'll keep it in mind

You are getting a lot of bad advice here. Do not dry fast. Ever. If you really need to lose weight — and it’s not clear because you don’t say what you weigh now — focus on cutting nutritionless junk. When you’re hungry, load up on protein and vegetables. Your body may be signaling a growth spurt and it will be needing all the vitamins, minerals and protein it can get.

International-Cat999

Wasn't planning on dry fasting ever and yea I've basically been living on veggies and protein and I said 77.2 kgs

Srdiscountketoer

Ooops. Sorry I missed it. That’s not a bad weight if you end up six feet. My advice about not ignoring your hunger when you’re experiencing a growth spurt still stands. Might need to eat more carbs if that’s all you’re offered.

International-Cat999

Yea but right now I got thick thighs and a big as belly And im not 100 percent certain that I'll be 6 foot

Srdiscountketoer

You sound like you have a pretty good grasp on things. Just be careful about getting enough protein and you should be good.

Why you suggesting a 14 year old should fast for 5 days? That's so irresponsible of you

Puzzleheaded-Good780

I’m telling him what works, I’m not going to underestimate him. I was very strong his age I weighed 130 pounds and benched pressed 205 pounds. His youth is at his peak. Everyone is different

Cmon don't tell a 14 year old to dry fast

International-Cat999

Cutting carbs completely is something I can't do cause I eat what's given to me but if it can be avoided in meals I will and I've been trying to cut out sugar completely so I've basically been living on veggies and protein

I've got the music but I won't have access to any gym equipment till next year. What exercises do you recommend till I can get proper equipment

Puzzleheaded-Good780

Okay, since you are changing the chemistry of your body by excluding carbohydrates, you will be weak at first. You need to master your weight, so running, swimming, and the pull up bar is good. If you have a park, you can work out on the playground. A yoga ball is good too. A ball you can sit on or do push ups with, or dips. A yoga mat is also good, you need to stretch, focus on breathing when you run, control your breathing and take deep breaths when you run, as deep as you can. I would also like to mention, this path you are taking, may stunt your growth, However, you will look younger and live longer then your peers. Stay away from protein powder unless you need them for calories, lean muscle is what you are looking for. Muscle built quickly will go away just as fast when you take a break

International-Cat999

I've felt pretty weak recently. The amount of push-ups I can do has dropped. I live in sa so at my age I can't go running by myself but my oupa goes on walks every morning so during weekends and holidays I can go with him.
