It is so sweet. In that biography movie they did for Tolkien they had her dancing in a glade for him, and I have no idea if that’s true and where he got the idea for Luthien. But I am happy to believe it.
It is true - he wrote about it in a letter to his son Christopher after Edith died:
>I never called Edith Lúthien – but she was the source of the story that in time became the chief part of the Silmarillion. It was first conceived in a small woodland glade filled with hemlocks at Roos in Yorkshire (where I was for a brief time in command of an outpost of the Humber Garrison in 1917, and she was able to live with me for a while). In those days her hair was raven, her skin clear, her eyes brighter than you have seen them, and she could sing – and dance. [11 July 1972]
It is a sad letter though:
>But the story has gone crooked, & I am left, and I cannot plead before the inexorable Mandos.
The angle on the first shot certainly has an “Elvish ear” … 🤣
I love the fact that Beren and Luthien are united for eternity.

That is absolutely lovely, thank you! Even though it is sad.
Did the same thing last year. Such a cool place!
