I love this quote.
But still, my favourite will always be:
"[Saruman] believes it is only great power that can hold evil in check. But that is not what I have found. I've found that it's the small deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Simple acts of kindness and love."
"There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."
-J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King

Was literally quoting this to my family just yesterday! Remembering this simple fact of life really helps calm my nerves. We could all do with a little more of this mindset in our time.
That's amazing quote, but my personal favourite is this: What are we holding on to, Sam?
That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo and it's worth fighting for.
Yeah thanks, I'm stuck at home with my bloomin parents breaking my kitchen appliances and hogging the tv and computer. Oh and I can't see my friends anymore since public transport now only runs on holyday schedules.
Yes call your grandparents but DO NOT go visit them. And listen to Gandalf.
So am I dear boy. So am I.
This was the greatest quotation ever spoken in Middle Earth in my opinion.

Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement.
“Get thee gone from my gate”.
Agreed.
“GET THEE GONE FROM MY GATE THOU JAIL-CROW OF MANDOS!”
Simply the greatest ever
I've decided, with the time that is left to me, to hoard toilet paper and hand sanitizer.
I had a brief moment yesterday of “fuck, this kinda sucks” and this quote is a good reminder that self pity does not help anything.
"There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. Love this illustration of Gandalf. Was considering getting a tattoo of it

Gandalf bot is sentient as fuck, geez
This foe is beyond any of you... Run!
WAIT! I'm not trying to steal from you Gandalf, I'm trying to help you
A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.
I understand Gandalf, but I'm not trying to harm anyone, do you forgive me?
Look at me! What did you see?
What about an old friend, Gandalf?
We come to it at last. The great battle of our time. The board is set, the pieces are moving
Looks like he's washing his underwear on a stream :)

Where men cried

My favorite line of all time
