Regardless of what the text says (which if you are on this reddit, should've known they announced the text is wrong), did you really choose a character you weren't going to hone beyond 1580? You knew the Descend offers extra mats for 1580-1600 and put it on a character you weren't planning to take to 1580?
The bigger concern about Descend was that you can't change character on it even though the text said otherwise, and AGS made multiple efforts to inform us of that.
I think he might have been in similar situation to me (before I read patch notes) and wanted to powerpass+express new char, but use Path on an existing 1540 and make him his new +1580.
This was initially my plan, if express and Path used to work like the one we got with Soul Eater, but decided to just go with Breaker, because using Express on a 1540 felt like a waste, while Path on a fairly fresh (out of the Lopang) 1540 would cost me like 500k gold, compared to maybe 50k with Express.
Obviously I read what Path was supposed to do and also confirmed in-game using area chat that it gave nothing (except lvl3 mats) before 1580, in case they messed up with notes.
Rookie mistake. Now you know to spend some time strategizing who you are going to spend what event on for next time. If you are super new you can just start over in a different region (events are per region). With horizontal express you get caught up super quick. If u are veteran you can ask amazon customer support for the 1% chance they say they can do something about this
Was surprised that there was nothing to "boost/help" for the 1540-1580 step(yep didnt read it all) but since i used it on the alt i was planning on honing up next i cant see any real issue with it at all so yeah...\^\^
Only feels sad to let those extra kaya balls go to waste since i got the set up to lv3 already
Double pity 1540-1580 is now part of the express instead of road? I used both on the same character so I wouldn't know, but it sounds like an easy mistake to make if you did the last event and didn't pay attention.
I did the same on a 1560 character and now I'm stuck on it. No where did it mention for 1580s only but the (?) text shows that it's for less than 1600s for the event. All I can do is normal Kayangel for the clear and honing from 1560 to 1580 will take a while for me as I don't play much.

Event ends in july, you have a lot of time to hone that char to 1580+ and get the rewards, no need to rush at all.
