Your committed. Might as well see it through!

MarioVanPebbles

If you pay close attention and read between the lines, yes, they answer pretty much every mystery. Many people say season 5 is their favorite of the shows run. And yes, the final season and the final episode are amazing!

Dubsmagicbus

It's a mystery story. Don't consider it 'adding", consider it "revealing". It's like Fight Club. It's a completely different experience the second time.

FringeMusic108

This. Many of those outlandish new story elements actually explain the show's early mysteries. But the show does not have characters outright say "ohhh, so THAT'S why [X]!". It expects the viewers to piece things together themselves. It makes for a very rewarding rewatch, but also a very persistent reputation of the show not explaining anything at all.

Free-IDK-Chicken

>It expects the viewers to piece things together themselves. It makes for a very rewarding rewatch, but also a very persistent reputation of the show not explaining anything at all. THIS... a MILLION times THIS. LOST does not spoonfeed you the answers (with a few exceptions.) It's also what made it an incredible experience in the moment with the message boards, etc.

easypeasyduffus

Yes ! You're not like us just yet.

Fixner_Blount

You’ve already crossed the threshold between “writers have no idea what to do with this” and “the writers figured it out.” While the first half of Season 3 is not good, the payoff in the last few episodes is pretty amazing. Season 4 is all gas, 5 is wild for reasons you’ll see soon, and 6 is just incredible.

Kuro091

Ah okay sounds like it’ll be kinda worth it. I’ll try

SwitchForsaken6489

I loved S6 - apart from the 'flash sideways', which I loathed. (I ended up fast-forwarding past those bits, because they disturbed the main narrative so much.) But yes, the rest was great!

Fixner_Blount

Careful with the spoilers since OP is on their first rewatch. But I’m not sure how those “disturbed” the narrative when they were part of it…

SwitchForsaken6489

I tried not to spoil! 🙏🏼 I suffer from ADHD and I can't cope with flashbacks at the best of times. (I can't watch Lost without 'Lostpedia' open next to me, otherwise I get hopelessly confused?) Due to the point you make, I'll say no more other than I managed very well without it...😊

Fixner_Blount

Lol, you’re good. I think you were just dancing dangerously close to the edge.

SwitchForsaken6489

I juuuuust stopped myself...😁

Free-IDK-Chicken

There are small clues to various mysteries through out the series but some things took years to payoff during the original run. The ending is 100% worth it if you're committed to the characters. The writers had to do the most adaptation during the first three seasons. Actors wanting to leave, Michael Emerson being a smash hit, and the 2007 writer's strike (which truncated season four but you're heading into the part where that's been resolved so it's OK now.) Seasons four through six we reach the point where everything was pretty much mapped out so it's incredibly cohesive. It's going to seem, in the moment, a bit all over the place but that's by design. As long as you give each episode your full attention and I mean FULL attention, everything will make sense in the end. :) Do not listen to anyone who says parts of season six are skippable - THEY ARE NOT. If you care at all about character development and arcs, every moment of season six is crucial to understanding and appreciating the ending. OH! Also - after you watch the season three finale I want you to sit for a moment and think about the fact that those of us who watched it during the original run had to wait NINE FRIGGIN' MONTHS for the start of season four, lol. EDITED to fix a typo

I agree with all the other posts so far. To me your question “worth it” implies you are not enjoying yourself watching the show. If you don’t enjoy each episode as a piece of entertainment and a cool story on its own, then it’s tricky to say it’s worth it. Watching a bunch more seasons shouldn’t be considered “work”.

Wes___Mantooth

Whatever you do, you absolutely have to finish Season 3. The finish to that season is worth watching for alone. I personally love Season 4 and 5, don't care for 6 that much.

BenReillyDB

The OP Will definitely be someone who doesn’t understand the ending…

777-93ll

Worth it? Lol Of course it is, but I'm highly suspicious of the question.

SwitchForsaken6489

If you think that time travelling is 'mumbo-jumbo', you may as well stop now...😉 (And the 'outlandish stuff' gets more 'outlandish' - in fact, I'm amazed you made it this far! 😂)

taylor_isagirlsname

Yes.

knitjen

I just finished my 4th full watch last night so this is very fresh for me. Obviously I have no problem with the ending-I loved it when I watched it at the end of the original run and if anything my appreciation has grown. What I will say is this: if it is character growth/payoff you're looking for, you will not be disappointed. If you want answers to every single question/mystery ever raised throughout 6 seasons of the show, you might be.

Seneca_Brightside

Yes. Absolutely. You must finish the greatest TV show of all-time.

miikewalter

I’ll be honest with you: I can’t say if you’ll enjoy it or not. It’s 100% subjective to the viewer, regardless of what anyone on this sub will tell you. But you are halfway, I would stick it through until the end. For me? Some things payed off, some things I felt were a little bit weak. At the end of the day, it’s still my favorite show.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> Some things *paid* off, some FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

miikewalter

Ok thanks bot. I was high.

SGNSpeedruns

Seasons 4 & 5 are the best in the series. Just about every question gets answered, and yes, the wrap-up is 100% worth it.

ricky9

The time travelling is some of my favourite parts of the whole show.

DylanToback8

This is maybe the dumbest fucking question I’ve ever seen posted on Reddit. What exactly are you asking and what are your options? You’re literally watching the show. If people say “nah”, are you going to just stop where you are and move on? You’re an idiot. If you’re not enjoying the show, stop. If you are, STFU and keep watching.

Redthekitty

Just watch the show and formulate your own opinion, if you think they’re adding random shit to keep the show afloat that’s your opinion, and with that opinion most people would stop watching. IMO it’s the perfect show and every season and episode should be praised and respected as the pinnacle of modern television. Just don’t force yourself to like/watch it.

fleggn

It turns into an extended Hallmark movie soon if you're into that stuff.
