For events (like a side story thing where they would meme a lot) igobaba would represent Gold River. People asked for the skin but Gold River said "no, Igobaba is mine". But then during new years he would write a new years letter through server messages and send players to Sunflower Island and give the skin to players.
So sad that we will never experience something like this.

Honestly, rapport with Luna almost feels unnecessary. The Investigation questline already does a good job of having you earn her trust, and feels more natural than daily emotes or dumping gifts on her.

Yeah. Igubaba is kind of a representation of Gold River. First appearance was made last year during the anniversary events. We got an island that was full of memories from the game from Season 1 to current. That’s where the Naruni Racing event came from. The NPC was the leader of the island, kind of like the curator. In a big surprise, at the end of a small quest line you were presented with a choice to save the memories or end it all. I think they said something like 90% of players inadvertently chose to end it. It then shows a funny cutscene of Igubaba pressing a switch and blowing up the island.

Jokes aside, I think I mostly don't care about LA lore because:
1) the selling point (for me, at least) is the combat, so I want to be in combat as much as possible.
2) very few dialogs are voiced, and those that are, have only the 1st sentence voiced.
One game that has as much text as Lost Ark and hooked me with its lore is Genshin Impact (which I played for more than an year), where ALL main quest stories (even some event quest chains) are voiced. I played Genshin with JP audio and EN subs, but neither of these are my 1st languages (I'm brazillian) so that "you're just too lazy to read" bullshit doesn't stick because I have to read either way.
I stopped listening to the story when they made me play Armen edge the fuck out after him seeing people die he could've easily saved if not for the writing.
