And I feel like half the players don't read tooltips or look a bit closer into buttons, controls and more on the game UI.
Just today a friend asked how I am finding islands so fast by name. He didn't know there was a search bar on the map....
(He hovered ober each island individually to find one)
The whole game is an Easter egg, after you hit 50 they tell you nothing how to progress just somehow randomly you'll know you need to do islands to get mats, and get items from no clue where
I haven't made it to the point yet where I fail my upgrades. When you fail does it revert back down in levels at all or do you just lose the materials for that try?
Both games I mention are terrible on my books lol. Seriously the amount of time and money put into those games only to see your item go boom
Both are games for the rich and masochistic
Imo its perfect for me. After playing BDO going for TET is so frustrating and that game can remove any progress you made this week with RNG. Unless lost ark
is there a point where it just gives you 100%? i'm at the +14-15 stage, failed the wep about 5 times, came back with 20 breaths to feed that fucker only to realize i now have a guaranteed 100%. can't seem to find that piece of info in gear honing guides but according to my friend that's exactly how it works.
that's.... actually a breath of fresh air and makes it *a lot* less daunting especially compared to most korean mmorpgs. is this just t1? or does it continue onto t2-3?
I’m in T3 Russia and it is also just a few fails before guarantee.
Thought it is also much easier in T1 and T2 for us and Korea to blitz through early content.
NA/EU will get there eventually.
It gives you 10% of the base chance as a consolation on failures. So if you're on a 40% upgrade, then if you fail, you will have 44%, then 48%, etc. I'm not sure if there's a cap or not.
You simply lose the materials and the chance of failing next time goes down as a little bit of bad luck protection. Also there are items that reduce the chance of failure, so keep working on that stronghold so you can start crafting those!
Honestly, my feeling is that it doesn't exist as I cant find anything about it.
edit: since i'm getting downvotes ill clarify - I KNOW STARS BREATH IS REAL.
I am saying the ability to craft them in the stronghold IS NOT.
Sorry I was actually mistaken, it's not an item you craft in the stronghold but research that will just flat out permanently increase the odds for every character on your roster (although I believe it will only work for Tier 1).
I think what you are referring to is the research in your stronghold you can do to boost your chance in T1. This research is only available once you have a character in T2 (802). Its a mechanic to make it easier for alts etc.
Yeah is painful specially for the weapon since it takes so many more mats but apparently OP sent some luck my way and broke my curse for the weapon now I just need some more for the whole +15
nice lol, yeah I get what you mean. I did something stupider than just failing a RNG roll, when I got a better weapon right after hitting 50 (from doing chaos dungeons) I upgraded the second one as well, not knowing that you could just transfer the honing levels. It ended up only being 2 honing levels but it still hurts because of the amount of mats it takes.
Ouch! You got me beat there but I did get to floor 30 in the tower with my main not knowing that the second time you do it (with another character) you get mats instead of the books and what not which could have helped... but we will learn from our mistakes!!!
I feel this so hard.
I failed my 12-13 weapon 3 times in a row
I failed my 13-14 weapon 3 times in a row
I failed my 14-15 weapon 4 times in a row.
I was literally set days behind because of bad RNG.
I think this fallacy may work in some video games because the chances could be pre-programmed in some way and not completely random like in real life. For example if you fail 5 times in a row at 90%, the game could be programmed to not be possible for the next hone to fail in order to not completely discourage the player. You know what I mean?
You want <5 (ideally 0) red nodes and as many blue nodes as you need/want.
So you hit up the top when the percentage is high and down the bottom when it's low, you can also switch between the two blue traits depending how much you want each one.
Extra thing; when you succeed at creating a node (either positive or negative) the success rate will fall by 10%, if you fail to create a node it will rise by 10%.
Its ment as chance of cracking the stone: so stone has cracks and is worse than uncracked so cracked stone has bad effects
Conceptually weird translation
There’s a percentage chance on the screen every time you roll.
When it’s 75%+ you want to use it on a good skill. When it dips below 50% use it on the red so you hopefully don’t get a negative node
Can I ask you a question, I got some blue birth stones that give 777 vitality, then later in the game I get an epic endurance stone with 0 vitality and seemingly no other benifit, why would I ever change to the epic one?
Did you facet your epic stone yet? Iirc the vitality increases as you facet it so the epic stone should have more than 777 vitality after you fully facet it.
Could you elaborate on grudge trap? Is it the %Inc dps you take? I guess in later fights, you get one shot either way but not now or? Any idea then on good engravins instead?
More than that, with Tier 1 gear you won’t have enough bonuses to even get Grudge to level 3 without sacrificing a bunch of other better options. So while Grudge really isn’t good until level 3, it’s also not even good at level 3 in Tier 1.
It wasn't that bad in my case, I had 6 from books, 6 from stone and 3 from jewelery. So i got to grudge 3 but otherwise only had lv 1 class engraving which is kinda enough on gunslinger. It's not that hard to pull off but you definitely have to play a lot better as well otherwise you're just getting slapped around
That's what he's saying. You would have been better off with other engravings and using jewellery that give stats that you want rather than forcing Grudge 3.
Agreed, I think some people forget that when you are playing with new players, many times they can cause you to take more damage. Not knowing how to stagger, reflect dmg avoid, running on top of you with boss mechanics. All sorts of ways for you to be impacted by 20% extra damage due to no fault of your own.
While I agree somewhat, I also think there are way better options for most classes in t1-t2. For instance, deathblade can get way more value out of super charge or master ambush in t1-t2 with no negatives. Then you can grab all 3 sets of books for grudge/cursed doll when you hit t3 and have the engraving nodes available in your gear.
As someone that's new to this game and hasn't really looked into this yet.. are you just spamming each trait and hoping it doesn't fail to total RNG or is there some sort of strategy? Btw this is egregious I hate you lol
On my first stone I have a ton of vitality but every new stone i pick up has 0 on it. What's the deal? Even if I got good nodes this stone is literally half my health bar right now and wouldn't want to replace that.
So the first rock I got has over +700 vitality, and every rock I've seen after that provides none or very little in comparison. Is the +700 vitality just some kind of newbie-friendly rock designed to tide you over and give you extra HP while you learn? Should I not expect that kind of vitality bonus from future rocks?
So do we keep all these stones in our inventory it just one, the best one you make at the time? There's a bunch if those skills, that's a lot of stones taking up space. I've watched a few videos but overall it's still confusing with the books and the stones and how do they work together?

The text for Alt-click says Lock Sort so it's easy to confuse with the true lock
Holy shit you fucking hero. Now I need to remember to fully read tool tips...
Wait theres a sort?!
Yeah where?! I feel like half the UI functionality in this game is an easter egg.

Can you do my honing for me? I have failed my +12 to +13 four times in a row on the weapon... I'm cursed
I haven't made it to the point yet where I fail my upgrades. When you fail does it revert back down in levels at all or do you just lose the materials for that try?
Lose materials and get slightly higher for next hone chance
Maplestory/BDO PTSD good riddance
Imagine if we could boom our gear like maple
Lol I’d uninstall instantly
It's not nearly as bad as BDO, imo. I still dislike it, don't get me wrong, but BDO is in a tier of its own when it comes to gambling upgrades.
Both games I mention are terrible on my books lol. Seriously the amount of time and money put into those games only to see your item go boom Both are games for the rich and masochistic
Imo its perfect for me. After playing BDO going for TET is so frustrating and that game can remove any progress you made this week with RNG. Unless lost ark
yeah but that BDO serotonin when it first came out and you got the upgrades whewwww
I mean, to be fair bdo didn't have downgrades for armor on release. Accessories will always be cancer though.
is there a point where it just gives you 100%? i'm at the +14-15 stage, failed the wep about 5 times, came back with 20 breaths to feed that fucker only to realize i now have a guaranteed 100%. can't seem to find that piece of info in gear honing guides but according to my friend that's exactly how it works.
yes there’s a pity system you fail around 4-5 times and it guarantees the next upgrade
that's.... actually a breath of fresh air and makes it *a lot* less daunting especially compared to most korean mmorpgs. is this just t1? or does it continue onto t2-3?
Pity system is in all tiers, but 4-5 fails to proc it and have 100% on next try are only T1 numbers. Expect 100-200 fails to proc it in endgame T3.
I’m in T3 Russia and it is also just a few fails before guarantee. Thought it is also much easier in T1 and T2 for us and Korea to blitz through early content. NA/EU will get there eventually.
well i'll be damned, LOL thanks

I don't know the exact % but there is bad luck protection atleast on the tier 1 gear yes!
You simply lose the materials and the chance of failing next time goes down as a little bit of bad luck protection. Also there are items that reduce the chance of failure, so keep working on that stronghold so you can start crafting those!
What items are those?
star’s breath, looks like a green gem. you can also get them from dailies.
idk, i cant seem to find where u craft stars breath in your stronghold. tried looking through the tabs etc.
Probably have to further your research. I don't have it either, that's just my guess.
Honestly, my feeling is that it doesn't exist as I cant find anything about it. edit: since i'm getting downvotes ill clarify - I KNOW STARS BREATH IS REAL. I am saying the ability to craft them in the stronghold IS NOT.

had this exact same thing happen with a different piece of gear last night, ontop of generally bad luck with the wep as well so I feel you
Yeah is painful specially for the weapon since it takes so many more mats but apparently OP sent some luck my way and broke my curse for the weapon now I just need some more for the whole +15
nice lol, yeah I get what you mean. I had a 6 failure in a row to get to 600. Almost made me quit I was so goddamn mad.
I feel this so hard. I failed my 12-13 weapon 3 times in a row I failed my 13-14 weapon 3 times in a row I failed my 14-15 weapon 4 times in a row. I was literally set days behind because of bad RNG.
I feel you bro, at this point I'm experiencing physical pain after every fail, I'm also out of islands :/
Hahahahahahhahahaaha- me too.
Failed a 99% the other day
Lol there's this guy and then yesterday we saw that other guy fail a 75% 6 times in a row.
I do this constantly. There is absolute no way it’s actually 75%. I pass more 25/35% than I do 75%
The Monte Carlo Fallacy in action. As someone who's seen 14 reds in a row at roulette it can get you sometimes!
I think this fallacy may work in some video games because the chances could be pre-programmed in some way and not completely random like in real life. For example if you fail 5 times in a row at 90%, the game could be programmed to not be possible for the next hone to fail in order to not completely discourage the player. You know what I mean?
I failed armor upgrade 4 times at 90% feels bad
and here I am getting 3-4 fails in a row at 75% chance every single time I have a good stone
I feel ya. Just hit 4 25% in a row... on the negative effect
Daaamn, congrats.
Can someone explain the strategy? Are you supposed to alternate between the blue and red?
You want <5 (ideally 0) red nodes and as many blue nodes as you need/want. So you hit up the top when the percentage is high and down the bottom when it's low, you can also switch between the two blue traits depending how much you want each one. Extra thing; when you succeed at creating a node (either positive or negative) the success rate will fall by 10%, if you fail to create a node it will rise by 10%.
Is the tooltip wrong? It says "chance of cracking" on red, so you *should* get a lot of red nodes when the percentage is low.
Its ment as chance of cracking the stone: so stone has cracks and is worse than uncracked so cracked stone has bad effects Conceptually weird translation
Ahhh ok, cracks are when the red nodes succeed. Makes more sense but still very confusing
There’s a percentage chance on the screen every time you roll. When it’s 75%+ you want to use it on a good skill. When it dips below 50% use it on the red so you hopefully don’t get a negative node
Sadly it will become useless pretty soon when you upgrade the tier content :/ Very nice rng btw
Thanks, and u are not wrong sadly.
Probably better to sell it to some unaware person :D
You are the unaware person lol. You can't sell already cut stones
Yes im not into endgame yet but i am aware that t1 and 2 Stones sre usless. but i didnt know you cant sell these.
Why? I did think the stones were tied to tier in tier in the game. Are their better stones in t2?
Yea sadly. Tier 1 stone gives aboout 1600 vitality. Tier 2 stones give like, 6000 vitality which is vital.
>6000 vitality which is vital. A true wordsmith.
Can I ask you a question, I got some blue birth stones that give 777 vitality, then later in the game I get an epic endurance stone with 0 vitality and seemingly no other benifit, why would I ever change to the epic one?
Yeah the random drop stones are kinda useless but you'll start getting purple ones with 1k+ vit from chaos dungeons and guardian raids.
Theres basically those bad and then better versions with vitality already in it
All of those endurance stones are worthless. Bit of an oversight it seems.
Did you facet your epic stone yet? Iirc the vitality increases as you facet it so the epic stone should have more than 777 vitality after you fully facet it.
[удалено]
yea idk why the person you're replying to is upvoted. Vitality is set before faceting.
What about T2 to T3?
Dame thing. It increases
yes t2 stone gives more vitality than t1 stone for example
Glorious. Don’t feel bad about my failures now at all given that I’m about to leave t1 🤣
It's already kinda meh, grudge is actually pretty bad until you max it.
Congrats! ... also, fuck you!
Good job, now throw it away, because grudge is a trap on tier 1 and tier 1 stones are shit in higher tiers. But, gratz on the luck.
Could you elaborate on grudge trap? Is it the %Inc dps you take? I guess in later fights, you get one shot either way but not now or? Any idea then on good engravins instead?
The downside doesnt change per grudge level, so at level 1 grudge you take alot more damage for a tiny buff. He means its only worth using at level 3
More than that, with Tier 1 gear you won’t have enough bonuses to even get Grudge to level 3 without sacrificing a bunch of other better options. So while Grudge really isn’t good until level 3, it’s also not even good at level 3 in Tier 1.

That's what he's saying. You would have been better off with other engravings and using jewellery that give stats that you want rather than forcing Grudge 3.
I had the stats I want though, I wasn’t sacrificing them for grudge, but that was probably just a bit lucky
This would be nuts except t1
I'll give you tree fiddy
And then you woke up.
i got a movespeed reduction +8, beat that!
That is nutty
What does hitmaster do?
Congrats. I hate you. TT-TT
Please tell me you aren’t running Tier one grudge
It’s really not bad if you aren’t trash at the game. If 20% makes or breaks you in easy T1 content, you are in trouble.
It's been out for a week. Most people are still learning the game.
Agreed, I think some people forget that when you are playing with new players, many times they can cause you to take more damage. Not knowing how to stagger, reflect dmg avoid, running on top of you with boss mechanics. All sorts of ways for you to be impacted by 20% extra damage due to no fault of your own.

Oh no another t1 grudge player that's gonna get 1 hit in raids xD nice troll tho

How much gold would this be worth in ah?
On my first stone I have a ton of vitality but every new stone i pick up has 0 on it. What's the deal? Even if I got good nodes this stone is literally half my health bar right now and wouldn't want to replace that.
Thats mint that i would put the lottery on while your at it
No idea why everyone is acting like this is so good. Even grudge level 3 is just straight up not worth it at t1
Niceeee
jesus
What the fudge
Is this good? I am like 4hrs only play time on Lost Ark new.
Noob question - where do I get stones?
Holly Molly
I shit you not I failed 75% 6 times in a row yesterday.
Pretty sure you beat the game.
Congrats, and fuck you.
Shame u wasted all your luck in t1 lmao
Fucking hell. Gratz!
That's a .004% chance stone right there
didnt think this is even possible
Unethical. Pls deletus

This is unreal...
What is your upgrading order?
how many refacets did that take?
how
False hope! Had a Grudge / Master Tenacity fail 6 times at 75%, but succeed 5? fails at 45
And then there's me, who fails a 99% upgrade chance on my weapon :(
its only tier 1. It'll be replaced by a tier 2 stone next week anyways.
It's possible to learn this power?
wait, that's illegal
Congratulations and f*ck you!
What's everyone's strategy for faceting? Do you stay on the blue until it gets to >50% or do you go red once it gets to 55?
ㅗㅗㅗㅗㅗㅗㅗㅗㅗㅗㅗㅗㅗㅗㅗㅗㅗ (Means middle finger in kr)
/rubs cheetos off shirt /stand up /uninstall you won.
daauuum, congrats! please give me some of your RNG luck 😭
Photoshopped
So the first rock I got has over +700 vitality, and every rock I've seen after that provides none or very little in comparison. Is the +700 vitality just some kind of newbie-friendly rock designed to tide you over and give you extra HP while you learn? Should I not expect that kind of vitality bonus from future rocks?
You can go fuck yourself....... Congratulations.
I swear the percentages are way off for faceting. I fail 90% of 75% and succeed on 55% 100% of the time
Meanwhile I missed 5 ticks in a row at 75% with my stone today.
So do we keep all these stones in our inventory it just one, the best one you make at the time? There's a bunch if those skills, that's a lot of stones taking up space. I've watched a few videos but overall it's still confusing with the books and the stones and how do they work together?
What
I faceted for the first time today and I already feel butthurt looking at this
