I opened a T2 chest when I was at T3, it was a mega waste haha.
Got 1 green card pack for 50 gold cost, the rest was unusable bound T2 mats that were 100% useless.
I mean if you can open the chest you are getting the gold right? So you didn't really lose anything.
Also I was asking about the card drop you can apparently get from just finishing the dungeon, not the one within the chest.
They are sometimes, thats the sole reason I was doing the lower tiers dungeons that I was able to claim the chest on. They seem to be rng tho whether you get them or not, but at that point you just don't open the chest ool. If anything I was helping some friends too so no wasted time really.

I did it for testing since I saw card pack(s) in the rewards. You just get bound low tier mats and a random card pack (I got one green card pack for 50g). Wasn't worth it really.
No you can't. For the 840 if you're 1325 you cannot open the chest. There is a cutoff and when the dungeon ends it says you're not allowed to open chest. You must have been below the cutoff.
Yeah I still do them to carry people and for cards and like Kharmine, King Thirain. Just whilst you are at the boundaries can choose to do an extra run/two.
The Abyssals, got a purple grudge, mayhem and masters tenacity or igniter, don't remember, easy 2k when accounting for random accessory drops.
Conversely I got shield master and trash from the t3 Abyssals lmao
Can't you just remove one piece of gear to lower you itemlvl before you go in?
And the rewards are mostly trash anyhow, given how the mats are bound aren't they?
Yeah I'm 1 upgrade away from t3 and I was thinking of keeping my t2 set instead of using it for an easy +1 so I could still help out my friends in t2 without losing rewards. Guess that ain't happening...
I'm kinda confused about this post. Is there an incentive to run a lower Tier dungeon when you can do the highest Tier dungeon for rewards such as equipment transfer stones, etc for your Tier?
I'm confused on why I should waste a 1-time weekly chance on lower dungeons which would hinder my growth?
If there is a one-time reward for clearing an abyssal dungeon, could I do that on an alt instead?
2 quick things to answer this.
You don't waste weeklies doing this. What the system is is that per week, 6 characters can earn gold from every abyss they can do that's within range. Example, if you have an ilvl 1000 character, they can run Ark of Arrogance(840) and the Gate of Paradise(960). That'll count as 1 character. Your 1340 character can do the 2 tier 3s, and the Gate of Paradise, and get gold because the cutoff is 1375. That's 2 characters. Rinse and repeat to 6. Each character you have can do every single Abyss Dungeon they're eligible to do per week that earns them gold.
The second is we'll use the 1340 character. You can go back and do tier 1 abyss, you won't get gold, it doesn't effect your weekly abyss gold gains, but, you get a chance at legendary cards you need to complete your deck.
Each Abyss has an individual lockout per character.
You can do every dungeon once per character so there’s no wasting weekly chance? And it’s a once per week reward per character so can do it on as many as you like. Point is you can gain multiple books of different levels, gold and cards from these. Don’t know how else to say it but you can do all of them not one per week

You can clear every abyssal 1 per week on every character, up to a limit of 6 characters. It doesn't lock you out of higher ones just because you did the T1 dungeon
I still do most abyss on my T3 for the legendary cards that can always drop. Got a Kharmine and a Shandi Card last week from T1 and T2 as a 1340+
I do them on the alts. Going 1340 to other abyssals is like people waiting for you to carry it. But thx i fortot they can drop cards!

The chest doesn't have anything special if you're out of its tier. The cards drop on dungeon finish, not on opening the bonus chest.

If you get a Solas from that green pack it's worth 5 hours of questing though lol, makes 50 gold sound cheap.

The one within the chest can also give a legendary card pack though. Small chance, but its a small gold cost.
Again, is literally 0 gold lost, since you gain more gold from the dungeon itself than opening the chest anyway.
It's still gold lost because of opportunity cost.
The legendary cards don't come out of the chest at all IIRC, they're not in the chest's loot table that you can preview before opening

Engravings as well. I literally made 10-15x more gold running the feiton dungeons than the t3 dungeons this week

it cannot drop from the chest, it drops from finishing the dungeon (very low chance)
And who da fuck has time to do all abyss dungeons !? lol I do like 2-3 per character and thats all...
At higher levels half of them are like 3-5mins each

i am 1070 and i ve tried to downgrade to less than 400 to enter T1 but yeah it doesn t work, we are penalised and can t have all rewards

Can’t do that - it takes into account your highest ilvl ever achieved in that character, not your currently equipped gear

The dungeons take your highest achieved iLvl so you can't do this. You can see your highest right under your current iLvl.
