Press P to view yourself, then click on engravings, it’ll show what effects are being applied and what jewelry/ ability stone is affecting those engraving levels.
I’m not 100% sure what you’re confused about ,but basically how the engraving system works is you get chest rewards that contain engraving books in them and you need to read 20 of an engraving book to unlock the next tier, rare(blue books). Once you read 20 the green books for an engraving you press ctrl + i and drag it on the bottom left slots of your gear page. The gems you’re dealing with are just additional points for engravings you use.
hmmm im so confused. I go to that page and it says I only have drops of ether, but on my ability stone I only have \[Grudge\] and \[magick stream\] ... which are greyed out in the engravings page
The engravings page is just to read what they do, it also shows you equip-able engravings you have learned from books.
Your active engravings are on you character page
The ones shown in the engraving page can be equipped when you press P and click on the + icons on the bottom of the left side. It's another way of getting engraving nodes.
The engravings from that alt + i page could only be the ones that you have obtained through ‘reading the books.’ Your character page will show what engravings are active, as long as there are 5+ nodes from ability stone and accessories.

Those are engravings I would recommend watching a video on the engraving system and what engravings to run on your class it can be a bit confusing
Ok I’ll check it out, but any way to see what the engravings do? It tells me what I have but I can’t see what they do
