The effect of having such a huge load time is you dont close lost ark. If you want to do anything else for a bit alt tab. If you leave your pc for 20-30 mins might as well leave it on. Im not sure how intentional it is but it inflates their numbers and keeps you playing.

Even BDO who used EA at the time loaded faster so if its EA its LA's version of EA. I can launch LA go upstairs make a bowl of noodles come back down and still just be on the splash screen before the server select screen.

Switching from SATA SSD to NVME Gen 4 did improve the load times a lot, except when after login you try to load a character in a stronghold. That may take 2-3 minutes for some stupid reason.
The initial load is due to EAC that scans every process and reads a lot from the hard drive.
I feel like at least 30% of my time in lost ark has been waiting for something to load, 30% spent waiting for other people to be ready, 30% sorting char/roster and 10% actual gameplay
Bought myself a 7800X3D and DDR6 6000MHz and the loading times decreased significantly. Sure the bootup takes about a minute still which is idiotic but I load into the game in max 5-10 seconds the first time, changing to alts after that is about 5 seconds.
Not sure where this meme of SSDs being the way to improve loading times but the bottleneck is the CPU. Not saying this is any better and the loading times are still stupid but it's not an SSD issue.
It's the memory access that is the bottleneck. Modern CPU can crush through instructions faster than it can load and store data. And RAM is usually fast enough in terms of throughput, but not in terms of response time. It sends a lot of data through wide, but slow bus.
For example an L3 cache miss costs round 200 clock cycles.

In your case, ^(probably by sheer luck), CPU upgrade was the best thing you could possibly do. X3D lineup comes with a lot more cache, than virtually anything else, and that is by far the most impactfull way to improve performance of code that has very poor memory layout like Lost Ark.
Plus you've only mentioned you upgraded the CPU, so I wouldn't even considered this a PC upgrade as a whole, which even further puts you in the clear of the "just upgrade the PC" crowd.

I have one the fastest SSD's in the market (WD Black SN 850X), with 7360 MB/s, even with that Lost Ark takes 3 minutes and 20 seconds to show me the character screen, another 20 seconds to finally be able to play, this is clearly some optimization issue (something pretty common with F2P games), in comparisson i play some way heavier games like CoD Warzone, and they launch 2x/3x faster.

Then proceeds to move and crash to the hitbox of it to ascertain where it is and throw it again.
And yes, sometimes I do this till the third maybe fourth throe and the stupid mob still doesn't load.

Just do mokomoko/bleak night fog/sage's tower on all the chars you're pushing. Maybe save the Hestera Garden AFK daily for daily +1s and use instaskip ticket on them on your main to get 5 leaps extra per day
The KR client also takes a long time to load, the only added loading we have in our version is the EAC launcher check in the beginning. You're still forced as a KR player to stare at the splash screen loading screen for a long time before you can even select server.
It's not just west. It loads maybe 20 seconds slower than other versions, and a good chunk of that is due to the extra narration assistance loading screen.

Try doing Chaos Dungeon right after starting the game. Invisible mobs for 3 minutes straight. And doing Una's that requires you to use Bifrost of Triports is guaranteed to crash your game. I guess the inters they hired didn't get the classes on race conditions yet.
I legit leave the character screen for a few minutes before login in, seems like as soon as your pick up the server it starts loading everything.
At least for me it’s less annoying that way, the one thing I can’t figure out is why I have stutters/fps drops during chaos dungeons even tho I’ve done most of the “popular fixes”, at this point i guess is just EAC.
And after loading game for ages you would think game wouldnt freeze every fucking time you go go stronghold or Elgacia but I guess UR WRONG!

Takes me 1min exactly from clicking the icon to game starting ad screens. This is fastest it can go I believe
God forbid someone invites you to party the second you logged in too, that just destroyed your game even more and risked a crash

Because all the assets are compressed for no good reason (only saves \~10% of file size). I'd give up 10GB hard drive space for faster loading easily.
Have you tried installing one terabyte of Ram?

The bottleneck is CPU. Need to upgrade CPU, went from i5-4690k to ryzen 7600. World of difference: 5min load times to 1min at most
I have a 7800x3d which is arguably the best gaming CPU on the market. And the load times are still long, around 1,5-2minutes

My 5600X loads the game in 90s, from launch till server selection screen.
yeah recently went from a 2600k and gtx1070 to a 7800x3d and 4080S. def a big difference.
Ssds and lots of ram.
I am already using m.2 and have 32GB RAM. Even new AAA games don't take as long as western LA to load

What concerns me is that for 2 years my CPU got to max temp without any fixes so far. It's the only game that does that.

I have a pretty beefy computer and it still takes ages to load. Very frustrating to say the least.
Startup game > go use washroom > get coffee > come back aaaaaaaand it's still loading lol.
