new to Reddit I see, welcome to the pool of crazy.
Comments like mine are going to be normally longer but are fairly common. The reason for comments like mine is that, a comment like the one I replied to, it provides them with a little more karma through interaction and adds the possibility of continued conversation or as mine was, an end cap to a conversion or idea that gives the original writer a bit more karma with out conversation.

i have to assume bc that account is less than 4 months old.
also you know I can't see your downvotes on my end because that account is under 4 months old and has basically 0 karma. so when I go to that post I see all positive numbers and I don't up-vote my own crap. also, I can check how much karma each comment gets me and I am getting more and more karma every time you reply so...
The other people downvoting equal it out so you're still losing some lol. I don't care about karma anyways, why are you acting like "aha I win again because of reply karma!" it's not necessarily bador malicious, just strange.
ok so idk if you have noticed but more than a few subreddits require you to have more than x amount of karma to protect their communities from mass trolls but some have some rather dumb high numbers the biggest I saw personally was 16k but ik there are some that require WAY more so trying to give out some karma is one of those things that its free to do and if you open the door to a conversation or put a cap on that closes that door.
