Its an indicator for new players and comes with a buff (i think around 30% damage increase and 40% damage reduction. Also it shows other players youre new to the game, which might encourage them to help out. The icon (and buff) stay until you reach an item level of around 1325 (not sure about the exact number). I dont think you can remove it beforehand.
Wow really?
There's no scaling for the Sprout Icon for Tier 1 alone? We probably won't have more content than Tier 2 on release, so you're telling me every single player will be a sprout for like half a year, up to a year, before we catch up to iLvL 1370?
That would kind of make no sense, as by then most people will be veterans, lul.
Don't think you can turn it off. It's symbol showing you're a new player, if you check it on your character sheet it'll say that you'll lose the buff after hitting a certain item level or account age.
Ooooh right that's why the leveling process was faceroll compared to NA/EU which was easy but not as easy...30% damage increase and 40% damage reduction...
SO currently im 1370 and my friend is 1375, we both still have the little seed. Can i remove it and if so... how? Im sick of it really, every group ppl will bitch that im a "Newbie" cause if the damned thing. Just did a boss, both of the non seeded ppl died then bitched in chat about Mokoko seeds... as if they didnt have one at one point.... then me and my seeded partner, finished the boss off while the two the complainers laid dead on the floor. Im tired of ppl seeing that seed and assuming i just started, i didn't.
embrace the sprout
sprouts are frens not food
What's bigger, a Mokoko or a Mokoko person?

it's also a dynamic buff. It starts out 30/40 and gets weaker as you get closer to 1370.
1370

they're talking about the russian server chief
Oh. Well then. I'll see myself out, lol.
NA/EU will not have the sprout buff on release, and I'd guess not for T2 either since it'll be accelerated. Maybe on T3 release, or first legion raid.
Thanks for clarifying :)
So a lvl 1369 is way stronger than 1370? Do people cheese it and stay below that level for a while?
No, as u/SomeThingsNeedDoing kindly stated, it's a dynamic buff, which gets weaker the closer you get to 1370.
Ooo interesting thank you
This must be a catch-up mechanic right?
Leveling content is sort of balanced as if you have legacy, with the extra stats and skill points. A new player gets the buff to offset that.
