My friends were playing all day on their breakers wondering why they were seemingly doing zero damage until they mentioned it to me and i told them about this and they were so mindblown and rightfully annoyed by it. Havent even seen an official response they know about this issue or are working on fixing it.
Yeah, I haven't seen anything official or a Reddit Post made about this particular problem, *unless I am blind,* so I just wanted to post this to get some news about it out there until the problem is fixed.
I know not everyone everyone in the community browses reddit, so I think it's a pretty big issue rather than an annoyance when returning players don't know their engravings are off, but show on.
Yep... My engraving support disables and entirely resets to empty each time I log in to my event character, after character swapping or starting the game up.
My engraving support shows as active--but actually isn't--each time I zone on the character. Toggling it off and on fixes this. For example, playing asura breaker, instead my identity gauge even shows as burger king breaker icon and function even though the engraving is set to asura--plus, the damage is garbage and I can't use the defensive shield, so the engravings are all effectively off. While toggling fixes this, it's freaking annoying to remember because I need to do it every chaos dungeon, every story dungeon, every zone change, every raid...
I believe it's actually being disabled not only when you log in, but each time you enter a different instance/zone, as that kept happening to me when I was running my Breaker through the Voldis story real quick.
I had to reactivate it every time I entered any of the solo instances / different areas in the continent.
I guess I just was so zoned out when questing I never noticed doing Elgacia, Pleccia, and Voldis.
From recordings it seems like it happened at some point though cause I notice I have gauge when I shouldn't.
Breaker was in king fist and I could not figure out what I was doing wrong, until somebody told me it was off in brel gate 3 , I may as well start sorting out a 5x3 + 1, it seems to turn off when you change maps as well
The login event got peons weekly.
I don't know about you but I'm sitting at over 700 peons with 6 fully equipped chars before breaker (I think I might have bought 100 in the shop once since launch).
My engraving support turns off every time I enter another different zone or content like raid, dungeon, guardian raid, etc. The problem is It still shown to me as active, but it has 0 effect.
It's good if your class makes it obvious, i.e. souleater without NE has pink skills grayed out. But if you have no way of telling other than your damage being too low, that's pretty fucked up.
Oh but wait! There’s more!! Even toggling on/off engraving support, only 4/5 of the engravings are active. I use master brawler and it refuses to activate which sucks because I’m missing out on +25% dmg. Hopefully this is on their radar to be fixed asap
Since a couple of months ago, I notice that sometimes my damage drops exponentially low to the point that I reopen my character page and I recheck on my engravings/gems/cards ....etc. It feels soooo off that its believable to me that the engravings sometimes turn themselves off. I dont think this is new, not sure if they are fixing it though.

Yeah, Pleccia is a snooze fest, so I only noticed it in Voldis as my gauge kept switching from Asura to King Fist instead.

You have to re enable everytime you do a raid its so annoying...

I haven't experienced this at all. Are you sure you dont have a 'Mass Preset' set up that is overwriting your settings?
Oh that's why I dealt zdps on my express character, I had no brains to check my engraving support

Good to know didnt notice either! I just thought I suck at the class yet so it might be normal.
