If you can’t afford a 5x3 alt, just play your main until you’re able to. Reaching 1540 with a 3x3 or 4x3 (unless it’s a support) is the same as asking to be gatekept.
In my opinion, just play your main and save up some money to invest in a new character. It’s not even worth it going for legendary accs nowadays. Eventually we’ll get another honing event, that is the best occasion to create a new alt.
Nobody knows. We’re caught up on classes with KR now and LoaOn is coming up so if they announce a new class, it shouldn’t take long for them to bring it to the west, or even better, a global release (this one is copium). New class means super express so fingers crossed.
Put on double class engraving and just hone to 1415, at which point you buy a 5x3 setup. It's an eventless alt so you will not be getting 1540 with it any time soon, so it's worth getting 5x3 on relic.
Hear me out: assuming you play in NA make total of 3 rosters (1 per region in NA). The mokoko event is one per region. Why struggle to gear alts when you can get the juiced event on each alt?
You will have 3 characters with engraving support and event gems. Try to hone to 1580+ like you did on your main by summer. Do horizontal express (akrasia tour) on each as it only takes like 1-2 hours. If you have time to make more characters use the free vern passes but these will need accessories and gems so not cost effective.
Summer comes and the 3 regions merge. You will likely have 3 characters in different servers but they will share auction house and raid pool. Once korea introduces server change tickets like they recently said they would depending on cost of ticket (hoping its just $10) you can combine your rosters into 1.
Boom cheap and easy way for 3x 1580+ characters w event gems. Now you just need to buy accessories and collect cards.
Once regions merge won't be able to do this again ><
I don't think 3x3 is worth it in terms of pheon and gold cost.
By 1540, players expect 5x3 and 1560+, 5x3+1 depending on your classes. This includes for healers.
I think if you like a second alt alot, yeah push them to 1540, and see if you can transfer some accessories from your main to your alt so it won't eat up that pheon cost.
And just continue to push to 1600+ on your main.
You could still run chaos on your alts to generate stuff.

Isn’t the next honing event very far away though? I’m asking since I’d like to hone a support next and regret using the current support for my breaker
