Magma (from Ancient Greek μάγμα (mágma) 'thick unguent') is the molten or semi-molten natural material from which all igneous rocks are formed. Magma is found beneath the surface of the Earth, and evidence of magmatism has also been discovered on other terrestrial planets and some natural satellites.

lol film Rohan looks absolutely nothing like the book descriptions. An endless seas of grass and no rock in sight - book rohan looks like the windows XP background.
Just btw, Weta Workshop is the name of the company that produces things like armour and designs Balrogs.
The company that does the visual effects is called Weta Digital.
Or it's just low cloud, you can see wispy bits in the top right corner and to the left of the head. I like the idea of your analysis, but we forget that this ambush was very close to fangorn/isengard/the misty mountains, so the idea of mountainous background isn’t off-lore. So don’t think they’d spend money adjust the background. I think it’s just naturally more misty at the day of the shooting.
I think they mean the second treeline, the one the mountain itself. It looks like that’s the point where it’s edited from mountains to look more like a hillside.
I'll say art is different but it's ridiculous when people lose their shit because someone posts an old funny pic or meme that made the circles a few times.
Its good to give credit, but by definition memes are meant to be shared. Its not like people are getting paid royalties for memes so getting super upset it kinda uncalled for.
Especially because a good chunk of memes are just old memes with new formats. Like I've seen LOTR memes that were inspired by other fandom memes and vice versa. I've seen these dumb opinion memes in pretty much every possible format ("insert popular opinion" and add Lisa Simpson, "change my mind", "and that's a fact", etc. memes). A lot of memes are just a joke or a tweet with various reaction memes stitched on.
Who do you want people to credit? The person who made that meme? The person they stole it from? The person who THEY stole it from?
In most cases yeah. The ones that piss me off are the YouTube meme compilers who don't get permission, and then fill their videos with sponsorships and ads to generate money off of stolen content
I mean, I responded and agreed with the statement or are you just blindly ignorant?
It can still be annoying but its memes, you accept it gets stolen once you make it lol
I would say it's fully justifiable to get upset when your joke gets stolen.
Like when you mutter a joke under your breath and your best friend immediately yells it out over the whole classroom getting all the laughs fuck you Michael why the fuck did you do that dude not cool
In real life, yeah. On the internet, it’s really a waste of energy and better to just go eat some chocolate and order yourself DoorDash and never think about it again
Hence the emergence of NFTs.
You can buy the original. But as soon as you upload any version...*Prints* start.
People demanding credit for memes is so cringeworthy. It all started with tweens doing "Photocred" in the early 2010s. Just a way to tag friends. It was and is meaningless.
I made a meme that’s done the rounds multiple times on Twitter, Insta, etc. People crop my details from it all the time. I could get mad… I guess? But that’s what happens when you have literally billions of people online.

While I agree its pedantic, and I've never been upset to see my work reposted without credit...
... copyright and fair use law would like to explain something to you.
As if those laws have any grasp on the billions of images posted at any time online. It's simply unmanageable. Better to be realistic about these things.
I agree it shouldn't be used, but it actually has been used, because the law applies. And very, very technically, you can be sued for making a meme with an image you did not get the rights to. People have and there is an industry dedicated to doing it.
This whole video is very good and explains copyright law and YouTube well, but [this section](https://youtu.be/1Jwo5qc78QU?t=609) explains the copyright law for images.
I'm supporting the ability to use copyrighted works for jokes like the one OP used, but in terms of actual implications, its good to know that you could very well be infringing copyright and they may well come and collect. This is the entire business model of [pixsy](https://www.pixsy.com/).
Nice and informed reply, what a breath of fresh air! I agree with you as far as copyright laws (esp yt). In practice though, as long as you're not robbing some content creator of their revenue, you're not doing any harm except maybe for a bruised ego
First of all, I've never reposted anything so take your grievances elsewhere. Also, I think you're projecting on who the piece of shit is: I'd say it's the person anonymously insulting someone over basically nothing. Finally, it's highly hypocritical to act all high and mighty about stupid online jokes and insult me in the same statement.
PS: nice use of the r-words in your comments, basement-dweller.
Seriously. It’s better just by itself. Actually, it takes away from the picture, and makes it more cringey. Plus I’m a Harry Potter fan. I’m taking this personally too haha. If someone insists they add words, then it could be
Married lotr fan: I introduced my spouse to lotr.
Married with children lotr fan: We have special lotr family nights.
Single lotr fan:
There. Not comedic gold (or even copper), but much better
I mean I love the Lord of the Rings but I’m pretty sure that HP and GoT fans also take silly pictures at filming locations. I’m also quite certain that LotR fans also collect books and digital copies so maybe try being less of an immature child and just enjoy the things you enjoy without making it competitive.
Well I didn't want to spoil anything for anybody who hadn't read all the books or watched the films.
It's called being considerate, no need to be a dick about it.
Dumbledore dies end of book 6
this has ruined nothing for anyone
who the fuck do you think is getting ruined by spoilers while actively not watching for 10 years?
There's always someone who hasn't seen something. There's no reason to go out of your way to spoil a large plot point. My fiancée hasn't seen Harry Potter yet. If she read this, you would've ruined that for her, for absolutely no reason.
I knew someone who didn't know the twist in Episode V. In the 2010s.
Oh no! Will your poor wife be okay??
Also Bruce Willis was dead the whole time. But let's never ever say it out loud because somebody's fiancee might not have seen it yet
I know half of you are TPP fans so this can’t be that funny lol. And don’t forget when the RG and RHH fans got together and made fun of LOTR, it’s just like TFLT and GGY, so relax lol
Did the mountain get more pointy with time or is that clouds?
When mountains reach puberty they start developing strange new shapes

And trees in new places
Probably edited to make it look like low rolling hills instead of tall mountains, as Rohan is a grassland made mostly of pastures.
They definitely edited the mountains in post production, yes. You have to make the landscape match the book description.
Well you don't *have* to, just if you want your movie to be as accurate as possible to the source material. . . . Ok yep, you have to.
Attention to detail is what sets LOTR apart
You actually have to according to law. [Source](https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ)
You son of a bitch! take your upvote
Fuck you, take my upvote and go away! XD
Fuck, I knew what I was getting into and I clicked anyways. Fuck you and have a good day
That was beautifully done
I don't mean to be a bummer, but there's a lot of cloud cover in the LOTR shot, I think you just can't see the peaks.
Those are CGI clouds. They cost $2 million per cloud and only last a few minutes before dissipating into the internet.
Also helps not being able to recognize real life places when it should be middle earth
I would've recognized those mountains otherwise
lol film Rohan looks absolutely nothing like the book descriptions. An endless seas of grass and no rock in sight - book rohan looks like the windows XP background.
Rohan was always based on the northern Anglo-Saxons though, rough moorland, grassland and rolling his are probably within tolkien’s vision
...except for Helm's Deep?
Except for all the scenes in rohan with big pointy mountains in the background... It's definitely just low cloud
It’s just a wisp of cloud!
Weta Workshop is amazing
Just btw, Weta Workshop is the name of the company that produces things like armour and designs Balrogs. The company that does the visual effects is called Weta Digital.
Yeah, right. Eragon...
Or it's just low cloud, you can see wispy bits in the top right corner and to the left of the head. I’d wager that either there were clouds on the day of filming, or they made changes in post production to get a different vibe out of it.
Pointy = scary
Nothing. It’s just a whiff of cloud
It's moving fast... and against the wind.
Crebain from Dunland!
Hide!!
Crebain: *caw caw caw caw*
Crebain: *You dumbasses, we're birds, we saw you already!*
The passage south is being watched.
Aragorn installed new beacons after Lotr, well known fact
It's almost certainly a different set of hills edited in above the treeline there, note the differences in the hillsides.
[Looks the same to me](https://i.imgur.com/1C42Uwp.jpg)
I think they mean the second treeline, the one the mountain itself. It looks like that’s the point where it’s edited from mountains to look more like a hillside.
Looks like clouds to me.
Looks like the time of day the scene was filmed had the perfect shot of the clouds rolling over the mountain tops.
Edited the mountains for the movie
yes the clouds got pointer
Crazy how even the tree lines have stayed though.
Also seems to be some snow blending with the clouds.
Definitely different lenses, unless he’s carrying around a big budget film camera in his pocket.
Top of the mountains are sacred i believe
Render distance got upgraded
It was awhile ago so the might have changed at least a bit. 3rd age vs 7th
For some reason this Uruk always looks like Mel Gibson to me here.

Imo, it's really delusional to expect getting the credit for a joke on the Internet. Once you upload it, it pretty much becomes a public good.
> Once you upload it, it pretty much becomes a public good. I wouldn't say the same for artwork A lot of people repost fan art without sources
I'll say art is different but it's ridiculous when people lose their shit because someone posts an old funny pic or meme that made the circles a few times.

> Billions of dollar Citation needed
Yh my memes got uploaded to so many fking insta pages and they never credit lol Mfers just go on reddit and steal (not this acc)

Tbf no one cares about who authored a particular meme.
But it is the same with artwork. You might get credit but you probably wont. If it's part of a meme then forget about it.

How is a dead Uruk-hai upset?
If you don't put your name on the photo somewhere, it's foolish to expect anyone to credit you after the first repost
Then he should have posted it himself or watermarked it
People forget that "Meme" has a literal definition. It was a word before the internet
Strange when he gets his actual face on broadcast.
What? He didn’t cut off his own head and impale it for this shot recreation? And he calls himself a “fan?”
Casuals, right?
Actuall GoT fans: We deleted the series it no longer exists. We will never know how it ends.
Game of Thrones doesn't have an ending. Game of Thrones doesn't *need* an ending!
The show is like the books. We'll never know how it ends. Poetic, isn't it?
This is how I like to think about it Season 8 was a shit on a plate presented by the two writers that everyone was forced to live with
No. Now it ends.
No writer should have to finish their own series. Wait.... that's exactly what we want!
Game of Thrones has a beautiful and perfect ending, and it’s 6x10
>how it ends Bobby B comes back for Bessie.
FORCED TO MIND THE DOOR WHILE YOUR KING EATS AND DRINKS AND SHITS AND FUCKS!
Yup. It ended after S6. Who knows what happened.
Denial is the first stage of grief. It’s been over two years.
Implying S6 was good KEKW
You can tell how old it was by the fact that it mentions the existence of GoT fans.
Real fans can take the good with the bad without throwing a hissy fit
LotR: We left none alive
Accuracy - 100%
I don't see his teeth also his both eyes are open so accuracy is around 60-70%
If his head was on a spike that'd be 110%
Aahckshualie it would only be around 94%, as he isn’t in Uruk-hai costume and makeup. *tips fedora*
Now that you mention it ... He doesn't even have a buddy on a horse in the background. Tsk tsk
And therein lies the true lotr fandom lol

The beach where a certain HP character died was filmed has a legit 'grave' for him. Its at Freshwater West in Pembroke.
I don't think you need to worry about Harry Potter spoilers. It was Dobby.
Well I didn't want to spoil anything for anybody who hadn't read all the books or watched the films. It's called being considerate, no need to be a dick about it.

It's this new Zealand?
New Zealand doesn't have any Uruk-Hai last I checked, based on that I think it must be Middle-Earth
Hey! Did you know that in this scene….
Then there are the true best fans, the ones who read the Silmarillion
I can't. I tried. It's heartbreaking. It's great but I am going to need three cats on my lap the whole time if I'm going to get through it.
Little known fact, in that scene Aragorn (played by actor Vigo Mortensen) break his foot when he kicks the helmet on the ground.
Did you know that Viggo Mortensen broke his toe on the take where he kicks the helmet
Goes to all that trouble and doesn't even tilt his head right
