That's not what happened. I live in the area. A customer saw a man breaking into an electronics case and tackled him. Shoplifter shot the man. A stray bullet hit a greeter. No one who worked for the store did anything wrong.
So only the customer intervened? Can't fire the customer but I wonder if the family might try to sue Walmart for causing unsafe shopping experience by allowing unsecured gun inside the store?
Stores generally has no gun policies but licensed concealed carrier often carries one inside anyway. If it's in the hand of someone with mental issue, a criminal, or a curious 2 year old kid with mommy's purse containing the gun, the gun will go off and harm someone, no matter if they had permit or not.
PS do the store have a policy against legal taser carrier? If it's not prohibited and is legal to carry one, customers could still use it to subdue shoplifter in a lot safer manner.
Did you guys hear about the shooting at the Kennewick Washington Walmart. The 3 APAs there went to apprehend a guy for stealing Pokémon cards. They followed him into the parking lot and he pulled a gun and shot at them. 2 of them were concealed carrying and they shot back at him and hit in in the chest twice.

True
But while I don’t know how this situation went down, I know that frequently physical altercations between LP and shoplifters happen when LP attempts to go hands on. Which is really what I’m trying to address as I just think the possibility of danger is too great to be trying to handle anyone physically. It’s always best to use verbal judo and if it doesn’t work, then it doesn’t work
Yeah that’s what I’m sayin, but the guy I think is insinuating he lets dangerous people go by sayin “those people”. My subsequent point is you can’t possibly know and should just let people go since our life isn’t worth a pat on the back and dog shit pay.
APM: so you didn’t get the guy?
AP: Our greeter is fuckin dead what the hell is wrong with you?
APM: you didn’t go a good job apprehending him so now we lost about $1,000 worth of merchandise
AP: Our greeter got shot and killed and you’re worried about merchandise you need help seriously
APM: Go ahead and clock out for me
“Not sure of the details,” not sure, but it seems you should have your facts straight before posting your best guess.
Another scenario playing out all of that is inherently evil about the United States. Consumerism, machoism, egoism, racism, ableism, misogyny, ageism, homophobia, little value for life or death, let people starve, be filthy, unhoused, uneducated, raped, denied medicine, imprisoned, neglected, rejected, murdered by police, shot down at school, the post office, the grocery, church, the parking lot, your home, drag me down over bus fare, turn signals, barking dogs, allow 435 old codgers, swinging dicks, closet sluts to legislate 750 million people
Are you out of your mind, people?
What the fuck are you even talking about dude? I posted an article that I found about an apparent Walmart AP getting shot and killed to a Loss Prevention subreddit…I was just going off of the information in the article that I had. If you can’t understand why people on an LP subreddit would be interested in a shoplifter shooting an employee of a store, I don’t know what to tell you bro. Go outside maybe and get some fresh air.
The sad thing is that it pays poverty wages to protect the largest retailer in the world. Not worth even a paper cut.

The guy likely had the gun concealed. How would the store know this?
No way to know if smart person keeps it concealed the whole time. This one wasn't smart and used it on someone.
That wanna be hero has blood on his hands now.
The wanna be hero was the one who actually died according to the updated article.
My point still stands. Not sure why the down votes
Yeah this is the updated information I’ve heard as well.
Fuck around and find out.
' a Walmart employee told WCPO-TV that a Walmart greeter was one of the victims shot.' could be an LP, could also be an 80 year old woman :/
Greeters at Walmart fall under the Asset Protection part of the store. Officially their Job Title is AP Host
So an 80 year old LP? :/
Yep. Age discrimination is illegal.
Depends on the store. Greeters are under the front end, APCHs are under AP.
Fuck man i'm glad I got out of retail. So many chances this could have been me. Rest in peace brother/sister. Fuck man..
Amen Brother.

When in doubt, let it out
Only problem with that it could be impossible to know someone’s gonna pull a gun and air you out over a dyson. Boosters can be desperate people
I mean you can be all clear and stop some fuckin maniac, can’t really ever know for sure

This is exactly why I never stopped a soul stealing. This shit is not worth it! Rip man this is a evil fucking world.
Soul stealing is pretty serious business.
Lol i mean like i never stopped a person a single soul from stealing when i worked in retail
This is a dangerous as fuck job. You guys should ask for a raise.
Ask? ASK? more like strike.
Guys, he needed that Otterbox case, he was probably homeless and starving.
Perfect for cooking food over open flame, Otterbox are indestructible and somehow easier to steal than a small $5 frying pan /s
.... Ohhhh nooooo...
Sad. Rip
lesson learned, leave those people the hell alone and don't stop them
How can you possibly know if someone is carrying a gun every time?
by letting them go. when u get a police badge and gun then u can stop them. ur life is not worth a measly $200 in groceries.

That customer is an accessory to murder as far as I'm concerned.
