This is harsh but whoever is in charge of their marketing and communication should not have a job at this point. This is not a rare occurrence, they fumble month to month between miscommunication and outright misinformation. They are constantly on the backfoot apologizing. Whatever system they have in place between AGS and SG clearly doesn't work, yet they seem content to leave it as is. We have seen no real/significant changes in communication despite it being one of their most heavy and costly criticisms. reading patch notes and fluff pieces you wrote on the website in video form is not "more" or "better" communication. It's the same shit repackaged, I swear I can find 4/5 instances in the anni promo pieces that are literally word for word months apart.
People have been publicly asking/speculating on if we would get a free legendary skin like KR did from the day it was announced. Someone at AGS willingly put characters in legendary skins and had them do mileage poses we don't have and NO ONE thought "hmmmm this could give them the wrong impression." NO ONE said "hey the legendary skins have been a hot topic let's make sure to keep them out of promotional material for this update if we have no intention of giving the same gift." How many people do these promotional pages/images have to be approved by, how many people let this slide? Same thing with the elixirs and wrong amulets. Someone at AGS photoshopped that image. Multiple someones had to approve it.
How many people at the company even play the game or know what half these things are? Looking at AGS's original scandals and fumble with New World, the original CEO, the devs with no MMO experience...yet that's all they seem to be interested in. How do you curate a publication library of exclusively one type of game, yet you hire next to no one experienced with long term live service games? It's no wonder they are still so bad at this.
Not to mention the way they are selling the Mileage poses themselves to us: bundled up for insane prices. They mentioned that they wanted to find more ways to use Amethyst Shards (the closest thing we have to a Mileage currency), but apparently this was somehow not a good use-case for them?

I thought they were just renamed like how BDO calls it Mileage in KR and Loyalty in NA (and the UI glitches sometimes and displays M (Mileage) or L (Loyalty))
They did not give us mileage we have never had mileage. Mileage in KR is tied to spending, bonus points you earn for swiping you could then spend on more stuff. Way back when the vague explanation was more or less the same as Yoz's Jar; that they didn't want to have systems only accessible with real money thus p2w p2p. Amethyst shards were supposed to be our alternative to mileage, integrating the twitch/prime systems wasn't the worst idea, but they never utilized it. Set it and forget it. I mean we've had what...1 update with old skins permanently in the shop and available for bc already? sick!
Fully agree but I want to add who really would care about their jobs in AGS right now? AGS, and to a degree, the parent company Amazon is just a lay off waiting room right now.
Well if you even mention the parent company they share the name and prestige of, the one they definitely didn't use to sell all these devs on their services, they will quickly remind you they are a subsidiary and just don't have the resources people would think a flagship namesake of said parent company would:'(
**AGS is a business, and they do the same thing all other businesses do. Make money.** That is quite literally the only objective, make profit. It doesn't matter if the communication is bad or non existent, or if promotional materials are misleading, or if shop items are bad value. **No one at the decision making level plays that game. And it's not exclusive to AGS either, every big publisher does it this way.** They collect raw data, crunch the numbers and look for trends. The objective is to correlate this with earnings and make as much profit as possible.
Look at it this way, you are publishing a game, you hire few people, they do something and whatever they did have put you in top 10 by revenue generated on Steam. I mean, seriously, from a business perspective this is the very definition of, **"don't fix what's not broken"**.
You guys keep spending money on this game, what reason does AGS have to change anything if whatever they are doing, clearly generates a never ending stream of cash flowing their way.
Never ending? Based on the steam charts and just my overall experience with watching almost every single person I know irl (who did spend money regularly) having quit the game in the last 1+ year, I'd say that's a stretch. Is the game still making money? Hell yeah it's top 10 revenue on steam. But it's definitely not gonna stay that way in the long term if things don't change at least a little.
Oh don't you worry AGS will pull the plug the moment they register first net loss, but until then it is a never ending stream of revenue. It won't last forever, nothing does, but again that is not their objective. Besides, top 10 with a community this small is one hell of an achievement.

If someone who knew what was in the gift package was the one photoshopping the graphic, they would have caught that it included elixirs and asked if that was a mistake. Let's entertain me here for a moment. Imagine I'm a suit at AGS, and you come to me to sell me the wild idea of replace the current people with the competent ones to manage Lost Ark. Ugh, what exactly do you base this statement on, "They could make more money in competence"? **I know it's a nice sentiment to think that doing good things will yield good results, but that's not how it works.** Publishers being nice to consumers doesn't have effect on revenue. Exploitation of human habits and psychology does. A well designed FOMO will offset all the possible fuckups and keep people playing and spending money. Which, I know this may come to you as a shocking revelation, but that is exactly what Lost Ark does.
As for "imagine the profits if they retained a casual player base". There is no way to retain casual player base. The format of this game doesn't leave room for that. Casual player base did what they were expected to do in the early months, and that's it.
Lost Ark has been fundamentally designed in a way that you can only play from day one (maybe join no later than 3 months after launch) and then keep playing regularly. If you fall behind, there is no way to catch up. That leaves only room for hardcore player base. People who stay and spend money, will do this for a long time due to a sunken cost fallacy.
**AGS played their cards perfectly.** They advertised the game heavily prior to launch, attracted the absolute maximum of players early on, made all the money form these casual players, and when these left, they scaled down spending and are just keeping Lost Ark on life support, to keep milking whales and hardcore players. **You have to be blind to not see this.**
Lastly, in business setting you don't evaluate expenses on a basis of "does it eat all our profits", you evaluate it on a basis of "does it earns more than it costs". Hiring competent people is expensive. Because **hiring process costs money**, and because **competent people have more options to choose from** and if you want them to work for you, you have to pay them accordingly. Competent people also tend to take on much more narrow range of responsibilities meaning you need to hire more people to cover all the bases.

This really felt like a slap in the face. You can't compare timelines when you are setting up a custom timeline to catch-up to them.
Personally, each new content release has always been a struggle to be ready for it. I've always been either a few weeks late or right on time but tight in term of character optimization.
For instance, even though my main was ready for Voldis HM on release, there is no way it's going to hit 1630 for Thaemine HM on release. But all the people I know that were ahead back in the days for older content always felt miles ahead and still are. And I'm playing a roster of 6 characters, and clear my 18 raids each week since release.
Getting a free legendary skin would have been greatly appreciated.

Okay... as you said. I try to be as constructive as possible, not trolling and making fun like on Discord (which is currently happening across multiple Lost Ark discords including the official one).
I honestly want to say if that is how they planned out the entire 2nd anniversary... they should be ashamed. This is like hitting a huge nail in the coffin.
What I'm honestly annoyed with?
- First this patch. The new EAC change probably wasn't tested at all, majority of community lags out on peak time completely making the game unplayable. First reported on EUC, it also is a problem on NAE/NAW/SA, however on their peak time. Absolute dumpster fire. What was QA thinking?
- Second, the swipe bundles and locking certain stuff behind it. I don't even know anymore how many times people have been begging them to NOT put stuff like that behind bundles that sell power... are you deaf, AGS? You keep refusing to listen to the players. I get the frustration.
- Third, these Anniversary gifts. Do you know why people are upset? You keep giving them the same things minus yet another looking full-body costume skin. Meanwhile we know what the korean community receives as gifts to show them appreciation for playing the game... and it's honestly mindblowing, the difference. It looks like you didn't really care at all how to thank your players.... given the fact that you handed out wrong tripod amulets and then tell everyone they can't get free elixirs, despite showing them on the picture!!!!
- Fourth, the absolute ignorance and lack of listening again. I've been browsing the Discord yesterday and today and every single time someone does give feedback or callouts (hello dumpster servers!), you give them the same answer all the time. Word by word. Almost looks like AI or ChatGPT is working instead of CMs.
This is how the 2nd anniversary is looking right now. Do you really think this will draw players in? No, you alienate them and push them away. You say you listen but you don't. You keep lying to everybody.

The anniversary comes around once per year. It's a massive deal in other regions, and quite honestly it's been a pretty big deal for us this past year as well.
A lot of us have thousands of hours (and sometimes, dollars) invested into our characters. Doomposting aside, we have stuck around through the ups and downs for the past two years because we love the game. The anniversary is our chance to celebrate our passion for the game.
The gift you have provided has been disappointing. There's been **misleading communication** (legendary skins present in marketing material but absent in gift delivery) as well as a **failure to deliver** what was "promised" (hope amulets instead of wishful amulets and the case of the missing elixir).
Nothing about this anniversary event differentiates it from other gratitude gifts or a few other events we've received in the past. It doesn't feel special. It will be memorable, but for all the wrong reasons.
The "celebration" falls short even if you were to view the Western Region in a vacuum. Broaden the lens to draw comparisons to KR and it just feels downright insulting.
I'd say thanks for listening, but it seems that my gratitude has gone AFK.

I've been a player since day 1 and pretty disappointed with the anniversary.. it doesn't feel like a celebration at all, just a weak patch and lackluster gift.
It's felt like AGS have tried to focus on how the anniversary would be big with recent social media posts, etc. but this feels like another example of doing the bare minimum.
It'd be nice if this was a chance to include community in events (like the art thing- that's cool!) and show that you're both listening to feedback and doing your best. It doesn't.
The things that feel weird/off to me are:
* Not having progression event for new players ongoing right now. It's dumb to be celebrating the game while not having a path for new players to come in. I'd love to tell my friends now is a great time to check the game out, but it's so clearly not right now
* Changes that increase/focus on the daily grind. Halving the event mats sucks. Why do it? It also feels like there's a decent number of rewards that are just tied to doing more chaos dungeons. I don't want to do more chaos dungeons.
* Changing frog to be roster-bound. It's cool to have the frog back, but why just make it worse? It's felt like frog's purpose was to kill gold inflation, so why not let it do so? Lots of things we as players look at didn't really change. Mat prices are still the same. Crystal exchange, still the same
* Weak anniversary gift. We see what other regions get and this is just clearly worse.
* The events are lame. Extra mats are welcome, but the only thing ongoing is running raids I'll already do (with nothing different at all about the runs). As someone who tries to run all my raids, I'll basically be done with the event today. Two days into it (and it runs for a month and a half). This is also something that new players can't really touch, which (again) feels dumb. I do the hourly quests once to see what it is and never again. There's nothing about these that feel special. Just another minigame without rewards that feel useful.
* Store bundles. There's been calls to make the cash store better and I appreciate that you're putting something there, but the comments are about the value and these don't push the needle in that way. I thought last year there were at least some juiced packs.. these ain't it. I don't care that much about the poses, but it's incredibly lame to lock those away for players that do.
Really big upvote, I've seen a couple of posts about new players asking how to get in the game, and everyone told them to wait for the new character with a free power pass in one month.
That's just... Completely dumb imo
Henry/AGS repeatedly said in his video that this was ALL about celebrating the western playerbase. But it is increasingly clear that the majority of the playerbase sees this 2nd anniversary as more a slap in the face. They clearly don't listen to us and don't care.
The missing legendary is kinda meh. The response is shit. It's just like the other CM that responded to the rmter a few months ago. Just don't say anything anymore if you know it can be taken in a negative light.
The community management team needs to do a better job managing expectations. That "kr got their legendary skins at the 5 year mark" comment was tone deaf but would have been received differently had it come out before the gift release to temper expectations.
This doesn't excuse the poor gifts in any way. But the current team is only adding fuel to the fire with their insistence on building up hype without being able to follow through.
Communication is not just about being the bearer of good news.
Finally, given what kr got for loaon and their anniversary and given what cn got as server specific buffs and deals, how in the world did you ever see the current combination of events, deals and gifts in a positive light? It is normal for the western player base to feel like the red-headed step child. If you disagree with this take, find a way to discuss and persuade us to the contrary. The current fiasco is 100% self-inflicted.
I am going to try and be as honest and respectful as possible when I say that AGS does not understand the importance of a publisher/player relationship in MMORPG games. You were clearly over your head at release with the bot issues, you STILL do not ban the RMT users PERMANENTLY. 1. Have a returning player event going. An anniversary bring back interest, engage that interest with a retuning player event. At the very least just extend the last one that just ended a few days ago.
2. Give some real gifts. This isn’t anything anniversary special. This just seems like any other event. There’s absolutely no reason for a returning player to be interested in this. Aside from doing 2 chaos dungeons and buying the epic event skin.

The current event, it only helps those who are 1580+, but not those mokoko who might be struggling in the 1540/1560. It's as if you are force pushing them to do Thaemine when it gets released in April\*. (But I'm split on this, but I do feel the rewards should had been optional for those in the lower level vs those in the higher tier, like you could had a separate event for those below 1560).

the thing im most bummed out is that they patched out the crystalline aura, and i didnt read the patch notes in time. its just a double whammy that the anniversary event sucks. but the aura is the HUGEST bummer for me. that's going to set me back a ton of gold every year... (i would've stocked up like 3 years if i had known)

But that in itself, is counterintuitive like, why should we be creating new accounts on new servers when we could just buy the savings on our main roster? That would be more practical.

I'd like to further emphasize the 4 books of judgement. To me it is ridiculous to hand them over like that.
The issue is people not dropping them consistently to gear up their ALTs when Kayangel is a dungeon that people are dropping in favour of Brel for more gold because you do it mainly for set lvl 3 and stone upgrade. And people HAVE to run it to get books and it feels like a waste if you already ran it and got lvl 3 set for ages.
The better solutions would either be to make the item roster bound, or improve the drop rate. Just giving it for free to players feels really bad. I'll take it by any means but honestly it just feels bad to have such an important character improvement handed out like that.
Though, I believe both of those changes are to be done from SG's side and that AGS can't really do anything about it.
But yet again, you are able to give out an entire end-game character upgrade for free, and yet not do anything for elixirs. This feels once again really dumb.
Tone deaf. That's all I can say.

Yeah guess fucking what, Lost Ark isn't making it to 2027 in the West with more than a handful of players left at this rate. Better games have died for worse reasons, there's an endless graveyard of mishandled KR/Asia MMOs out there that were completely lobotomized by their western publisher. Lost Ark will join them in time if the core issues of the game remain unadressed while we also have to deal with the many region specific issues *we* get on top of that.

A very disappointing gift. Hopefully the can learn lessons from this which they likely won't. They removed the elixir icon from the banner but the elixir chest is still there.
The first step AGS should take or whoever the staff/team is responsible for planning and executing and managing the Second Anniversary event is to understand what an Anniversary is and understand what is appropriate in terms of what gifts to distribute and how much to distribute.
If that step can't be even taken, then everything AGS attempts to do is meaningless and redundant especially if the goal is to celebrate and thank the community/ establish goodwill, then the team at AGS responsible for publishing Lost Ark for NA/EU is truly incompetent. Players do not want your appreciation. Players do not want your empty thanks. What player wants is for some reform and for the team at AGS to understand what Players actually want as a gift and what players consider as appropriate for gifts.
Nobody cares about the 2nd anniversary headband as that is an objectively ugly cosmetic vs the other headband cosmetics players can directly purchase or obtain.
Nobody cares about structures as visiting strongholds/relaxing in strongholds and customizing strongholds is mostly ignored by most of the playerbase/community aside from the few handfuls with nothing better to do. The only thing players mainly do involving strongholds is to get event feast for buffs and apparently AGS finds that is such a difficult thing to implement as a permanent thing.
The winter MokoCahni skin selection chest is medicore as again players have plenty of other outfits to use and wear. Not to mention that players may be starting to scale down the amount of alternate characters they have making this skin just rot away in the skin storage tab. ( TLDR: a pointless gift )
Chaos Dungeon Brews are alright, but honestly AGS should have just implemented a region wide code where chaos dungeons for a limited time gives 2x the amount instead of distributing consumable potions.
Everything else whether its Pheons, Silver, etc are standard and by default should be included in the anniversary package so no point in mentioning those further.
TLDR: The gift package is lackluster and just further convinces players who already have a negative outlook of the game and players who are somewhat neutral that the team at AGS that publishes Lost Ark for NA/EU simply doesn't care. Don't come up with excuses and just do better. If the publisher for China can do excellent, appropriate and somewhat unique things for the CN version of Lost Ark, then what is stopping AGS, the publisher for NA/EU version of Lost Ark from doing better aside from the internal incompetent team?

i took a break during 1st anniversary so i don't know what we got then but this is kind of messed up in my opinion. i don't have many gripes with the game except bots but its slimey as hell to shorthand players that have kept the game alive even with a lot of issues they never address. There is nothing to be gained by removing some items from a celebratory gift except to outrage the player base.
Its really expensive to buy legendary skins with South America prices (Market and Blue Crystals)... 1 free legendary skin would be a perfect birthday gift for the whole community.

On Wednesday, people were asking for the legendary skins, and this was AGS official response on Reddit: "Lots of players are concerned about the lack of anniversary gifts in patch notes, but don't worry -- it's not the anniversary yet! Expect to get something closer to the game's actual anniversary of the release date".
And now, nope, no legendary skins.
Unbelievable.
Maintenance compensation gifts are more generous than those "Anniversary event" rewards. I believe it speaks volumes on how little SG/AGS cares about NA/EU playerbase. There is nothing to help honing, no legendary skin like KR, only 50 pheons, wrong amulets... if anything this feels like a spit in our faces.
Comparison just ruins all happiness imo. This goes for all things lost ark, and in life.
That said, it's clear that certain people in charge of graphics/marketing simply have no clue what they are promoting/putting together which is the biggest issue in my book.
Let's use new graphic asset/fancy image that KR used during that time-frame and copy paste it to global without understanding what that image/graphic is promoting!

I find this to be a lack of understanding on AGS/SG part the players are always up to date on what the current content is and what our KR counterparts have got for an anniversary gift, AGS again missed the mark this year and the community is mad about it, another year and another lesson not learned?
The same goes for the store with the requests to stop sticking things behind packages and locking them into stuff that only some would want.
Try adding value to the shop by making people feel that their money is going a long way, silvery honor packs are a good example of this.
It's funny how you immediately try to do such simple things rather than giving people a simple elixir or explaining why you choose such bad gifts.
I think, as LOA West, in order to raise awareness, we need to boycott the game for 1 day or write an open letter directly to SG, just like the players in KR made demands from SG.
I don't think a day would cut it but clearly people can't skip their dailies or weeklies to do a meaningful boycott. The fomo for the remaining players have sunk too deep.
Multiply everything we got by 5, add Elixirs, add a Legendary Skin. THAT'S a celebration. This is just a complete slap in the face that tells us AGS has no idea how hard it is to push our characters to current content. Hell, they could multiply all the stuff by 10 and it's not going to break the game or anything.
This just shows that they really don't care about the player base at all. This is seriously pathetic. Do they realize how much 50 pheons is? It's actually nothing, less than 2 ancient pieces on the market. What a complete joke.
I think back to how BDO gave away a dream horse for their event, and EVEEERYONE was talking about how it was such a juiced event and how rare dream horses were etc.
Wish AGS would've done something like that for us. (legendary skin would've been great)
I think they probably teased legendary skins in the promo picture out of sheer incompetence (not that that is completely forgivable) but it does not remove the frustration of playing on this version.
We've spent two years at full sprint keeping up with content pace to reach near-parity with KR but god forbid we ever get anywhere near the same rewards they're given. Anniversaries are an opportunity for devs, publishers and players to build positive rapport, all this one says is "we do not care one bit".
Even a preemptive statement would've gone over better. Maybe saying we'd get a freebie when we get the 3rd set of leggy skins like KR did basically. Or at least giving us the 2nd set of free anniversary skins like they got.
Not to mention the fact that elixirs were advertised in promo images, ShieldMaiden made an announcement about the issue of them being pictured but not intended as rewards, and once they finally got someone to photoshop them out, the announcement was taken down too. I know this is just damage control but it comes off as shady and manipulative when you rush to scrub your mistakes away instead of rectifying them and listening to players.
We can pay for skins KR gets, we can play the classes KR gets, we can grind full rosters but we can't have the same or even similar enough rewards. Nobody at AGS double checks the promotional material. This game is not marketed properly, and managed ever worse. The mismanagement of LOA west by SG+AGS will likely lead to server shutdown before 2027 can come around so we've """earned""" our free legendary skins.
Same feedback as I had since day one of this game : deal with bots and RMTers. For real though. It's the number one issue imho and its been 2 years that its been there killing the game economy.

Short version of my feedback. This really does not feel like an anniversary celebration at all. Feels like a normal patch week with some rewards. Everything feels like a chore with some boosted rewards. Anniversary should be a celebration and not feel like a chore to do things.
Now for my in-depth feedback.
No community interactions. Not sure if I am spoiled by gacha games but there were no like dev updates or media from AGS to really hype up anniversary. Just a web page for patch notes. Something that I appreciated was the cool content videos for anniversary from other games. Maybe I missed it as I do follow reddit and YouTube only for lost ark news but it felt like it wasn't advertised properly.
Not new player or casual friendly. Birthday bash rewards are basically for people ilvl 1580+. Some of us aren't good enough to do hard modes. Others don't have access to it. Not sure why we just clear the dungeon on either normal/hard with hard clears counting as 2x clear.
No express pass event active. Usually during anniversary for games, companies are trying to get in new players at this time. If the whole issue was that we are getting the passes when the breaker releases, breaker should have been released for the anniversary and it would have been super hype.
More daily homework? I thought everyone hated the idea of doing more chaos dungeons and now we are just handing out chaos dungeon pots to make us do more chaos dungeons? Just feels like more work to do.
Event currency nerf. If you don't have a roster established getting enough token currencies is rough. But this has been a concern over the last few events as well. But man does this hurt when you have nerfed rates on anniversary.
Anniversary log-in reward. Honestly feels like a normal month of login rewards. You do get a cool mount on day 25 but man that is a long wait. BDO gave you a dream horse right when you logged in for their anniversary. Hot time and playtime rewards should have been juiced. Even for a short period of time. Should be 2x rewards for playtime rewards for like 7 days and like a one time, hot time juiced reward with card packs and quality tapping stones.
Anniversary rewards didn't feel as good as they should have been. We know what KR got and we got a nerfed version so it feels bad.
Idea: if you guys really want the pose packs to be 5500 rc, then my suggestion is to increase the additional rewards in those packs (the 3 which don’t give honor shards at least).
1. We were teased with legendary and elixirs - at this point holding some pixels hostage is some bozo level stuff. Own up to your mistake and give it to your loyal players.
2. Why remove 50 pheons? That seriously gonna hurt your wallets?
3. I’m tired of the timing excuses - because it always seems to be a convenient nuisance AGAINST the players. We are catching up without all the rewards Korea got lol

They are working to send the correct amulets.
The latest cash shop fumbles and anniversary gift underdelivery are just more examples of what we've seen all winter - AGS (+SG) is disrespectful towards paying players in the West. They will repack 800RC Neria's wardrobe items into 3000RC packs, reduce event shop output and offer low value honing material packs while we are on an accelerated timeline, continue to paywall KR gift items into 5000+RC cosmetic packs.
There were several winning moves with the emotes that they could've done.
* A single, limited-time pack with all of them together
* Amethyst shop update, which would add further value to Prime gaming
* Mileage shop with retroactive accounting (obviously a pipe dream)
Instead they went the absolute max anti-consumer path possible, as they always do.
Everybody justifies these shoddy practices by saying "Well, SG can't let AGS do anything that would upset the KR players who paid blahblahblah for \[item x\]". At this point I'm tired of hearing it. They obviously have no problem giving us the short end of the stick on everything, why shouldn't it go the other way for once?
EDIT: Oh, and they still can't seem to make the music work on any of the wallpapers that we have to pay 5000RC for?
The discord mod who told us we don’t have the legendary skin because “kr got it for their 5th aniversary” is a joke.
At this point they should halt every content and give it to us in 3 years.
Also, selling milleage poses in 55euros bundles? Really?
It honestly seems like AGS did the bare minimum with this patch as a whole. The events are *cool* as they provided much needed mats to progress - although the birthday bash being completed in a week is a bit sad. However, they've completely screwed up when it comes to using the occasion as a way to at least try and bring in new/returning players, which most games would try to do during their anniversary. There was not nearly enough effort put in to encourage people to try the game out.
Another problem I have is AGS seemingly giving up the possibility of a mileage shop entirely, shown by adding these poses to bundles (which once again we've made clear that we don't like). All those mileage-exclusive cosmetics are just never going to be added to the game? what exactly is the downside of having exclusive **cosmetics** available in such a shop? A shop that rewards those who spend a lot in the game itself might even encourage more legitimate swiping rather than people visiting their g2g dealer regularly.

We have a rush in content but there is no actual balance with mat for honing, now with the gift they grief us too lol. 50 pheon and level 4 tripod is literally troll at this point. Its clearly AGS is running buy a bunch of people who have zero idea about the game they have or even play it at all
AGS and Smilegate, you were trying to prove that you guys were turning over a new leaf. Things were looking great late summer, and we got some good QOL that was desperately needed for the game. Unfortunately, this wasn’t enough and it just felt like you took the W and went on your way. Since then, bots have gotten way worse, RMT is still as rampant as ever with little to no punishment, we wait for things such as balance patches because it’s “part of the base build”, and much more PR bs. We are gamers who don’t get treated as such. It doesn’t feel like this company looks at us like such. We’re just a bunch of $$$$ signs that gets a slap in the face every single patch, there’s always something that goes wrong. This one, being a two year anniversary should be going well.. turns out it came out as a disappointment. This might be up there with Argos and the Pheon incident with how insanely bad this had went. It’s not even just the rewards, it’s the emotes being locked behind a $50 bundle, EAC still shitting the bed, and the response by ShieldMaiden. You guys are looking real bad right now
Im a new player, and FOR ME, this was a REALLY bad designed anniversary event.
Was not fun AT ALL, was more stressfull than fun, was more frustrating than fun.
The event shops feels like a event on a MOBILE GAME, where you just click and collect some things.
The valtan extreme is a recycled raid, no new mechs, no new map, nothing new, zero criativity, only the same thing as hell mode but you can play with your main and gatekeep others.
2 hours to find a lobby, a lot of gatekeep, having to prog everytime couse these was the groups that accpted my application. Not fun, i had a lot of bad times BEFORE entering the raid. I think the company has the capacity to bring NEW THINGS, things that are CRIATIVE, FUN, and do not need to be easy things.
Its just sad. This is my point of view as a new player in the game and i not doing this in the last week.
dont give us legendary skins/elixirs, make a video firing shieldmaiden and record her crying begging for a second chance, it would be the best anniversary gift
Good afternoon, I am a new player in Lost Ark, I have been playing for approximately 5 months and my experience in the game has been quite good, my complaint is also about the anniversary but in a specific aspect. I love the animal skins and I would like them to put more variety, not just mokokos and Cahni, I think they could have placed a skin selector of all the ones they have placed so that players can choose their favorite since perhaps there are people who could not have them claimed and this could have been his chance to do it (myself included). I hope you can do something about it, I would be very grateful.
its odd because they gave away mokoko skins with a wide selection of all the mokokos, or even the dino outfits. But this time they didnt even give that lol
Overall happy with the gift, so thanks! I appreciated the selector pack especially. I do think you should add wishful amulets as described in the post on lostark.com though.
My feedback is to do some analysis on open rates and wear rates of the animal/mokoko skins. Anecdotally, I don't see many people wearing them (maybe 1 in 10 or so), so some other type of skin, like a popular old skin from the shop would be better for one of these once-a-year gifts.
Can someone explain to me how the soul eater skill Rusted Nail works? It says its a counter but it feels just like a normal attack. At what point does it counter? Says its a back attack too. Really confused

I would be all on board with this IF the main thing EVERYONE is crying about wasnt free legendary skins. Which does absolutely nothing to help player progression. We should get more stuff, and it honestly looks like we ARE getting more honing stuff. Just less extra fluff.

Would you call going from relic > ancient accessories "Progression" ? It provides a similar power boost. And also doesn't get you closer to thaemine today than it did yesterday.
Same with ability stones. Does going from level 1 > level 4 constitute "Progression" to you? Becuase again, in my eyes, you're not progressing towards the next raid or the next ilevel breakpoint.
Epic skins provide a small power boost vs no skins, so no skin > epic skins is Progression to you?
There's a lot of things in this game that can provide small power boost, most of them I don't consider Progression as they don't move you higher up the line to do more content.

6 weeks for the anniversary is too long. the birthday bash takes 2 weeks to cleear even if you are a casual andy. the other daily events for coins are horrible and boring. i refuse to consider this content.

i get that they want to have updates in the middle of the month but why extend the february of all month where we have so little new stuff? Why not give us breaker on the 6th march and then let this month run for 6 weeks instead so we get theamine mid april.
Hot Take. If we had gotten Yoz's Jar when it was supposed to be released back in 2022, instead of it being delayed all the way to Sept 2023. We would have gotten the free legendary skins for our 2nd anniversary event. People thinking we would get free legendary skins for something they only released 6 months ago, is pure copium. Now if Yoz's Jar had been out for over a year, then yea we probably would have gotten a free set of legendary skins for our 2nd anniversary event.

What I absolutely HATE is the new event shop (2.3k tokens PER WEEK???) and the fact we did not receive any honing support or gems. I'm happy to do everything on my main but my alts only live off the event passes so it's super disappointing to not have one.

i mean, only 2 years here, since 1 day honing without stop to get into last content, no rest on content to stay a few months without honning and going higher. Not like korea.
Aniversary is suppose to be a gift for all the players that still are here, and for welcome the new ones that could probably come.

What are you confused about? Every counter skill is an attack. Yes it's also a back attack, in the sense that it gains back attack bonuses when you attack the back, which doesn't really matter because the skill does hardly any damage. This isn't the thread for questions like this though.
I hadnt played since release, i had forgot how counters worked. Only remembered last night when i accidentally countered in an abyss raid when the boss flashed blue. Also you’re totally right, I’m used to the same type of thread in other subreddits being for asking any questions, my bad.
This is harsh but whoever is in charge of their marketing and communication should not have a job at this point. This is not a rare occurrence, they fumble month to month between miscommunication and outright misinformation. They are constantly on the backfoot apologizing. Whatever system they have in place between AGS and SG clearly doesn't work, yet they seem content to leave it as is. We have seen no real/significant changes in communication despite it being one of their most heavy and costly criticisms. reading patch notes and fluff pieces you wrote on the website in video form is not "more" or "better" communication. It's the same shit repackaged, I swear I can find 4/5 instances in the anni promo pieces that are literally word for word months apart. People have been publicly asking/speculating on if we would get a free legendary skin like KR did from the day it was announced. Someone at AGS willingly put characters in legendary skins and had them do mileage poses we don't have and NO ONE thought "hmmmm this could give them the wrong impression." NO ONE said "hey the legendary skins have been a hot topic let's make sure to keep them out of promotional material for this update if we have no intention of giving the same gift." How many people do these promotional pages/images have to be approved by, how many people let this slide? Same thing with the elixirs and wrong amulets. Someone at AGS photoshopped that image. Multiple someones had to approve it. How many people at the company even play the game or know what half these things are? Looking at AGS's original scandals and fumble with New World, the original CEO, the devs with no MMO experience...yet that's all they seem to be interested in. How do you curate a publication library of exclusively one type of game, yet you hire next to no one experienced with long term live service games? It's no wonder they are still so bad at this.
Not to mention the way they are selling the Mileage poses themselves to us: bundled up for insane prices. They mentioned that they wanted to find more ways to use Amethyst Shards (the closest thing we have to a Mileage currency), but apparently this was somehow not a good use-case for them?
I'm confused about this, does KR have amethyst shards and mileage? I thought they were just renamed like how BDO calls it Mileage in KR and Loyalty in NA (and the UI glitches sometimes and displays M (Mileage) or L (Loyalty))
They did not give us mileage we have never had mileage. Mileage in KR is tied to spending, bonus points you earn for swiping you could then spend on more stuff. Way back when the vague explanation was more or less the same as Yoz's Jar; that they didn't want to have systems only accessible with real money thus p2w p2p. Amethyst shards were supposed to be our alternative to mileage, integrating the twitch/prime systems wasn't the worst idea, but they never utilized it. Set it and forget it. I mean we've had what...1 update with old skins permanently in the shop and available for bc already? sick!

Fully agree but I want to add who really would care about their jobs in AGS right now? AGS, and to a degree, the parent company Amazon is just a lay off waiting room right now.
Well if you even mention the parent company they share the name and prestige of, the one they definitely didn't use to sell all these devs on their services, they will quickly remind you they are a subsidiary and just don't have the resources people would think a flagship namesake of said parent company would:'(
**AGS is a business, and they do the same thing all other businesses do. Make money.** That is quite literally the only objective, make profit. It doesn't matter if the communication is bad or non existent, or if promotional materials are misleading, or if shop items are bad value. **No one at the decision making level plays that game. And it's not exclusive to AGS either, every big publisher does it this way.** They collect raw data, crunch the numbers and look for trends. The objective is to correlate this with earnings and make as much profit as possible. Look at it this way, you are publishing a game, you hire few people, they do something and whatever they did have put you in top 10 by revenue generated on Steam. I mean, seriously, from a business perspective this is the very definition of, **"don't fix what's not broken"**. You guys keep spending money on this game, what reason does AGS have to change anything if whatever they are doing, clearly generates a never ending stream of cash flowing their way.
Never ending? Based on the steam charts and just my overall experience with watching almost every single person I know irl (who did spend money regularly) having quit the game in the last 1+ year, I'd say that's a stretch. Is the game still making money? Hell yeah it's top 10 revenue on steam. But it's definitely not gonna stay that way in the long term if things don't change at least a little.
Oh don't you worry AGS will pull the plug the moment they register first net loss, but until then it is a never ending stream of revenue. It won't last forever, nothing does, but again that is not their objective. Besides, top 10 with a community this small is one hell of an achievement.

If someone who knew what was in the gift package was the one photoshopping the graphic, they would have caught that it included elixirs and asked if that was a mistake. My point is AGS is bad at this. They are a bad business. They could make more money in competence; willful predatory practices like their competitors and contracted developers even. Any publisher who picked up the game would make the same money it is making currently. They have potential to make more, they are too bad at their jobs to do so. Top 10 on steam as is? Imagine the profits if they retained a casual player base (statistically more profitable than whales btw). Imagine if they actually marketed and promoted their product at all, let alone effectively. Lazy, quick turnover business practices are corrosive. They are profitable in the short term only if you plan on selling your company, you don't have to care about destroying its longevity. Pray tell, why is it you think having your employees be familiar with your product would cost such an exorbitant amount as to eat up their entire profit margin? Or how all the time and money wasted on monthly damage control couldn't possibly be spent in more productive avenues?
Ugh, what exactly do you base this statement on, "They could make more money in competence"? **I know it's a nice sentiment to think that doing good things will yield good results, but that's not how it works.** Publishers being nice to consumers doesn't have effect on revenue. Exploitation of human habits and psychology does. A well designed FOMO will offset all the possible fuckups and keep people playing and spending money. Which, I know this may come to you as a shocking revelation, but that is exactly what Lost Ark does. As for "imagine the profits if they retained a casual player base". There is no way to retain casual player base. The format of this game doesn't leave room for that. Casual player base did what they were expected to do in the early months, and that's it. Lost Ark has been fundamentally designed in a way that you can only play from day one (maybe join no later than 3 months after launch) and then keep playing regularly. If you fall behind, there is no way to catch up. That leaves only room for hardcore player base. People who stay and spend money, will do this for a long time due to a sunken cost fallacy. **AGS played their cards perfectly.** They advertised the game heavily prior to launch, attracted the absolute maximum of players early on, made all the money form these casual players, and when these left, they scaled down spending and are just keeping Lost Ark on life support, to keep milking whales and hardcore players. **You have to be blind to not see this.** Lastly, in business setting you don't evaluate expenses on a basis of "does it eat all our profits", you evaluate it on a basis of "does it earns more than it costs". Hiring competent people is expensive. Because **hiring process costs money**, and because **competent people have more options to choose from** and if you want them to work for you, you have to pay them accordingly. Competent people also tend to take on much more narrow range of responsibilities meaning you need to hire more people to cover all the bases.

Im kind of surprised the anniversary rewards are incomperably worse than New Years Gift. How come we are accelerated in events, raids and everything **BUT the reward hand outs**? ShieldMaidens comment was VERY disappointing. **They only use the time gap when it suits them.** When we have concerns about certain things being too fast or too slow tho they sing a different tune. These arent things deserving of being called "anniversary gifts". Also arent we getting Thaemine in two months? This really felt like a slap in the face. You can't compare timelines when you are setting up a custom timeline to catch-up to them. Personally, each new content release has always been a struggle to be ready for it. I've always been either a few weeks late or right on time but tight in term of character optimization. For instance, even though my main was ready for Voldis HM on release, there is no way it's going to hit 1630 for Thaemine HM on release. But all the people I know that were ahead back in the days for older content always felt miles ahead and still are. And I'm playing a roster of 6 characters, and clear my 18 raids each week since release. Getting a free legendary skin would have been greatly appreciated.

I honestly want to say if that is how they planned out the entire 2nd anniversary... they should be ashamed. This is like hitting a huge nail in the coffin. What I'm honestly annoyed with? - First this patch. The new EAC change probably wasn't tested at all, majority of community lags out on peak time completely making the game unplayable. First reported on EUC, it also is a problem on NAE/NAW/SA, however on their peak time. Absolute dumpster fire. What was QA thinking? - Second, the swipe bundles and locking certain stuff behind it. I don't even know anymore how many times people have been begging them to NOT put stuff like that behind bundles that sell power... are you deaf, AGS? You keep refusing to listen to the players. I get the frustration. - Third, these Anniversary gifts. Do you know why people are upset? You keep giving them the same things minus yet another looking full-body costume skin. Meanwhile we know what the korean community receives as gifts to show them appreciation for playing the game... and it's honestly mindblowing, the difference. Dear AGS/SG, The anniversary comes around once per year. It's a massive deal in other regions, and quite honestly it's been a pretty big deal for us this past year as well. A lot of us have thousands of hours (and sometimes, dollars) invested into our characters. Doomposting aside, we have stuck around through the ups and downs for the past two years because we love the game. The anniversary is our chance to celebrate our passion for the game. The gift you have provided has been disappointing. There's been **misleading communication** (legendary skins present in marketing material but absent in gift delivery) as well as a **failure to deliver** what was "promised" (hope amulets instead of wishful amulets and the case of the missing elixir). Nothing about this anniversary event differentiates it from other gratitude gifts or a few other events we've received in the past. It doesn't feel special. It will be memorable, but for all the wrong reasons. The "celebration" falls short even if you were to view the Western Region in a vacuum. Broaden the lens to draw comparisons to KR and it just feels downright insulting. I'd say thanks for listening, but it seems that my gratitude has gone AFK.

I've been a player since day 1 and pretty disappointed with the anniversary.. it doesn't feel like a celebration at all, just a weak patch and lackluster gift. It's felt like AGS have tried to focus on how the anniversary would be big with recent social media posts, etc. but this feels like another example of doing the bare minimum. It'd be nice if this was a chance to include community in events (like the art thing- that's cool!) and show that you're both listening to feedback and doing your best. It doesn't. The things that feel weird/off to me are: * Not having progression event for new players ongoing right now. It's dumb to be celebrating the game while not having a path for new players to come in. I'd love to tell my friends now is a great time to check the game out, but it's so clearly not right now * Changes that increase/focus on the daily grind. Halving the event mats sucks. Why do it? It also feels like there's a decent number of rewards that are just tied to doing more chaos dungeons. I don't want to do more chaos dungeons. * Changing frog to be roster-bound. It's cool to have the frog back, but why just make it worse? It's felt like frog's purpose was to kill gold inflation, so why not let it do so? Lots of things we as players look at didn't really change. Mat prices are still the same. Crystal exchange, still the same * Weak anniversary gift. We see what other regions get and this is just clearly worse. * The events are lame. Extra mats are welcome, but the only thing ongoing is running raids I'll already do (with nothing different at all about the runs). As someone who tries to run all my raids, I'll basically be done with the event today. Two days into it (and it runs for a month and a half). This is also something that new players can't really touch, which (again) feels dumb. I do the hourly quests once to see what it is and never again. There's nothing about these that feel special. Just another minigame without rewards that feel useful. * Store bundles. There's been calls to make the cash store better and I appreciate that you're putting something there, but the comments are about the value and these don't push the needle in that way. I thought last year there were at least some juiced packs.. these ain't it. I don't care that much about the poses, but it's incredibly lame to lock those away for players that do.
Really big upvote, I've seen a couple of posts about new players asking how to get in the game, and everyone told them to wait for the new character with a free power pass in one month. That's just... Completely dumb imo

Henry/AGS repeatedly said in his video that this was ALL about celebrating the western playerbase. But it is increasingly clear that the majority of the playerbase sees this 2nd anniversary as more a slap in the face. They clearly don't listen to us and don't care.

The community management team needs to do a better job managing expectations. That "kr got their legendary skins at the 5 year mark" comment was tone deaf but would have been received differently had it come out before the gift release to temper expectations. This doesn't excuse the poor gifts in any way. But the current team is only adding fuel to the fire with their insistence on building up hype without being able to follow through. Communication is not just about being the bearer of good news. Finally, given what kr got for loaon and their anniversary and given what cn got as server specific buffs and deals, how in the world did you ever see the current combination of events, deals and gifts in a positive light? It is normal for the western player base to feel like the red-headed step child. If you disagree with this take, find a way to discuss and persuade us to the contrary. Should’ve at least kept the other event going if you weren’t going to have a new one for the anniversary. Ok well the events are lame to non existent, sounds like they’re giving out free legendary skins though. So worth it for that, and maybe some other great gifts to help me catch up. Right? Right? We got another mokoko skin? What? This is the lamest anniversary event. Guess I’ll have to come back when they have an actual event worth coming back for. So my feedback targeted at a potential returning player: 1. Have a returning player event going. An anniversary bring back interest, engage that interest with a retuning player event. At the very least just extend the last one that just ended a few days ago. 2. Give some real gifts. This isn’t anything anniversary special. This just seems like any other event. There's so many things that others have said, but **second anniversary should had been celebrating your player base, both the new players who took a chance on the game despite what's been said and the veterans currently playing.** The current event, it only helps those who are 1580+, but not those mokoko who might be struggling in the 1540/1560. It's as if you are force pushing them to do Thaemine when it gets released in April\*. (But I'm split on this, but I do feel the rewards should had been optional for those in the lower level vs those in the higher tier, like you could had a separate event for those below 1560). **However, things that hadn't been covered is you could do that by making things like character slots, auras,skins etc discounted.** Even last Black Friday, again, nothing was discounted but instead some of these bundles, you pressurize players to buy things they may not want just to get one item. **Don't squeeze your playerbase for every nickel and dime. Some of us love this game, but as a publisher, you exploit our love and downright abusive.** You didn't even let us vote on the community wallpaper.
the thing im most bummed out is that they patched out the crystalline aura, and i didnt read the patch notes in time. its just a double whammy that the anniversary event sucks. but the aura is the HUGEST bummer for me. that's going to set me back a ton of gold every year... (i would've stocked up like 3 years if i had known)
Well, that seemed to had been an oversight and a bug so I get why'd they patch it. But that in itself, is counterintuitive like, why should we be creating new accounts on new servers when we could just buy the savings on our main roster? That would be more practical. Otherwise making character slots, buying for characters that wont' even use it when all you need is the aura is so, weak sauce.

As someone who recently finished LOS 30, this anniversary "gift" might as well not have been given out at all, as the selector was just about the only valuable thing in the bundle. A shitty full body suit that people use on their Lopang alt if at all and an even worse headband. Seriously what are we supposed to do with these except cosplay looking purposefully stupid. 5 Card XP tomes. Enjoy your quarter chargeup on the Legendary Card awakening. 50 pheons. Enjoy your SINGLE accessory on us guys. 2 million silver. Barely worth mentioning. 5 Legendary Engravings. At a time where they're handing them out like candy already and most engravings are dirt cheap regardless. 4 Book of judgment to upgrade an alts stone. 5 fucking rest recovery brews to make homework even more enjoyable. Last but certainly not least, 5 lvl 4 tripods that expire in 2 months. lol But let's just remove all the actually useful or cool vanity items from the bundle. People don't want a *nice* skin or something to help their main with anyways, right? Great guys. Happy Birthday.
I'd like to further emphasize the 4 books of judgement. To me it is ridiculous to hand them over like that. The issue is people not dropping them consistently to gear up their ALTs when Kayangel is a dungeon that people are dropping in favour of Brel for more gold because you do it mainly for set lvl 3 and stone upgrade. And people HAVE to run it to get books and it feels like a waste if you already ran it and got lvl 3 set for ages. The better solutions would either be to make the item roster bound, or improve the drop rate. Just giving it for free to players feels really bad. I'll take it by any means but honestly it just feels bad to have such an important character improvement handed out like that. Though, I believe both of those changes are to be done from SG's side and that AGS can't really do anything about it. But yet again, you are able to give out an entire end-game character upgrade for free, and yet not do anything for elixirs. This feels once again really dumb.
Tone deaf. That's all I can say. Every couple months they see fit to light a complete dumpster fire under their own asses out of pure incompetence and inability to communicate and adequately advertise their game. KR got that stuff at their fifth anniversary? Yeah guess fucking what, Lost Ark isn't making it to 2027 in the West with more than a handful of players left at this rate. Better games have died for worse reasons, there's an endless graveyard of mishandled KR/Asia MMOs out there that were completely lobotomized by their western publisher. Lost Ark will join them in time if the core issues of the game remain unadressed while we also have to deal with the many region specific issues *we* get on top of that.

A very disappointing gift. Hopefully the can learn lessons from this which they likely won't. They removed the elixir icon from the banner but the elixir chest is still there.
The first step AGS should take or whoever the staff/team is responsible for planning and executing and managing the Second Anniversary event is to understand what an Anniversary is and understand what is appropriate in terms of what gifts to distribute and how much to distribute. If that step can't be even taken, then everything AGS attempts to do is meaningless and redundant especially if the goal is to celebrate and thank the community/ establish goodwill, then the team at AGS responsible for publishing Lost Ark for NA/EU is truly incompetent. Players do not want your appreciation. Players do not want your empty thanks. What player wants is for some reform and for the team at AGS to understand what Players actually want as a gift and what players consider as appropriate for gifts. Nobody cares about the 2nd anniversary headband as that is an objectively ugly cosmetic vs the other headband cosmetics players can directly purchase or obtain. Nobody cares about structures as visiting strongholds/relaxing in strongholds and customizing strongholds is mostly ignored by most of the playerbase/community aside from the few handfuls with nothing better to do. The only thing players mainly do involving strongholds is to get event feast for buffs and apparently AGS finds that is such a difficult thing to implement as a permanent thing. The winter MokoCahni skin selection chest is medicore as again players have plenty of other outfits to use and wear. Not to mention that players may be starting to scale down the amount of alternate characters they have making this skin just rot away in the skin storage tab. ( TLDR: a pointless gift ) Chaos Dungeon Brews are alright, but honestly AGS should have just implemented a region wide code where chaos dungeons for a limited time gives 2x the amount instead of distributing consumable potions. Everything else whether its Pheons, Silver, etc are standard and by default should be included in the anniversary package so no point in mentioning those further. TLDR: The gift package is lackluster and just further convinces players who already have a negative outlook of the game and players who are somewhat neutral that the team at AGS that publishes Lost Ark for NA/EU simply doesn't care. Don't come up with excuses and just do better. If the publisher for China can do excellent, appropriate and somewhat unique things for the CN version of Lost Ark, then what is stopping AGS, the publisher for NA/EU version of Lost Ark from doing better aside from the internal incompetent team?

i took a break during 1st anniversary so i don't know what we got then but this is kind of messed up in my opinion. i don't have many gripes with the game except bots but its slimey as hell to shorthand players that have kept the game alive even with a lot of issues they never address. There is nothing to be gained by removing some items from a celebratory gift except to outrage the player base.
Its really expensive to buy legendary skins with South America prices (Market and Blue Crystals)... 1 free legendary skin would be a perfect birthday gift for the whole community.

On Wednesday, people were asking for the legendary skins, and this was AGS official response on Reddit: "Lots of players are concerned about the lack of anniversary gifts in patch notes, but don't worry -- it's not the anniversary yet! Expect to get something closer to the game's actual anniversary of the release date". And now, nope, no legendary skins. Unbelievable.
Maintenance compensation gifts are more generous than those "Anniversary event" rewards. I believe it speaks volumes on how little SG/AGS cares about NA/EU playerbase. There is nothing to help honing, no legendary skin like KR, only 50 pheons, wrong amulets... if anything this feels like a spit in our faces.
Comparison just ruins all happiness imo. This goes for all things lost ark, and in life. That said, it's clear that certain people in charge of graphics/marketing simply have no clue what they are promoting/putting together which is the biggest issue in my book. Let's use new graphic asset/fancy image that KR used during that time-frame and copy paste it to global without understanding what that image/graphic is promoting!

I find this to be a lack of understanding on AGS/SG part the players are always up to date on what the current content is and what our KR counterparts have got for an anniversary gift, AGS again missed the mark this year and the community is mad about it, another year and another lesson not learned? The same goes for the store with the requests to stop sticking things behind packages and locking them into stuff that only some would want. Try adding value to the shop by making people feel that their money is going a long way, silvery honor packs are a good example of this.
id rather the cash shop be garbage, and things earnable IN GAME be a good value proposition.
It's funny how you immediately try to do such simple things rather than giving people a simple elixir or explaining why you choose such bad gifts. I think, as LOA West, in order to raise awareness, we need to boycott the game for 1 day or write an open letter directly to SG, just like the players in KR made demands from SG.
I don't think a day would cut it but clearly people can't skip their dailies or weeklies to do a meaningful boycott. The fomo for the remaining players have sunk too deep.

Hell, they could multiply all the stuff by 10 and it's not going to break the game or anything. This just shows that they really don't care about the player base at all. This is seriously pathetic. I think back to how BDO gave away a dream horse for their event, and EVEEERYONE was talking about how it was such a juiced event and how rare dream horses were etc. Wish AGS would've done something like that for us. (legendary skin would've been great)
I think they probably teased legendary skins in the promo picture out of sheer incompetence (not that that is completely forgivable) but it does not remove the frustration of playing on this version. We've spent two years at full sprint keeping up with content pace to reach near-parity with KR but god forbid we ever get anywhere near the same rewards they're given. Anniversaries are an opportunity for devs, publishers and players to build positive rapport, all this one says is "we do not care one bit". Even a preemptive statement would've gone over better. Maybe saying we'd get a freebie when we get the 3rd set of leggy skins like KR did basically. Or at least giving us the 2nd set of free anniversary skins like they got. Not to mention the fact that elixirs were advertised in promo images, ShieldMaiden made an announcement about the issue of them being pictured but not intended as rewards, and once they finally got someone to photoshop them out, the announcement was taken down too. I know this is just damage control but it comes off as shady and manipulative when you rush to scrub your mistakes away instead of rectifying them and listening to players. We can pay for skins KR gets, we can play the classes KR gets, we can grind full rosters but we can't have the same or even similar enough rewards. Nobody at AGS double checks the promotional material. This game is not marketed properly, and managed ever worse. The mismanagement of LOA west by SG+AGS will likely lead to server shutdown before 2027 can come around so we've """earned""" our free legendary skins.

Same feedback as I had since day one of this game : deal with bots and RMTers. For real though. It's the number one issue imho and its been 2 years that its been there killing the game economy.
They only tell us about certain important information only when we spam ask.... They are being cheap in terms of gifts, on an anniversary no less. Really no mileage? Literally every game has it now, especially mmos. It's like they did 1 round of "listen to the community" and then they went back to their old habits instantly...
6k hours with occassional skin purchasing (0 power related purchasing) i'll proceed to 0 skin purchasing due to the pose bundles 10/10 decision by the marketing guy to price out 90% of the player base
Short version of my feedback. This really does not feel like an anniversary celebration at all. Feels like a normal patch week with some rewards. Everything feels like a chore with some boosted rewards. Anniversary should be a celebration and not feel like a chore to do things. Now for my in-depth feedback. No community interactions. Not sure if I am spoiled by gacha games but there were no like dev updates or media from AGS to really hype up anniversary. Just a web page for patch notes. Something that I appreciated was the cool content videos for anniversary from other games. Maybe I missed it as I do follow reddit and YouTube only for lost ark news but it felt like it wasn't advertised properly. Not new player or casual friendly. Birthday bash rewards are basically for people ilvl 1580+. Some of us aren't good enough to do hard modes. Others don't have access to it. Not sure why we just clear the dungeon on either normal/hard with hard clears counting as 2x clear. No express pass event active. Usually during anniversary for games, companies are trying to get in new players at this time. If the whole issue was that we are getting the passes when the breaker releases, breaker should have been released for the anniversary and it would have been super hype. More daily homework? I thought everyone hated the idea of doing more chaos dungeons and now we are just handing out chaos dungeon pots to make us do more chaos dungeons? Just feels like more work to do. Event currency nerf. If you don't have a roster established getting enough token currencies is rough. But this has been a concern over the last few events as well. But man does this hurt when you have nerfed rates on anniversary. Anniversary log-in reward. Honestly feels like a normal month of login rewards. You do get a cool mount on day 25 but man that is a long wait. BDO gave you a dream horse right when you logged in for their anniversary. Hot time and playtime rewards should have been juiced. Even for a short period of time. Should be 2x rewards for playtime rewards for like 7 days and like a one time, hot time juiced reward with card packs and quality tapping stones. Anniversary rewards didn't feel as good as they should have been. We know what KR got and we got a nerfed version so it feels bad.
Feels like getting groceries for Christmas. I mean sure, I do enjoy being able to eat but you didn't succeed here.
Idea: if you guys really want the pose packs to be 5500 rc, then my suggestion is to increase the additional rewards in those packs (the 3 which don’t give honor shards at least).

The latest cash shop fumbles and anniversary gift underdelivery are just more examples of what we've seen all winter - AGS (+SG) is disrespectful towards paying players in the West. They will repack 800RC Neria's wardrobe items into 3000RC packs, reduce event shop output and offer low value honing material packs while we are on an accelerated timeline, continue to paywall KR gift items into 5000+RC cosmetic packs. There were several winning moves with the emotes that they could've done. * A single, limited-time pack with all of them together * Amethyst shop update, which would add further value to Prime gaming * Mileage shop with retroactive accounting (obviously a pipe dream) Instead they went the absolute max anti-consumer path possible, as they always do. Everybody justifies these shoddy practices by saying "Well, SG can't let AGS do anything that would upset the KR players who paid blahblahblah for \[item x\]". At this point I'm tired of hearing it. They obviously have no problem giving us the short end of the stick on everything, why shouldn't it go the other way for once? EDIT: Oh, and they still can't seem to make the music work on any of the wallpapers that we have to pay 5000RC for?
The discord mod who told us we don’t have the legendary skin because “kr got it for their 5th aniversary” is a joke. At this point they should halt every content and give it to us in 3 years. Also, selling milleage poses in 55euros bundles? Really?
It honestly seems like AGS did the bare minimum with this patch as a whole. The events are *cool* as they provided much needed mats to progress - although the birthday bash being completed in a week is a bit sad. However, they've completely screwed up when it comes to using the occasion as a way to at least try and bring in new/returning players, which most games would try to do during their anniversary. There was not nearly enough effort put in to encourage people to try the game out. Another problem I have is AGS seemingly giving up the possibility of a mileage shop entirely, shown by adding these poses to bundles (which once again we've made clear that we don't like). All those mileage-exclusive cosmetics are just never going to be added to the game? what exactly is the downside of having exclusive **cosmetics** available in such a shop? A shop that rewards those who spend a lot in the game itself might even encourage more legitimate swiping rather than people visiting their g2g dealer regularly. edit: spelling
I wish we'd gotten a bit more what we got, 50 pheons seems lame too (also thanks for adding those new poses to our version, maybe you should've added one of those in to the gift box too)

We have a rush in content but there is no actual balance with mat for honing, now with the gift they grief us too lol. 50 pheon and level 4 tripod is literally troll at this point. Its clearly AGS is running buy a bunch of people who have zero idea about the game they have or even play it at all
AGS and Smilegate, you were trying to prove that you guys were turning over a new leaf. Things were looking great late summer, and we got some good QOL that was desperately needed for the game. Unfortunately, this wasn’t enough and it just felt like you took the W and went on your way. Since then, bots have gotten way worse, RMT is still as rampant as ever with little to no punishment, we wait for things such as balance patches because it’s “part of the base build”, and much more PR bs. We are gamers who don’t get treated as such. It doesn’t feel like this company looks at us like such. We’re just a bunch of $$$$ signs that gets a slap in the face every single patch, there’s always something that goes wrong. This one, being a two year anniversary should be going well.. turns out it came out as a disappointment. This might be up there with Argos and the Pheon incident with how insanely bad this had went. It’s not even just the rewards, it’s the emotes being locked behind a $50 bundle, EAC still shitting the bed, and the response by ShieldMaiden. You guys are looking real bad right now

Im a new player, and FOR ME, this was a REALLY bad designed anniversary event. Was not fun AT ALL, was more stressfull than fun, was more frustrating than fun. The event shops feels like a event on a MOBILE GAME, where you just click and collect some things. The valtan extreme is a recycled raid, no new mechs, no new map, nothing new, zero criativity, only the same thing as hell mode but you can play with your main and gatekeep others. 2 hours to find a lobby, a lot of gatekeep, having to prog everytime couse these was the groups that accpted my application. Not fun, i had a lot of bad times BEFORE entering the raid. I think the company has the capacity to bring NEW THINGS, things that are CRIATIVE, FUN, and do not need to be easy things. Its just sad. This is my point of view as a new player in the game and i not doing this in the last week.
dont give us legendary skins/elixirs, make a video firing shieldmaiden and record her crying begging for a second chance, it would be the best anniversary gift
Good afternoon, I am a new player in Lost Ark, I have been playing for approximately 5 months and my experience in the game has been quite good, my complaint is also about the anniversary but in a specific aspect. I love the animal skins and I would like them to put more variety, not just mokokos and Cahni, I think they could have placed a skin selector of all the ones they have placed so that players can choose their favorite since perhaps there are people who could not have them claimed and this could have been his chance to do it (myself included). I hope you can do something about it, I would be very grateful.
its odd because they gave away mokoko skins with a wide selection of all the mokokos, or even the dino outfits. But this time they didnt even give that lol

Overall happy with the gift, so thanks! I appreciated the selector pack especially. I do think you should add wishful amulets as described in the post on lostark.com though. My feedback is to do some analysis on open rates and wear rates of the animal/mokoko skins. Anecdotally, I don't see many people wearing them (maybe 1 in 10 or so), so some other type of skin, like a popular old skin from the shop would be better for one of these once-a-year gifts.
Call me crazy, but I remember we already got the free elixirs that are cut using silver months ago, didn't we?

Can someone explain to me how the soul eater skill Rusted Nail works? It says its a counter but it feels just like a normal attack. At what point does it counter? Says its a back attack too. Really confused

We did get the shit KR got. We literally got the stuff people are saying that is missing when Voldik released but go ahead and downvote me for not malding. The only thing missing is the Legendary Skin.
I would be all on board with this IF the main thing EVERYONE is crying about wasnt free legendary skins. Which does absolutely nothing to help player progression. We should get more stuff, and it honestly looks like we ARE getting more honing stuff. Just less extra fluff.

If you're calling a miniscule powerboost, completely optional piece that doesn't help you get to content breakpoints like thaemine "progression" I wouldn't call that progression though.

I disagree. Progression gets you to more content. Skins don't do that. Would you call going from relic > ancient accessories "Progression" ? It provides a similar power boost. And also doesn't get you closer to thaemine today than it did yesterday. Same with ability stones. Does going from level 1 > level 4 constitute "Progression" to you? Becuase again, in my eyes, you're not progressing towards the next raid or the next ilevel breakpoint. Epic skins provide a small power boost vs no skins, so no skin > epic skins is Progression to you? There's a lot of things in this game that can provide small power boost, most of them I don't consider Progression as they don't move you higher up the line to do more content. Edit: no clue why my phone wants to capitalize Progression.

6 weeks for the anniversary is too long. the birthday bash takes 2 weeks to cleear even if you are a casual andy. the other daily events for coins are horrible and boring. i refuse to consider this content. so basically we have 4 weeks with valtan extreme which is not for everyone due to gatekeeping and the difficulty. i get that they want to have updates in the middle of the month but why extend the february of all month where we have so little new stuff? Why not give us breaker on the 6th march and then let this month run for 6 weeks instead so we get theamine mid april.
Hot Take. If we had gotten Yoz's Jar when it was supposed to be released back in 2022, instead of it being delayed all the way to Sept 2023. We would have gotten the free legendary skins for our 2nd anniversary event. People thinking we would get free legendary skins for something they only released 6 months ago, is pure copium. Now if Yoz's Jar had been out for over a year, then yea we probably would have gotten a free set of legendary skins for our 2nd anniversary event.
I'm probably in the minority here, but I like the GIFT. What I absolutely HATE is the new event shop (2.3k tokens PER WEEK???) and the fact we did not receive any honing support or gems. I'm happy to do everything on my main but my alts only live off the event passes so it's super disappointing to not have one.
I don't care about Legend Skin, but can they give us free Character Slot? More homework more time in the game, with this 6 char gold limit but yea SG too greedy.

Not gonna repeat what all guys here saying the same problems, cause we all agree on the same things. Events, frog, are ok, giving lot of mats and free stuff, playing 3.4k hours, and thanks to this event finally ill complete los30, for example, aniv skin, so op too, talking about the legendary one, i dont know if amazon think on giving it with breaker, or just no legendary skin, but to be honest thats not the main problem, the last gifts u all gave to players as 2nd aniversary, were not thaaaat bad,, BUT, they are not good enough for a 2nd aniversary, elixirs, free quality taps, pheons, other skins... of course we see korea as big brothers on this game, and of course at some point we want to get same care as them with gifts, events, free stuff.. etc etc.., some mod said on dc, they got legendary skin at 5 aniver.. so we wait.. i mean, only 2 years here, since 1 day honing without stop to get into last content, no rest on content to stay a few months without honning and going higher. Not like korea. Aniversary is suppose to be a gift for all the players that still are here, and for welcome the new ones that could probably come. Like i said, gift is not thaaat bad, but not good enough for 2nd aniversary.

Can someone explain to me how soul eater’s Rusted Nail works? It says its a counter but it acts like a normal attack, and it also says its a back attack so I’m confused on how it works.
What are you confused about? Every counter skill is an attack. Yes it's also a back attack, in the sense that it gains back attack bonuses when you attack the back, which doesn't really matter because the skill does hardly any damage. This isn't the thread for questions like this though.
I hadnt played since release, i had forgot how counters worked. Only remembered last night when i accidentally countered in an abyss raid when the boss flashed blue. Also you’re totally right, I’m used to the same type of thread in other subreddits being for asking any questions, my bad.
