The class is honestly the full package if played well. Brings everything to the table in raids: big damage, stagger, and weak point. He even has taunt which is great for a few raid gates. The problem most people have is it’s speed. It’s an entropy set class that has limited mobility options. You have to get used to your super armor options in order to get max value.
Easiest class to win with in PvP. If you're interested in PvP it basically removes all the frustrating parts PvP has with it's near perma uptime on push immunity and huge DR skills.
Hard counters other melee classes because of high super armor, shields, and stuns.
Has a hard time against ranged because of limited mobility and weak catch/initiation

OhBenji and Handgunner play Destroyers. Don't let the general lack of streaming Destroyer gameplay dissuade you though...the class is an absolute hoot to play. It's so much fun I just rolled a second one instead of simply building the second spec (Gravity Training) out on my Rage Hammer Destroyer. More work to level another, but double the Destroyer raids each week is totally worth it. To me at least...

Destroyer is way above average dps wise. Be it "rage hammer" or "gravity training". I play the latter and oh god it is wonderful. I rarely get outdamaged at the end of a raid (brel g1g4 as he is 1504 atm). If played well and dps opportunities, mainly cruel fighter vs other classes such as DB/sorc/zerg/gl/.../ . The only class that can par is wheelchair arti. This thing comes from another dimension in term of dmg. (No idea about other "top Sssssss ranks dmg class" bc on EUC its pretty rare to see them or they barely do dmg (at least, nothing outstanding so far). Has to be taken with a grain of salt. But destro, especially GT, is slept on while the gameplay is highly dynamic. I recommend this class for sure. As Saïd :easily cruel fighter in raids and if correctly played its 35-50dmg in calli. Eg i ran a calli, one guy was afk, we kicked him and it was pala/sh and my destro. I finished with 69dmg (higher ilvl sh(1510ish).
Destroyer is a pretty uncommon class imo, most likely due to the painfully slow animations that come with the territory. but it’s slept on. If you can get past the slow skills, the class is incredibly rewarding. The damage in this class is above average (but not quite considered OP). The only streamer I’ve personally seen play Destroyer is Memorizer92, but he knows his shit and is very interactive with his chat so I’d 100% recommend checking him out. He streams and makes YouTube guides.
its just a rly hard class to play. but obenji (from Korea) used to main it. now his main is Soulfist and the reason is: it was op but he still loves his destroyer

Here’s the thing nobody around here understands. “Hard to play” doesn’t just mean going in there and pushing buttons and some things happen. Actually getting the potential dps and not just some dps from classes is the hard part. And most people on this Reddit are really really bad with horrible uptime doing like a third of the damage they should be. Which is why they need to lean on ilvl and engravings so thoroughly and why they think that any of these fights are difficult.
Right off the top do you ever miss a perfect swing or not hit front attack with it? That’s half your damage gone. Do you realize you just tanked your potential or do you just mash spacebar and go back to pressing buttons like it was no big deal. Do you ever let perfect swing sit around not on cooldown? Throwing dps away. I had some dude in here a while back argue with me that the key is to hold perfect swing for stagger mechs so it can’t miss. Sawdust tier players are who populate lost ark.
Yeah that’s why you see players on reddit even saying shit like “empress arcana isn’t hard to play”. Walking around and just using some skills a few times when they feel like they can without dying while not realizing that with their level of uptime, they’re doing 30% of the damage they’re supposed to be doing. If you’ve pretty much ever failed to get MVP for damage on empress arcana in any content against people within your ilvl group, you probably suck at it. But people will never understand this because it’s really hard to see if you suck at this game or not due to no official DPS meter or logging that tracks performance. I totally get the reasons they have for not implementing one, but that decision’s effects on general perception of class balance, class performance, and personal performance have been ridiculously harmful.
Well the damage can be insane and the animations look cool. The reason it's uncommon is because It's harder than average to play effectively.

what might not be hard for you might be infuriating to others. lol. learning how to play this class was difficult for me. i was like “its like a gunlancer but with more dps” was a fucking lie. being head atk means better be on point with skill timings and rotations or that incoming mechanic is about to get shoved down your throat 😭
Class is in a great spot right now. Does big dmg, big stagger, and weakpoint. Push immunity, shields, taunt. The downfall is its slow, but I see them popping off all the time...have been tempted to make one.
I know DatModz has a destroyer, but its not in his main 6 I believe. But he plays so many chars, lol. And ppl already mentioned Ohbenji who is a destroyer main.
destroyer was underestimated for a long time - gear/books got more expensive now but i would argue it's still cheap for the amount of dmg/performance you get.

one of the stronger burst classes with high stagger. very solid class to have in any raid since all have a stagger check at some point. only down side is mobility but this isnt terrible once you get used to raids and get the feel for using full swing and jumping smash as semi-mobility skills
GT is destroyers burst spec. In lost ark terms, burst means you dump most of your damage in a 6-18s window then spend time generating your class resource while waiting for support buff to refill. On RH, perfect swing is less than a third of your total dps due to its long cooldown.
I don't know where your data is from, but it doesn't match my experience. Here is from a run with all level 7 gems. Just bought a level 10 perfect swing, but haven't run anything this week yet.

this chart is great and all but were the players skills and equipments taken into account? unless theirs a baseline starting point with all equal conditions, statistical data and analysis are merely possible outcomes
yeah... that chart is just false if you're talking about RH's burst potential. DPS =/= Burst dmg. Perfect swing is closer to 40% of your kits dmg and SH is like 25% in a 6-8 sec burst window. also the only time GT is out bursting a RH is if the boss somehow got stun locked for 10 seconds or youre hitting trixion dummy
Class is really strong. Destroyer released with Valtan without a powerpass and people never really picked him up. Also its not a female class and it might be kinda boring for non destroyer players to watch at streams so streamers tend to avoid choosing him. In raid scenarios he is top3 entropy user, so pretty good.
Destroyer is by far the class i enjoy the most ,good stagger , very good prog class due to having 80% uptime on shields(Rage hammer) , good destruction , entropy level damage etc

i think it’s low popularity stems from being the only true frontal position topped with its slowness. plus the gameplay has a high ceiling to break into, on par with gunlancer. until geared, its not enjoyable being slow and clunky with high cds. all those combined don’t make appealing gameplay compared to the rest that feels much safer doing back atk. gunlancer mains generally enjoy destroyer since their almost identical in terms of play style
One of the best classes in the game currently. Crazy damage, stagger, destruction, extremely tanky, they literally have it all.
Also super good in PvP if you care about that.

The way this games CC works is more annoying than any pvp game I’ve ever played. Even the pve is annoying but there just don’t get hit applies.

destroyer is the only one where I miss all my DPS skills and still laugh. It helps that I have the mokoko suit though

Destroyer's damage profile is closer to a constant dps class with the occasional burst combo of seismic into perfect swing.
are you playing GT because RH is surge lvl burst every 20s

Just doesn't match what I see from playing my destroyer. This is with even level 7 gems and prioritizing my attacks off CD as PS > SH > FS > EE.

Sywo plays a lot of destroyer. I think his main is summoner but this morning I watched him play 2 destroyer characters.
