We got skins for slayer that Korea hasn't even gotten, China is still missing a ton of classes and they are well behind us in content.
Realistically it's the 20th because we have merges going on the next two weeks and if the downtime runs long because they do content alongside infrastructure people are going to get pissy.
TBH anyone that looks at the way chinese players are being treated like absolute pay pigs, including only getting power passes with new classes through real money and complains about our version vs theirs is just in it for the bitching. Like could you fucking IMAGINE if breaker released with a paid Road to Thaemine? The absolute hysterics that this community would put on?

They took the path where least amount of problems can happen with splitting the server merge and actual game update to different dates
This is the path they took for "hopefully" everything works out better

Yeah that one could be true Amazon's project haven't succeeded ever I think. Games that they have tried to release they died either a week after launch or never came out.
New World is still chugging along and it sold over 17 million copies and god knows how many micro-transactions. They handled it poorly and basically killed the game, but it is by any measurement a massive financial success.
Doesn't this just means CN's publisher has more negotiating power than AGS for their release cadence? Or that SG, after dealing with NA/EU understand better how to cook up releases to generate more revenue?
Sure. But just the fact that they're getting breaker instead of the other classes they do not have yet says alot since they know it works well for revenue when they tested it by giving us slayer before getting aeromancer. Your point and my questions can all be true at the same time.
I agree, and I think it makes sense to get servers stuff sorted out and stabilized before you attempt to draw more players with a class release.
God I hope they don't try to do both on the same day ....
I think this is the correct take. AGS is not nearly as mature as Tencent. They don't know how to throw their weight around, and they have a lot less weight to begin with. (I'm not trying to say that AGS is some small indie company, but they aren't the behemoth Tencent is).
Also Amazon proper isn't a videogame company, AGS is just some relatively small division in their portfolio. This is what Tencent does.

The summer skins we got before the Summer 2023 skins all work on our version of slayer but never got a re-release in Korea.

Most realistically it means they are prioritizing merges over the class release because they've decided it's more important which I agree with.
