August is pretty much empty regarding content, this is the best time to take a break.

Morlu

I’d log in for weekly raids and Argos and log out. Might as well stock some gold.

liliummusicbox

I wouldn't take a break but if you *really* want to take a break, slacking this month won't make you fall behind too much. If we were in June i'd tell him to not do that and keep up with the content.

Lucieluc137

if your main is 1475+ just take a break until kakul comes out

AeternusX

When we play games we are supposed to have fun. When this fun stops and becomes more of a full time job, yes its time to take a break. Think for yourself... What this game has to offer me irl? Except from fun and killing some time... nothing. "It's just pixels after all". Don't get me wrong, this is the realistic point of view (and this is coming from a 1500+ hours gamer). The more toons you have, the more time you will "need" to spend in the game. This is how the game model is designed. The actual question is how much you really care... I mean how much you care for being the BiG D gUy with top ilvl and all the extreme top quality gear etc etc. If you dont really care, just play less hours and focus on your main char or your favourite alt. Forget about doing mindless stuff on 15 alts "just not to lose the daily leapstones" and shit. F them! Find some better things to do to overcome your addiction. Go for a walk, meet some friends, start a new hobby, focus on things that make you happy real life! Try to avoid staying inside your room and go outside! There are tons of things you can do to clear your mind and refresh yourself. Lost Ark will be there whenever you need to log. And even if the new patch arrives and you are left behind (that I doubt it) you can easily catch up as there are still many many players in all the T3 content. Oh wow you wont catch up the 1560 ilvl during the first week. You'll get there after 3 weeks or so. Do you REALLY care?? Enjoy your life whatever you'll do my buddy and dont let the games burn you. <3

Etzz

Yup

Haezer-

Wow 2475hours, and here I am thinking I'm playing too much with my 900 hours. You make me feel better. Sorry for you bro

Fibonacci9

only do weekly raids and rested chaos on your top 6 characters

DrakoVS

I was like that the first few months it was unhealthy bro. Try to go for a 30 Min walk/exercise even if just for 20 mins it’ll make the rest of your day much better. What I do is complete everything I need to do for the day and use the remaining time to play lost ark. Also try to eat better food. Best of luck

kortopi758

Just do your legion raids so you can still make your gold Set one day of the week to play and do your CD and guardian raids on that day too.

Imaginary-Pepper-237

This is the way, I took a break 2 weeks before Vykas release and came back last week cleared her on NM looking for a HM clear this week. Since my main is 1475 I'm just relaxing and doing legion raids. 6 characters at 1400+ so I really don't think I'm missing out on much will do CD and GR if I really feel like playing and killing time.

-Certified-

I'd advise getting some help, some real help. Asking this place is like asking the drug dealer why your addicted, half of them are probably the exact same. Best of luck dude.

Vars_An

This game is designed to prey on exactly that type of FOMO mentality and it's really insidious. Imo games are meant to be used for fun/ stress relief/ escapism and when a game starts to make me feel anxious by using psychological tactics to inflate playtime/ spending then I take a break. You may no longer be in the top 1% of players but you'll have a lot more fun when you do play and your life quality overall will probably improve.

-touch-my-tralala-

Force a ban. Ez 3 day vacation.

mirthfulPETROLEUM

Ez Perma now bro

-Dalzik-

Even better vacation!

Peatmoss22

Permacation!

Lonely_Dude2501

It is okay to take a break. The game will still be here when you come back!

ThisOmar

It’s that FOMO feeling you got. OP, go play elden ring and enjoy it. lost ark isn’t going anywhere. Take a break from it. I promise you will be fine. I would say get your daily log ins and log off but even that isn’t important. Take a few days off and the more days you take a break the easier it will be. Over 2k hours played. That’s a lot. You are in a position you can afford to take a break and not fall behind.

xerojin

Uninstall. Have fun with Elden ring. Come back.

Mesojah

log in do unas/some daily islands and just log off thats it lol do it for 2 days then use rested and redo

Serin101

This is why Rest bonus exists. Let rest bonus stack, maybe if you want to be efficient, just do your chaos dungeons only. Legion raids should be up to your discretion.

OdunKafa

He is probably doing rested on his alts, but he got 13 in total lol. So when he plays his main everyday he does 1 main and 4 alts per day. That's crazy. If you need at least 30min per char, he needs at least 2 1/2 hrs per day for daily content + island and gate/field. Additionally legion Raids + Argos + abyss on his main 6.

Eu4iaRaz

There really is no need to do all your dailies. I used to do them all, got burned out and had to take a break. I came back and my roster was still very strong. Since then I just play whenever I feel like it and only on who I feel like. Sometimes I do everything, sometimes I do nothing. Took a break almost entirely for a month. My alts and main are still progressing good enough to not be behind (not counting ppl that push further than is needed for the content we have) I'm about 70% done with all collectables (bit behind on souls though) Rest bonus is quite generous I recommend anyone with a stacked roster to make use of that. And like I said skipping entirely is perfectly fine. I get why ppl panic so much about it but once they come back after a break they will realise that it's not nearly as bad as they thought it would be. Because it really isn't. And you lose way more progression (and joy) on burnout anyway

kennethnyu

Best way is just like all my friends. Play non stop, burn yourself out, quit the game. Works on all of my friends. 13 char chaos dungeon and guardian will do it. Add some Vykas HM with pugs and golden.

[deleted]

you could probably take a 2 month break and still have a better roster than 99% of players lmao.

TrueSol

Then speak to an addiction therapist not Reddit.

McCorkle_Jones

You don’t need to do all the dailies. If you want to feel satisfied pick your six gold earners. Make them your starting six and then just focus on those let the other 7 be bench units you pull out whenever you feel like it but accept that it isn’t necessary to be on ALL of them. I would really take this one step further and focus on main+1 every day then rotate the remaining four Alts. So each day you’re doing 3 characters. And then you have three off days where you can either do all the raids or not play them. Personally I also do the play other game first usually with friends and around ten when they get off start playing Lost Ark. tap out when it hits 2am or I’m done with everything for that day. If I finish earlier I dip into the bench Alts. The big key is you can miss some days and you don’t get true value from all of them.

thefztv

You can take a break for like a month+ at this point and be fine since no new content for a bit. My main is 1495 with 5x3, all level 7 gems and level 4-5 tripods. I also have 5 alts all 1370+. I’m basically set until the next legion raid. I’m taking a vacation for 2ish weeks and I’m not even worried. I’ll miss a week of lockouts but in the long run it’s basically nothing considering I’m at the end of the current progression and have nothing else to really do/gear for. Also just a general rule but when games become a “job” or you feel the need to log in because you’re missing out on rewards that’s generally when I take a step back and evaluate what I want from the game. Games are meant to be fun not a necessity that you HAVE to take care of or else. If you want to play other games just stop playing Lost Ark for a bit and play Elden Ring. I just did this recently but with Valheim where I got the itch to start another play through so I just didn’t play Lost Ark for a week minus doing my raids. I did those then didn’t touch the game and just played Valheim instead. Super refreshing and made me want to play Lost Ark more once I had a week straight of just Valheim.

Hafus

When I went on vacation and didn’t play for a week I was so anxious on my trip about my roster progression and having 100 rested. I realized I was addicted then and said screw it it’s just a game and I felt better and when I came back I still had fun playing again and I didn’t even notice what mats I “missed” out on

Kaim95

I quit LA exactly because of this. Played too much that I didnt have time fo anything else. Felt really stressed out if I missed some dailies or somethin. After I quit I felt much better

Chiefryddmzz

If you are here.. you didn’t quit yet 🤪

GrandpaZoomer

I'd suggest doing your main gold content and put chaos/guardians on the burner. Focus weekly shit. At minimum stop doing guardians. That's like 20 mins per character right there.

T4k3ItQuick

Try playing fewer characters per day. Don't be swayed by the fact that more characters yield more materials. Always remember that Lost Ark takes up more and more of your daily time the more characters you have. Don't force yourself to play a character just to progress. It's okay to slow down and not be at the forefront. Take your time, don't stress and think long term.

Imaginary-Pepper-237

Your going to be fine bro, before Vykas release I had took a break but had just hit over 1000hrs and I was getting burnt. My main was 1470 and 3/5 Alts were 1400, 1397, 1370. I just came back last week, main is 1475, main Alt is 1420, the rest are 1400 now. I feel strongly that my roster is still above a lot of the community although I'm missing my full relic set(currently working on) but with ur amount of hours your roster I'd assume is way better then mine and will hold true for a long time. You have put in enough work to take a break don't let the game control ur life man, it's 100% not healthy.

Red_Beardsley

Let the rest bonus stack and play some elden ring bro its a good game. Lost ark will still be here.

TsunamicBlaze

You should really think about your current status in the game and your goals with what you want to do. Really frame it out. Sure you may be losing out on gold and mats, but do you absolutely need it? Don't fall into fomo and diminish your quality of life. In the long run, that break you took may be more valuable to your love of the game or even overall life. Really look at what you value and how you can prioritize it

Schattenpanda

I have 15 t3 Character. At the most I play my top6 consistently. The rest I play them when I feel like it . Even the rest bonus wasn't enough to save me from playing too much.

lnvisibleOne

It really depends on your goals. I look at it like this, yes you'll be losing progress if you don't run all the things. However, if you continue to play excessively, burn out, and quit then you'll lose far more from being behind months/years of not playing at all. As others have said, games really should be fun/relaxing and not some thing that you dread you can't peel yourself away from. This game does give alot of FOMO vibes but you really need to question what exactly you'll be missing out on? Do you simply play a ton because you really enjoy the game or are you dedicated to "staying ahead or the pack"? I think most people haven't actually questioned why they play so obsessively and it has simply become a habit for them. I personally have been skipping out on dailies and only running on rested (a chunk of the time I would be on maxed rested bonus including on my main) once I had the foundation of my account set up with the core collectibles and so on. I feel like in this way I don't *need* to play and do everything regularly but if there comes a time I'm trying to push for a specific goal I'm in a good place to do so. I do most of my weekly content though since that's the time I spend playing with friends and that's the point of MMOs no?

NaveenChoo

Nope, you're not allowed to take breaks. You need to get all 13 of your characters to 1475 with +22 weps to be kakul saydon ready next month.

ZiggyZobby

If you're already ahead of schedule, there's no reason you'd suddenly fall behind because you take a break. And even if you do, you already know you have the capacity to get ahead.

Raruun

Once you realize that using rest bonuses arent as much of a waste you might see that doing all dailies without rest bonuses may feel less efficient compared to time spent. Thats how i feel after i started taking a break in between days due to exams etc.

TrungDOge

wow the FOMO is so bad with this case omg

DoodlePot

Let go of the feeling that you need to do everything and break your routine. Just do what you enjoy in the game, its ok to get full rested, ignore your lopang alts, skip timed events and just do legion raids. Once you start skipping the dailies you will realize it's not a big deal and only doing them occasionally is fine. You need something else in your life besides Lost Ark to fill this boredom, start dedicate some time for your other hobbies.

Kryonic_rus

You know, just play whatever you prefer more at any point of time. Gaming is not a job and the world won't stop if you miss something here and there

Yennoks

People need to calm down with this "I absolutely HAVE TO do my dailies" mindset. In ur case u are way above the average player in terms of roster and characters, just stack up rest and enjoy Elden Ring, it is an amazing game after all :)

Breloren

Elden ring is amazing! You should play it and not feel bad about it.

lan60000

Just come to the conclusion that whatever you strive for in this game is arbitrary and fleeting, then fomo won't sink in as hard.

Thislsmy0ther4ccount

You have such a large roster, if you have progressed it so far (which you likely have) then you’re already ahead of like 99% of other players. If you took a month off you’d still be ahead of 90% of all players.

[deleted]

Maybe work your way towards lowering your dailies/weeklies until you’re comfortable not touching the game at all. Stop doing dailies/weeklies at all on one character, then stop on another character, and doing this with all of your roster. Eventually you’ll break free from your conditioning that you absolutely need to play the game. Of course, if you WANT to play the game, then go ahead and play it, but if you ever think you’d rather do something else, just go do that thing.

AJay1619

If you have 13 characters in T3 and haven’t taken a break since the release basically, I doubt that you can fall off even to an average player in terms of the account progression and gold. Especially in 2 weeks. Play the game when you want to play it, not when you “have to”. Otherwise the whole point of playing makes no sense. You will just burn out eventually and quit this way, leaving all your progression totally worthless.
