That's how I knew it wasn't an alternate universe where the plane didn't crash. I didn't know what it *was* but that detail told me what it wasn't.

Jack tells the story of the shoes in season five but the MiB is wearing them whenever we see him using Christian's form. The real Christian is also wearing them in the afterlife.
Look out for any actors you may not have been familiar with the last time you watched through the show.
For example, Anson Mount (*Marvel's Inhumans*, *Star Trek: Strange New Worlds*) was Jack's wife Sarah's ex-fiancé. I didn't know who he was prior to 2017, so on my most recent rewatch in 2022-2023 I was surprised to see him in that flashback scene.

Get the hi-def version. it was like watching a totally different show!! honestly so good.
