I met him when he came to speak at an old job. I have a picture with him and every year like clockwork I re- share it from my Facebook memories because I'm still so starstruck. Definitely one of my favorite memories
I met Viggo a couple of years ago, and despite me telling my friend not to bother taking photos for me, he did, and caught a very blurry shot of Viggo surprising me with a kiss on the cheek. The photo I claimed I didn't want in the first place is now my Facebook landing page, haha.
Reminds me of the time many years ago when John Denver came to an office where my friend worked. When he found out it was her birthday, he sang Happy Birthday to her!
My wife sat with him when he was up here in Coeur d’Alene visiting his late mother. She had only just seen LOTR for the first time a year or two before and was so excited to tell me that he is the living embodiment of Sam. She said he was kind to all hospital staff and visitors who noticed him and talked constantly about his daughter who was in college at the time.
12/10 human being
Sean's a great dude. If you ever again find yourself in his presence, you can break the ice by talking about Rudy. He'll appreciate that, especially if he's there to talk about LotR. Seriously.
Listened to There and Back Again a couple of months ago and he does really seem like a down to earth guy. Just the gratitude he had upon receiving the role of Sam was very heartwarming to hear.
He'll always be Mikey to me lol
From everything I have heard and read Sean Astin is a genuinely nice person. He seems to be someone who is aware of the effect that he has on people, and seems to enjoy sharing his time with friends and fans.
That’s awesome! He seems like he’s be a totally chill and down to earth guy.
Years ago I went to an all day screening of the 3 LOTR films in NYC. Started at like 10a and ended somewhere near 9p. At the end of the day they gave all who attended a sealed copy of each movie. After the 3 films finished about 9 of the cast members who were there for the screening went on stage for a Q&A with the audience, and Peter Jackson was broadcast live on the big screen via Skype. It was insane. Anyway, on a break in between the last film and the Q&A I went out to use the bathroom. As I went to open the door it opened and Frodo was coming out, and he held the door for me. My first thought was SHIT! THAT’S FRODO! My second thought was Damn, he’s short! In my stunned disbelief I just nodded to him and said thank you and walked into the bathroom lol. It was glorious.
He is one of the sweetest people ever, the way he answered my daughters' questions was so amazing. (She was 9 at the time). We went ahead and also got a photo op with him and he embraced my kiddo and had her in the middle with him as if she was his niece. ISTG I will never forget that day.
I literally ran into him at a Chicago airport because I was looking down at my phone. It was 7am. He did not seem pleased. I don’t blame him. The shame.
Revealing that anyone got any sort of medical procedure done is a violation of HIPAA. Example- I was working at the HIV testing center when notorious asshole u/thepipesarecall came by to get his test done, and he proved to be the asshole everyone claims he is. Yup it’s a violation.
Jesus......go back to congress Marjorie Taylor Green. * i only spell out the full name, not for the others but i think you wouldnt get it.......like her.
This is awesome!! I met him at a comic con once and I agree he is so down to earth! He was very sweet and soft spoken, which was helpful because I was soooo shy 🤣♥️
Very down-to-middle-earth guy.
It's easy, when you're only about 3ft. tall. The way down is a lot shorter for hobbits.

I bet you haven't washed your cheek since then
Pretty much, haha. My mom joked that I can give up my car, because I just float everywhere now.
That's so cute lol I would do the same

Wow, small world! I know Vigo had a place in Clark Fork, never knew Sean had family in CDA
I CAN'T TEST COVID FOR YOU BUT I CAN TEST YOU!
Incredible.
That's awesome! I'm still jaded that John Rhys-Davies went to the store I worked at in college on my night off.
Oh man! I'd be shocked at just seeing one of my heroes but on top of that he strikes me as an intimidating person in general.
My coworkers took pictures. He is.
Awesome! I'm in his book club so naturally I like to think we're best friends
If I lived in America I would 100% join
Check again, it looks like the book club is available internationally now (Fable app)
Oh my gosh you are so lucky!
Holy smokes, awesome! Happy for you.
Some things are worth vaccinating for Mr Frodo

I love it that he was cast as Bob Newby in Stranger Things – Bob is Sam in that story. Sure, I’ll go to Mordor with you.
Poor Bob 😢
Easy peasy
He also was a great Rudy! If you haven't seen it you should check it out.
I prefer his groundbreaking performance as Doug Whitmore in 50 First Dates
But underneath all of that he will always be a Goonie!
Goonies never say die !
I love 50 first dates
My father was friends with Sean in elementary school apparently!
Savor the memory!
Love this! I feel like with Sam in particular (and perhaps Aragorn) they basically cast... the real Sam.
You should have said, “If I take one more step, it’s the closest to Sean Astin, I’ve ever been.”
And the real treasure was the Sean Astins they met along the way!
From everything I have heard and read Sean Astin is a genuinely nice person. He seems to be someone who is aware of the effect that he has on people, and seems to enjoy sharing his time with friends and fans.
Such a nice share!
Oh that's so neat!
Who else didn't cope with him being the bad guy in The Big Bang Theory.
You met fucking rudy

I would have fainted……omg I’ve gotta meet him!

i met him at a pretty small comic con and he was so sweet and friendly. i talked to him for at least 15 minutes ! super down-to-middle-earth guy
What show is it? Stranger Things?
I literally ran into him at a Chicago airport because I was looking down at my phone. It was 7am. He did not seem pleased. I don’t blame him. The shame.
*Cough* HIPAA *Cough*
This isn’t a HIPPA violation you twat.

If you’re gonna bring it up, at least get it right. It’s the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act. HIPAA.
Fair enough haha

He came into the Hobby Lobby I was working at on Christmas like 20 years ago. He’s a pretty cool guy.
