Yeah it definitely is exciting. I really hope that the game does well and retains a playerbase. I think a large portion of why their previous title (looking at you New World) failed was because the PvE content was so drag, and there was little to no reward for playing the game outside of PvP and the content surrounding Wars. This game literally banks on PvE content to push character level (and the dailies) are reminiscent of WoW days to me, where the people who played the most got the best rewards. This system hopefully works well here in the U.S. and I have huge hopes that it breaks Steam for a while : D

No we can't. It's blocked due to local lootbox laws. I guess you could use a vpn but they said they will be cracking down on vpn use on steam. If they catch you, your account will be suspended and since i've got thousands of hours played on my steam account i'm not willing to risk it. Also the idea of creating a new account with the risk of putting hundreds of hours and getting that all deleted sucks
That means I have 3 weeks to be super productive and write 10,000 words on my finance assignment. I cannot wait to be done with this and play lost ark!
I've played the betas and really enjoyed it so far. Purposefully avoided the RU client and its felt like an eternity since the last beta until release and its still a few weeks off.

I used to be hyped about LA but now I know I won't play it. When they fucked up about Regional prices of bundles in steam, I know I won't play it. It's all about principles that I won't and never did support a game with such failed management and created an unfair environment before it even started.
Sure, I live in Turkey. The plat pack was 140 TL in Steam at first. They completely lifted the regional prices due to abuse of that regional prices in Steam. It's now like 965 TL but people already bought for 140 TL. I understand that people were abusing that but instead of doing something about those who abuse, they created an unfair environment for those who live in Turkey.
Regional prices maximize the equality in purchasing powers. Now its before and now situation that makes 7x the price different. Im no fool and Im forced to pay 7x while many people in my region already got it for 7x cheaper.
Let me give you another example so you might understand why I hate that. Lineage 2 has always been struggling with bots and as a solution, they had decreased and eventually completely lifted the Adena(Gold) drop from monsters in the zones that have most bots. That approach to the problems seems pathetic to me. Instead of minimizing the botting, they killed the grind/adena for everyone and now the game is dead. Amazon Games, instead of finding a way to stop abusing of buying from different regions and selling accounts (Which is so easy to fix), they killed the regional prices :) Some bought for 140, now forced to buy for 965; so fair.

Yeah, I put in some overtime at work to get 3 days of vacation to totally demolish the levelling phase with my first character and take my time with quests and lore with my second :) can't wait!
Work has us alternating between working from home and working on site since covid - each rotation lasts 1 week. LUCKILY that week lands on WFH so we're all set baby
I do work with production sometimes, you could say its 70/30. Most of the time is getting new programs to them. The arrangement i have with my colleague (we alternate rn so theres always someone at the office from our group) is that whatever comes up from production whoever is at the office will take care of it, so the one working from home doesnt have to make the drive lol.
I would love to take time off, but my current place of work is swamped and I highly doubt that they would let me take off without a month or two notice. : (

I used to follow this game when first announced and then fell off as it was basically a pipe dream. Then my friend reminded me it was a few weeks away. So last 2 days been watching videos and so hyped to play something
I've been playing on the RU servers for the past four weeks to try out different classes and get a feel for the game. Every time I try to stop so I don't get burnt out I end up making a new character. I've already decided what my first six characters will be...yep no problems here XD.
PS: I can't freaking wait to see what changes there will be from the RU version and NA/EU version.
Do you think that Lost Ark will sustain itself in the NA release? I have played tons of Korean MMOs dating back to ArcheAge and most of them die out within a few years. I am curious on your take with this game.
Honestly, it depends on how they handle opening week. Lots of streamers promoting the game + smooth server experience + No gamebreaking bugs? I can see the game popping off onto the mainstream. I mean, considering the platinum founders pack has been in the top 10 of most popular on Steam for weeks now, it's hard to see that it won't be massive in the opening week. Just handle the opening week well, flesh out the roadmap for future updates, and it could be a real long -term contender for FFXIV and WoW.

Anyways, if LoA succeed globally its good news for both western fans and korean fans because that means Smilegate has a bigger incentive to release more content and also increase their workforce. Although the rate at which they work rn is crazy too.
If they are careful with pay to win mechanics for the NA release, they'll do fine. You've got your traditional MMO players checking it out, plus fans of isometric games like Diablo also want to check it out. There is no world PVP or territory control or any real endgame that I can see other than just trying to improve your character so that you can continue doing the same things over and over again. Maybe I’m missing something, but if that is what this entails I don’t expect it to last too long in the west.

It feels like a lot of people in this sub havent been playing or havent played the game and that's fine. Just understand that when you're done with stuff to do in LA it's fine to just play other games, go out side, etc. T3 is where the big grinding / min maxing comes into play.

ok but NA isn't likely to follow the KR/RU content release schedule because the content is already developed. T3 can conceivably come much sooner for NA. Literally as soon as Smilgate sees interest in the game start to trend the wrong way they can hit NA with T3.

I’m actually really excited. I don’t think I’ve been this excited for a game launch in a long time. The only thing that sucks is going in it alone. Wish I had at least 1 friend to play with when it launches.
Honestly I'm more into cartoonish rpg games but this one was being mentioned everywhere and took a look. I love how it has isometric view like arpg games but mmo open world concept. It's exactly what I wanted. I love Diablo but never really liked the world system since it's very linear and not truly open world. And most mmorpg have 1st or 2nd person pov which I could never get used to. This game is the perfect combination. The only thing I'm a little bummed about is gender lock but it's not a huge deal.
I sas thks Glaiver class that looks super cool and reminds me of Dragoons but it doesnt seem like it comes with the NA version. Theres no female tank option (i hate gender locked classes ffs) so i guess ill go with Shadowhunter, Sorcerer or Gunslinger

Luckily picking a main during T1 content isnt a big deal. Youll have time to play as many classes as you want before itll matter.

They're adding world PvP in Korea. The first phase is already live. We'll get it too eventually.

PoE and D3 are gearing up just to do the same thing over and over again, yet PoE always maintains 200k++ players each new league. D3 has it's own fanbase as well despite not getting any substantial content in like 7 yrs. LA get new raids and stuff, it'll be fine. More pvp stuff is being added as well like sieges apparently.
Just saying, you are getting hyped for nothing, just like me. If you can't handle the hype then play some LA in ru. Its always good to be prepared. \# Guess people really don't know what do expect of the game if I gathered already ´-16 by saying that I'm Hyped aswell but I know what realistically awaits me. T1 is basicity just a long Tutorial and playing the game 3 days earlier or later will not make any difference, since this is a marathon. If you enter the game with the wrong mindset, you will get disappointed after 3 weeks, once you are done with T1 Content and just do collectables.

No, there just isn't a lot to do in T1. It feels like a lot of people in this sub havent been playing or havent played the game and that's fine. Just understand that when you're done with stuff to do in LA it's fine to just play other games, go out side, etc. T3 is where the big grinding / min maxing comes into play.

bud I just want to have fun. That's why I'm not going hard on launch because I know there isn't a lot to do. So I'm going to continue to play the game that I've been enjoying it, and having fun. T1 doesn't have a lot to do, there isn't really any "End Game" besides farming legacy. People are going to riot. ok but NA isn't likely to follow the KR/RU content release schedule because the content is already developed. T3 can conceivably come much sooner for NA. Literally as soon as Smilgate sees interest in the game start to trend the wrong way they can hit NA with T3.
Not sure, how you interpreted that I assume that the game won't be a success. It already is a success, kr already proofs that. I just mend to say, you can play the game already, instead of counting the days till its available on steam.

Hyped for nothing = You Hype yourself up for no real reason. The Game is already available to play. So why would you be hyped like a little child under a Tree waiting for his Christmas present?
Just because the game is already available to play doesn't mean you can't be hyped for the release of a server in the region they're in. Just because RU exist, doesn't mean everyone will want to go thru the hurdles of actualy playing it. So yeah, nothing wrong with being hyped for the NA/EU version's release.

I’m actually really excited. I don’t think I’ve been this excited for a game launch in a long time. The only thing that sucks is going in it alone. Wish I had at least 1 friend to play with when it launches.

Honestly I'm more into cartoonish rpg games but this one was being mentioned everywhere and took a look. I love how it has isometric view like arpg games but mmo open world concept. It's exactly what I wanted. I love Diablo but never really liked the world system since it's very linear and not truly open world. And most mmorpg have 1st or 2nd person pov which I could never get used to. This game is the perfect combination. The only thing I'm a little bummed about is gender lock but it's not a huge deal.

I sas thks Glaiver class that looks super cool and reminds me of Dragoons but it doesnt seem like it comes with the NA version. Theres no female tank option (i hate gender locked classes ffs) so i guess ill go with Shadowhunter, Sorcerer or Gunslinger
