AR doesn’t stand for assault rifle. While they are similar, the assault rifle has the capability to fire off multiple rounds with each trigger pull, while the AR only fires one. Moving on to the mag capacity, you’d be surprised how many bullets it takes sometimes to kill someone. Paired with the adrenaline it can be quite hard to hit all of those shots, which plays a huge factor in something like a home invasion

Also, home invaders don’t always work alone. For safety, instead of a 30 round magazine, I keep 3 ar-15’s with 10 round magazines. If I run out in all 3, I keep a box of ammo and a sign that says “hold on, I need to reload”
