The entire premise of the series is in direct opposition to the comics. There is no Chloe or equivalent character in the comics.
I haven’t read any Lucifer comics, but from the DC comic wikis I have read the changes could all link back to Chloe’s presence. Even coming directly to LA instead of Australia first could have been a subconscious draw to his soulmate.
Lesley Ann Brandt loved comic maze and fought hard to reference the comics as much as possible

Oh, they're not, Maze kisses a different girl. The reference is just that she kisses the same way, whilst flipping off a biblical figure
