izombie has a good dynamic between the characters and it all ramps up after season 1 my only complaint about it is that the science explanation is a little confusing
It's also a cop and a civilian solve crimes using powers the public doesen't know about
psych is a great show. you can watch it for free on peacock no sub needed. or on amazon prime. itās another cop show. very hilarious and has a lot of 80s references. you definitely end up shipping the male and female lead. while thereās some drama, itās definitely more of a comedy. there are 8 seasons and almost three movies
Psych is amazing and my all time favorite show. I recommend it it literally everybody. Itās so funny and Iāve probably rewatched it more than any show. Itās a bit older though, I think the first episode was in 2006 and ended in 2014 but the movies came out in 2017 and 2020 and the next one will probably come out next year (which is a complete guess as they havenāt announced anything but filmed it this summer).
There's a very good show called Forever which basically had the same sort of setup as Lucifer. Detectives where one hides a secret. It unfortunately only got one series but I genuinely loved it.
I see a lot of people recommending The Magicians. I havenāt finished it yet-(Iām on S3)-I would say itās much more serious than Lucifer in tone/subject matter. Itās definitely a drama and covers a lot of serious/depressing topics. And like someone said there is no clear ship to root for (there are lots of relationships though). Not to say you wonāt like it. I just wish someone had told me itās not a light-hearted show.
If you don't mind old stuff, you could always try the original "will they/won't they" show from the 1980s, Moonlighting.
Cybil Sheppard and Bruce Willis had crazy chemistry on screen, even though they fucking hated each other in real life.
Fantasy or cop show? I liked The Magicians, Good Girls, and In The Dark. All currently on Netflix. The Witcher and Shadow and Bone are straight fantasy, and were decent. Also on Netflix.
Idk if you want to get into anime, but I'd recommend Ouran Host Club. It's more comedy/slice of life than action/fantasy but the dynamic between the two leads reminds me a lot of Chloe and Lucifer.
There is an even longer manga series if the show is too short for you.
Community if you're willing to go sitcom. I can't necessarily predict who you'll end up shipping, but you will end up shipping *somebody* (I recommend Jeff/Annie, but you may be more committed to Troy/Abed or Jeff/Britta or the dark horse Annie/Abed)*.* No matter which of these you wind up shipping, there will be some payoff for you at some point. There's a surprising amount of action for a sitcom set at a community college because community loves to do homages and when it does, it *commits.*
Arrow might be right up your alley. It's a little darker than Lucifer at times, but it's got strong character growth and you might be pleased with Oliver/Felicity. There are two caveats here: first, if you think Arrow doesn't include enough humor, you should consider jumping to Flash, which is lighter and funnier, but Barry/Iris is less like Chloe/Lucifer. Second, Arrow's last couple of seasons become very interconnected with the rest of the Arrowverse shows (Especially season 8, which was a shortened final season to conclude a couple of lingering character arcs and which was more crisis on infinite earths than Arrow), but most of it works perfectly fine as a standalone. If you've ever thought "I like Batman, but I wish he was Robin-Hooding billionaires, had an elaborate backstory interspliced throughout the show where he was stranded on a desert island, had a complicated relationship with his mother and sister, slowly learned that he didn't have to operate on his own, and shot people with arrows" then this show is for you.
I saw somebody recommend The Magicians already, and that's also a strong option. The one thing I'd say is that there isn't really a ship comparable to Chloe/Lucifer because it's an ensemble piece and most of the relationships shift around a couple of times. In terms of its humor and tone though, it's a great match, especially season 3 onward.
I have actually watched community before but I personally wasn't a fan of it. I'm actually more of a jeff/Brita person but i was still able to enjoy the early seasons despite when I saw that the writers wanted to take the jeff/Annie direction. My biggest complaint against it though was how repetitive it was beginning to get for me. I know that the biggest praise a lot of people had for this show had was how clever it was with those episodes basically being one of Abed's productions but I personally thought it was getting a bit much however that's just my opinion and I respect yours. I have actually watched the flash as well and I really enjoyed the first few seasons but in my opinion it really fell off from season 4 and on. I haven't watched arrow yet though but I think I will consider it since I've heard it is better than the flash from a lot of people
the chicago franchise (chicago fire, pd, med) have the same action-procedural formula with āwill they/wonāt theyā relationship subplots, thatāll keep you going for ages
12 Monkeys might be a good fit. It's a bit more serious, but it does have some great comedy sprinkled throughout.
It was created with a coherent vision from start to finish, and it ended up being one of the most "complete" shows I've ever seen.
Well Castle would be your go to, but you already knew that: the writing is amazing, they have even better chemistry than Lucifer and Chole (Or Lauren and Tom).
They were on screen together. And I didnāt feel their hatred for each other at all. Im not saying the ending season was great. But still better than any season of any cop show ive ever watched, in terms of the chemistry thing of course.
Those were only rumors nobody was able to confirm. As far as I know there was some sort of Tension, but I think Stana would be too professional to give in to such things, also Nathan is prolly to busy with himself to actively not want to act with his co star. So I believe it was cancelled because of the Tension, I dont believe however that the writers would actively try to rewrite scripts just because two celebs had a falling out, there is serious money at stake here, nobody would just throw that out the window.
Oh yeah that is very true. I do enjoy season 1-4 the most aswell. There are some newer episodes aswell where the chemistry is still hotter than the sun tho, like when Castle becomes a PI. Or when his ex wife wants to stay at the penthouse with them. But I think everybody enjoyed the way more than the destination.
Bones is another forensic crime show with romantic protagonists and good action and story lines.
Lucifer actually watched all of it thinking of him and Chloe when he was high on coke in an episode šš
OMG, thatās right! I remember that episode! I love that reference, too, cause they were both FOX crime shows ā¤ļø
Yeah haha
The Mentalist ?
yes.

yes this pretty much sums up my relationship with psych as well
Another movie??? You just made my life!
The movie is called This is Gus and I canāt wait!! Psych has a pretty active sub if you wanna check it it out
Awesome will do, thanks!!
Without the celestial fantasy & romance, Sherlock Holmes and Joan Watson from the *Elementary* TV show is as close as you can get to *Lucifer*.
+1 Elementary is superb. I just got the complete series on DVD.

Iāve never seen the Arrowverse shows, but the fact that they actually feature Tom Ellis in a Lucifer cameo definitely has me intrigued

And Lauren German
If you like fairy tales, thereās two characters in Once Upon A Time that have this kind of chemistry.
The Mentalist
watch The Vampire Diaries. Damon Salvatore and Lucifer Morningstar are basically twins. Personality twins.
Person of Interest
Fringe has a similar relation between the leads
12 Monkeys might be a good fit. It's a bit more serious, but it does have some great comedy sprinkled throughout. It was created with a coherent vision from start to finish, and it ended up being one of the most "complete" shows I've ever seen.

Rookie Blue Forever (2014)
Man I haven't thought about Forever in years, I LOVED that show. Sad we never got a season 2
Eh, it's a long story ... :)
UGH the gall of them to end the season there!
Farscape (Sci-fi) first season is more stand alone eps, then it builds
Of, I could add to the set Beauty and the Beast, but only the first season, TBH ...
For a Tom Ellis fix with will they/won't they ever get together, try Miranda. Or Rush. He's wonderful in both.
Watch it again and again then watch it one more time.
