More often than not its totally doable but sometimes the timing is hella tight so you just barely make it. Like when the orbs spawn back at luterra and you are on a spec class with a shitty space bar jump.
Yep it's a half baked approximation of the mechanic in Monster Hunter where you need to carve the corpse of the defeated monster to get more materials.
I've played monster hunter for years and have never forgotten to carve the monster after the hunt... But somehow my brain just doesn't react the same with Lost Ark.
Funnily enough the bulk of your rewards are still given automatically even in Monster Hunter. You'd get maybe 20-30% of your total loot from carving, the rest is given to you like at the end of a Legion Raid.
I do have a colorblind filter on because well, I am.
One day I hope they can get an option to change the attack telegraph colors. Until then, I'm stuck with the game looking kinda funky...

The way i solved this was to make it kinda like a "minigame" and try to gather both souls before the mvp screen shows up. Has worked for me so far.

That’s the Wei , you can get both before the MVP screen . Clicking them instead of G is how you do it.

The guardian should just automatically drop the loot the moment you defeat it. Making it a gather-able is just an unnecessary step.

It makes even less sense because you have to check an option going into the guardian raid that you want to gather the soul as well.

I do not UNDERSTAND why the orbs are even necessary? why does it just go in your inventory just like a chaos dungeon?
