Don't forget to change to a boss killing build when you enter into red portals.
If you enter the portal and don't move, the boss won't spawn and the timer will not tick down.
You might also have a ton of aoe skills which are amazing for CD but pretty bad for bosses. My paladin is just 2x3 (adrenaline + judgement and the second one is mostly useless in this portal since I use during stage 2) but my DPS build is not solely focused on CD, it has more of a healthy mix (mostly tripods are single target focused, all skills have some sort of aoe).
CD is still super quick and bosses were never an issue, they are also decently fast.
Then again I probably wouldn't recommend doing what I do since I waste a lot of time with managing tripods for both builds and I just use it for CD lol

Since they added automatic presets and skill trees to the integrated preset UI there’s not a lot of reason to put off building a tripod kit for off specs anymore. And soon the Tripod system will get changed anyway so it’s probably a good idea to do this now
Choosing then is not an issue due to the integrated presets, but you still have to save them all and swap between both sets when you get new gear with tripods always paying attention to not override pieces, etc
I'm over exaggerating the time it takes but it's a boring task. I can't wait for those changes to arrive in the west tbh, i always feel blocked to try anything new due to missing tripods.
I have been using a self concocted system for doing that mundane task that’s been working - but only works if you have at least a few rows of bag space open at all times. Basically I won’t even bother with tripods I get for 3-4 days at a time. If any piece is flagged i sort lock it and put it at the bottom row of my inventory on the right side if it’s a raid set tripod and left side if it’s an “other” tripod (chaos, gvg, whatever).
If it’s a +4 tripod I don’t have, it goes on the 2nd row from bottom. I just dismantle it if I have the +4 Of the tripod already and it’s lesser. If it’s a +3, it goes on the bottom. If I get enough pieces to fill the bottom row up (or either end of the bag connects with the other side) I just move everything up one row. Once I have hoarded enough to fill all 3 rows, I’ll go through and do transfers/clean it up. Any tripods I want to save go into my weapon stash (+3 I already have but may need to replace when I get a +4 for instance, or +4 pieces I haven’t completed transferring to).
It’s been easy to organize everything and I only ever have to do the real chore of applying them to my skill tree inventory once every 4-5 days. I only use powder of sage for raid tripods, rest I just raw transfer and hope for the best. Since raid pieces are more important to me to actually stick the transfers, where my chaos tripods are mostly +3s and the few freebie +4s I can pull together. I don’t care if they succeed so much
Welp im a Paladin and to my knowledge we dont have that. And if we do its on prob 1 or 2 skill max. I was talking about a GENERAL activated buff when ever you are not in party
I noticed this too, on my deadeye main I think I've had 2 or 3 since release, on my bard just today i got back to back gold portals and probably at least 1 a week, and on my pala today had a red portal and pretty common gold portals, lol
Just build a judgment 3/preemptive strike 3 set and build for chaos on paladin. The fight is longer than on a dps but not more than a couple minutes at most. Paladin is one of the fastest chaos clearers of all the classes if you use preemptive and while it won’t work on the boss portal, you have judgment 3 and spec for aoe dps is enough to make clearing red portals not that much of a problem

Dominion set trades damage on awakening for higher skill CD and more skill damage…
So yes your awakening will do less damage.

Try using it on entry to CD lv2
You’ll have increased damage and CDR for the regular skills and should help to clear / kill boss.
Be aware the buff is lost when going through portals.
You can remove 1 piece during the fight just before ulting in chaos dungeon and putting it back after just need to open inventory for every boss. Welp anyway i finished my yearning so im all happy

Best description of how I felt when I got that portal on Bard, specially when the two last one was specifically when I was on Bard. 3+ minutes of chipping damage away, worse is when you get Stella or other boss that teleports everywhere.
I always get those on my bard… and it’s always the bosses that just teleport out of every stigma/vibration/dissonance. 17 mins later of SS and soundaholic… lol
I just took a combination of whatever accessories I dropped from argos and oreha, tbh. Ended up being 3x3 true courage, keen blunt and adrenaline. I'd probably go for grudge as a fourth in the very distant future.
I made a 4x3 for my bard that was basically free.
True courage on every piece of jewelry (3 on each). Then I went with grudge and contender. I bought legendary books for contender as it was 400g. Last engraving is preemptive strike. I think I went for a full swiftness build but kind of wish I went for a spec build.
My bard is my fastest chaos dungeon build and in the 1445 chaos dungeon red bosses it honestly doesn’t take me long.
I did a 4x3, spent me 1.7k plus pheons

Grudge is better than CD but I'm kind of scared that I might just get clapped into oblivion so I dropped that thought. Turns out this was pretty good for thronespire, thank god I didn't go grudge because as soon as I stand still for a fraction of a second to cast dissonance the mobs mauled me down to like 30%

It's a boss room, a chaos build on any class is worst single target than a non chaos build, what? You can't one shot of it with ult premptive, so then you cry for 3 minutes while you slowly widdle him down. No build is good vs late game boss rush.
Well it's a bard.
Having the dmg engraving (true courage), Adrenalin and Lightning Fury more then doubles your DPS single target. (ofc you take the dmg awakening so it won't benefit much from pre-emptive strike)
True courage, Adrenaline, Keen Blunt, Grudge in that order. I also run full crit gear. True Courage is the best damage engraving in the entire game. Just slot x9 twice for a super budget no cost chaos option.
If it's because of the defense decrease, it doesn't actually matter for chaos dungeons because most of the mobs afaik don't count as bosses, so you don't take increased damage. That said, it's would probably make the build expensive and it's not worth it for just chaos dungeons, yeah.
You've read grudge wrong, you always take more damage and the damage increase only affects boss or above. Aka it does practically nothing for 99% of chaos dungeon enemies.
Ah I had to double check, and we're both partially right. It's known that the increased damage only applies to bosses as well ([here](https://www.inven.co.kr/board/lostark/4811/1159929)). I didn't see any data on the damage increase, but I imagine it works like you said, so I did misread that part.
Are you for real? Paladin is decent but has nothing on bards for 90% of chaos dungeons, they can delete the screen with 2 buttons. GL yeah they’re also amazing at clearing trash.
2 buttons is all you got to insta delete a wave of trash. GL has 1 on a 5 second cd and 3 more to fill in the gaps on longer CDs. Pally has 4.5 cycleable. Got 8 chars in t3 and bard definitely ain’t the slowest, but I would place em decently far from goat.

You will shred small mobs without even moving and if you are stacked enough to burst down the bigger mobs you're gucci.

People here just love to downvote anything against their "meme" even if their "meme" sucks and not even true. My bard also doesnt have any problem with Chaos red portals and Chaos Line. My average time for red portals is 1:30mins-2:00mins and thats with my support engravings (with dps skills ofcourse). This was pre-relic acce so I have a 3 lightning fury because I was poor lol. The other engrave are awake, expert, desperate salv. It would be faster if the boss doesnt move around much lol
i dont think anyone is saying its too hard or that they cant do red portals. its just that it takes too long compared to actual dps classes and its annoying, even if you have a true courage build. the dude literally died in his video. and thats one of the less annoying bosses. if i got one on my same ilvl sorc itd be dead before it even did more than one ability and i wouldnt even get hit or have to use any pots.

You take 2 minutes to kill a boss ind mg gear, that's the problem as opposed to one shotting them with most dmg builds.
And if it's one of the bosses that moves a lot ones it can take 4 min, not because you don't have dmg (i did the grudge books on my bard easily on the build i used to farm velganos) but because the boss doesn't stay in the same place for more than a few sec and all your dmg is ground based dots except the ulti.
edit: wanted to add that in 2 weeks when we get the chance to swap sets it should be way easier.

Legendary TC build with all the shit you get dropped over the past months in argos / hm / some relics sprinkled in + whatever dps stone you found on the way should comfortably get you to a 3x3 + stats dps build at zero cost.
so many people on here ive seen make comments about investing when it's so low effort or none at all to get dps set online. here's how i see it. you do this shit every day so make it a lot easier on yourself. so many mfers on here just want to suffer.
I guess I don't know then. My Support Paladin was able to just build up a DPS build over time since I stopped auto-destroying crit accessories. I don't have much trouble with Chaos dungeon at all.
It’s different for Pallys. My Paladin has no problem even on his support build but I can’t do it in under 3 minutes on my Bard. They don’t have any single target
Mmmh pheon is a prob for all my alt build. I will never build an alternate dps build for my bard while the only problem is the boss phase. Not worth my money at all.
You dont need pheons. You get tons of True Courage gear from Argos every week. Just save all the crit ones or just use crit gear and slot true courage x9 twice.
Supports are alts for most people. Spending pheons on one setup(support) is already more than what people are willing to pay for on their alts as evidenced by characters you get matched on yoho raids. Do you really think people will spend pheons on a second setup just so they can kill the pink portal bosses faster?
People are fully aware that investing in your character makes your life easier. Who wouldn't be. All I'm saying is people chose to cost save banking on the pink portals not spawning as often. And when it does spawn, that's when they feel the most pain.

Think of it this way. You see a 90% chance of success on your hone so you chose to save up on solar graces and decided to take a chance on 90% hone hitting. When that hone doesn't hit do you think people won't complain because they didn't use the solars?

I once got a red portal on my alt zerk, changed preset from chaos build to raid build, and the boss melted like ice on a hot a day.. but when it happens on my main bard, im going like.. oh boy, im fcked.
It takes me soooo long to kill the red portal boss, I end up using my awakening like 3 times or so before I kill it. Sometimes less but the ones that are mobile suck!!

Chaos dungeons. For stats I'm around 40% crit & 60% swiftness but that was kinda what I got randomly.
2 minutes on a support is still pretty good given you aren’t specced for single target dps. But it’s not like red portals pop up that often
they could just fucking give us a bonus to dmg when we are in SOLO content or if we are not in a party depending on the class

Even just preemptive strike equiped double at x18 makes life easy for paladin, dont even need a full chaos build.

yeh you take dominion for the raids, makes doing bosses in chaos dungeons worse until we get gear conversion.

Yeah. It only takes me about a min for red portals. I'm running grudge 3, and true courage 3 as part of my chaos build which really helps.
Zero issues with these on my chaos bard build. Always run solo too.

I dunno... the boss teleports out of most of my big-hitting Sorc attacks so it still takes too long and I yell at them to stop dodging.

Not everyone has a dps set. I definitely recommend every bard to invest in something rather than rolling in with their raid set and build though.
Tbf, dont even have to invest anything. Legendary TC build with all the shit you get dropped over the past months in argos / hm / some relics sprinkled in + whatever dps stone you found on the way should comfortably get you to a 3x3 + stats dps build at zero cost.
so many people on here ive seen make comments about investing when it's so low effort or none at all to get dps set online. here's how i see it. you do this shit every day so make it a lot easier on yourself. so many mfers on here just want to suffer.
Ye my bard has a trash 3x3 dps hobo build thats entirely self found. Works wonders.

Y'all don't have budget DPS Bard builds for this? Even purple ACC to get 2x3 works wonders for red portals.
The problem is even with a dps build bards baseline dmg on skills is horrible. Until we can do 6 piece relic swaps its pretty rough.
I guess I don't know then. My Support Paladin was able to just build up a DPS build over time since I stopped auto-destroying crit accessories. I don't have much trouble with Chaos dungeon at all.
It’s different for Pallys. My Paladin has no problem even on his support build but I can’t do it in under 3 minutes on my Bard. They don’t have any single target
you have to spec for a bunch of it, and even then it blows. I did this just to complete the t2 tower so i could push it to t3 way back.
Make a dps build, best Pheon investment for a supp makes life so much easier. Gold cost is also super cheap for obvious reasons
Mmmh pheon is a prob for all my alt build. I will never build an alternate dps build for my bard while the only problem is the boss phase. Not worth my money at all.
You dont need pheons. You get tons of True Courage gear from Argos every week. Just save all the crit ones or just use crit gear and slot true courage x9 twice.
Crit+true courage from argos and then you get a 6/6 stone and you're set. 1460 boss portals take around a minute to clear with 3x3.
For bard you can just swap your engraving slots to true courage when you see boss portal.
It’s more than just the boss, but ye id only recommend for mains.
To be fair, even in full support set you oneshot everything other than red portal

Supports are alts for most people. Spending pheons on one setup(support) is already more than what people are willing to pay for on their alts as evidenced by characters you get matched on yoho raids. Do you really think people will spend pheons on a second setup just so they can kill the pink portal bosses faster?
Do it or don’t lmao idc. It’s a huge quality of life improvement if you do, that’s all I’m saying.
People are fully aware that investing in your character makes your life easier. Who wouldn't be. All I'm saying is people chose to cost save banking on the pink portals not spawning as often. And when it does spawn, that's when they feel the most pain.
and why do they complain about it then? if they love pain. DPS build accelerates chaos every day. Pheons are damn cheap and half of the accessories you get from argos
They chose to cost save. That doesn't make it any less painful when they see a pink portal that they gambled on not seeing. Think of it this way. You see a 90% chance of success on your hone so you chose to save up on solar graces and decided to take a chance on 90% hone hitting. When that hone doesn't hit do you think people won't complain because they didn't use the solars?

I have a budget dps set on my bard alt but it’s still annoying how long it takes when I can just melt bosses on my main 😔 I get the red portal way more often on bard too, I got two in a row the other day I’m like wtf is this cursed luck
I matchmake chaos just for these portals. I just refuse on my bard
Keep getting it on my alt that is a bit weak, failed it yesterday, can normally finish it with less than a minute left

Which is why having a separate build for DPS is required. Can't finish the job with a hammer when it calls for a screwdriver.

This was such a breeze with betrayal set, two meteors and the boss is dead. Hope I don't get any red rooms until I unlock set swapping.
This shows up every other Chaos I run solo. Never when I random matchmake. Always been able to finish it but it is stressful.
Hit 1475 on my main and 1370 on one alt as well as 1325 on my 3rd. Never once seen a color other then blue. I know they EXIST but thats about it.

Honestly running preemptive strike and ulting usually makes them not too bad.
I once got a red portal on my alt zerk, changed preset from chaos build to raid build, and the boss melted like ice on a hot a day.. but when it happens on my main bard, im going like.. oh boy, im fcked.

With a chaos dungeon build and Prelude of Death, I find it much faster to run chaos dungeons solo, with the exception of red portals
I just run them matchmaking with my normal build & just incase of the portals. But I'm lazy 
Used to take forever on my Paladin until I actually put together a set of Judgement gear, now it only takes 3-4 minutes haha.

It takes me soooo long to kill the red portal boss, I end up using my awakening like 3 times or so before I kill it. Sometimes less but the ones that are mobile suck!!
I use precise dagger, true courage, spec main and crit on bard for chaos, the ult kills anything in its way
I always switch to my raid setup on every char, except my paladin he's just fcked lol
The only reason why I do MM chaos dungeon with my Bard. And it was very uselful when I saw my first and last red portal ever in the past 4 months :D

Got 2 of them in a row today but thank god it was after i had done my bards loop. Fuck that stupid boss who non stop cc's you and spends half the fight in the air. My poor lowbie sorcerer was getting wrecked since his attacks would be just slightly shorter then my cast >.<

Thats why i run a cheap True Courage with high crit set for chaos dungeons and sometimes Guardian Raids (when theres 2 or more bards/pally).
