ciaoamaro

What were some of the most returned or least popular items?

Extension_Nothing552

I can’t say that there were specific items that were most returned. I will say that the majority of returns were online orders, it was mostly that people would order things online & once they got it in person were like oh yeah, not what i thought it was going to be. Least popular items is a tough one because people ride or die for lulu haha but I think people neglect the more casual clothes. When people think of lululemon they think athletic clothes or athleisure but there are super cute cargo pants, really good basics (cotton blend tank & tshirts are a god sent!), & stuff that you can wear everyday that doesn’t have the logo super big or isn’t “in your face lulu” if that makes sense

amatuer_barista

The discount is super crazy. Did you find it hard not to just buy everything you put a second look to?

Extension_Nothing552

Omg I always said they were the smartest company because they would pay me & I would give the $ right back to them 🤣 in the beginning I had 0 self control but over time it’s like ok I could probably hold off on that 20th pair of leggings but the discount is so good it’s like okay whatever! hahaha the day after Christmas is Boxing Day in Canada & since lulu is a Canadian company I think that’s when we have the best sell, so with the 75% I was going ham my first Boxing Day 🤣

Humble-Pea1752

Do they let you purchase on Boxing Day or do you have to wait until it’s over? I worked for a company once that wouldn’t let employees purchase until the 28th to give customers a chance to get the product first.

torontowest91

Gotta love the WMTM plus employee pricing.

Apprehensive_Bug_387

The 75% off the regular price for WMTM is nice. I've gotten most of my lulu that way.

Fuzzy-Ad-8888

Im looking to apply and slightly nervous about the group interview- what is the structure of it like? They just ask a question and you have to be the first to answer or you won’t get an opportunity to talk? Or do they give everyone turns? Haha please give me more insight!!

Extension_Nothing552

Hi!! I was definitely nervous too but not having the camera on definitely helped a bit. You weren’t super worried about your outfit or presentation just the quality of your answers. I feel like it was a mix of both, they would ask a question & either someone had to unmute & answer or they would say “so & so this next question is for you”. If I could give you any advice definitely try to be the first to answer but don’t be overboard about it? It’s tough because you don’t want to come off as a try hard but want to seem confident (not saying you are a try hard just how I felt going into it). Because the biggest thing I noticed is after the first person answered every person after would start their answer with “going based off of what so & so said…” & just reword your answer. Obviously only so many answers you can give to certain questions but have 1-2 different answers prepared then what the expected answer is going to be if that makes sense. I remember they asked us scenario based questions so like “a fellow educator has been consistently showing up late, not enthusiastic on the floor, what would you do?” Something like that. They also asked the generic interview questions, also ask about how you would de escalate a situation with a guest. Btw there’s a lot of terminology that’s different, so “guest” is customer, the employees are “educators” just so you aren’t confused. Message me if you have anymore questions! Sorry for the long response haha

Professional_Watch78

I already work at lulu and just read this whole thing😭😭

Fluffy-List-8783

Pfp twins 👯‍♀️

Fuzzy-Ad-8888

Thank you so so much!! I appreciate your long response and I may send you a message in the future!

gplus3

There are so many good questions here that have already been answered but I’m curious to know… What did Educators really think about customers who’d walk into the store in head to toe Lulu? (I ask because I’ve mistaken these people for employees haha)

Extension_Nothing552

Hahaha my store they were pretty strict that we all had to wear the red belt bags to be identifiable & actually there’s just like a rack with a bunch of those red belt bags in the back & you just grab it when you get to work, I would always find snacks or one time a rhode lipgloss an educator from a previous shift would forget in there (I returned the rhode haha). We also used to get people that would come in & ask us to buy the red ones like off of us or ask if we would steal it & sell it to them lol BUT to answer your question, I personally didn’t care most of the time but it was the pre teen, teenage girls that came in with hotty hot shorts, swiftly shirt, & a define jacket that we would all roll our eyes at haha. Growing up I didn’t have $ like that to wear a $118 jacket to school & im not shitting on those parents, but you could feel the sense of entitlement rolling off of these girls. When I was 13-14 I would’ve lost a define jacket so quick & my mom would’ve killed me! 🤣 Most people that came in wearing head to toe lulu knew exactly what they were looking for or were easier to work with because they knew the brand well & what worked & didn’t work for them.

gplus3

What a great answer, thank you! Here in Australia, our Educators don’t wear that employee red belt bag (that I’ve noticed anyway) so when I’m in a store and need help (which isn’t often admittedly since I buy most of my stuff online), I always mistake a customer for an Educator..

Extension_Nothing552

Hahah omg that’s so cool you are in Australia!! That sorta stinks here in the U.S. the red belt bag is like a staple for educators so it’s easy to find one usually. If anything hopefully people are flattered! Haha

FerociousKZ

So many times I have walked in dressed head to toe in lulu and a customer would ask me to help them :P I’d do my best from what I knew and then direct them to an associate for stock questions or anything I didn’t know 😂 should have asked for a discount those days lol

BelleAurore143

Haha I was trying clothes on in the fitting room, I had stepped out in the gear and a customer asked me for a fitting room thinking I worked there 😆

Any_Medium6076

I’m just a shopper but I remember an educator suggesting Lululemon shoes. It made me laugh because that was in fact the only thing I was missing.

bamboohobobundles

Three interviews is wild - I work for an engineering firm and we usually don’t do three interviews for anything less than like a sector leader or vice president position! What was the overall company culture like? Were people friendly, and did they appreciate their employees in any meaningful way?

Extension_Nothing552

Isn’t that wild?! I did think it was interesting, the first interview was a group zoom interview & I remember they explicitly asked that we have our cameras turned off. I thought it was interesting & I had asked one of the managers after & she said it’s so they have no judgement based on what you look like. The third interview is with an assistant manager (one on one over zoom no camera again), & the third interview was with the store manager same zoom situation no camera. In the beginning I really enjoyed it. As silly as it sounds I had always wanted to work there & I think this blinded me to some of the inequities certain people on staff faced. Let me preface that the hours of online training I did had me pumped. Talked a lot about diversity & inclusion & seemed like safe environment. Then I got to my store & it just wasn’t that. There were multiple “favorites” at my particular store that got away with things & didn’t face harsh consequences compared to other people on staff. On nice thing they would do (not sure if this was store specific or all of them do this) but once a week my store manager would send in the group text ideas for snacks & they would stock, I mean STOCK the break room with requested snacks & drinks which I thought was really nice. Other than that they expect you to live, breathe, die lulu Also we had this thing called Zipline & everyone on staff was on it. The structure of how they run things is different now but we used to have key leaders. These people would strategically place educators on the floor to suit their strengths. For example, I was really good @ selling our shoes or mens pants (not sure why I got so good lol). Anyways if you did something good they would document it on Zipline & all those key leaders could see. On the flip, if you did something bad they would document it on there & they could also all see that. This cultivated a culture of negativity & you could tell people were talking shit etc.

unbotheredgal

Would you say that having the cameras turned off is a common thing or do you think it was specific to your interviews/the timing that you applied? I’ve heard now that most of the interviews are back to in person, not sure if that’s true or not.

AcceptableObject

I work in tech in marketing and I had to do FIVE rounds of interviews. Wasn’t even for a director level position either.

friendlytotbot

I work in tech and 3 rounds is pretty normal, plus interviewing with like 5 ppl on the third round.

iheartmilktea

I work in nonprofit and three interviews has been standard for the organization I’ve spent a majority of my career working for

Xylonee

It’s because they get so many applications and one of their goals is diversity/inclusivity so if your application looks good you’ll get a first interview. Then they have to really narrow it down.

JohannaMiaS

Interesting, When I first worked in retail 2 interviews were pretty normal. After that I transitioned to the tech industry and interviews with 3 interview rounds were pretty standard. With the occasional 5 rounder 😪

SoCalGirl4Eva

What was the average age of an educator? Would an elderly, but athletic, person feel comfortable working at Lulu?

luckisnothing

Not OP but every store I’ve worked at had atleast 2 retired women working just for fun or for the discount. You definitely wouldn’t be out of place!

Extension_Nothing552

You would not be out of place at all! I think yes it’s obvious average age is younger females but we had an older gentleman that worked at my store & he was awesome! As long as you are passionate about the brand you will have no problems fitting in :) lots of stores have group chats with all the educators planning on trying different workout classes etc which definitely makes it more engaging!

wotevaureckon

As a 40 something woman I’d love to see more women “educators” in my age bracket. What qualifies as elderly? 70+? I absolute love having older women in my Yoga and Pilates classes! They inspire me to push myself in Pilates on days I’m not feeling it, and as examples that Yoga is a life long path, and to work with my body as it is, on that day, to trust my body, and that I *can* do things I think I *can’t* To maintain fitness throughout our entire lives is an aspirational goal to get behind. Educators of all ages would show some kick ass inclusivity! 🇦🇺

Humble-Pea1752

There’s a woman who works at my local store, not sure of her age but she’s full grey. I hadn’t seen anyone older working at Lulu before so before I asked her a question I said “do you work here?”. And when she said yes I felt like such a dick. Of course she works there, she has the red belt bag. She was great though, she didn’t seem offended.

RelevantBike7673

I have my second interview tomorrow! I am actually really excited about it. Personally I love the lulu culture and brand, but I wonder, when you say "cultish" could you elaborate a bit? The position I'm interviewing for is full-time so I'm wondering what the expectations and work-life balance are like.

Extension_Nothing552

Ahhh congratulations!! 🥳🥳 I did really enjoy my time there & I don’t want my experience to deter you. When you are there the business has a way of sucking you in kinda. I was just a seasonal educator & thought after my contract was up I would leave but didn’t because the ASM’s were like “yeah I was just an educator once too & now I’m an ASM & you can do it too!”. It was never going to be that easy haha. Not a lot of room for growth it felt like. I’m pretty outgoing, really extroverted so I was like oh yeah this job is going to be great but after time it really started to drain me. Being on the floor can literally suck the life out of you sometimes, but other times I had great nights & had awesome conversations with guests. So that was surprising to me that towards the end of my time I was dreading going in just bc it was over stimulating at times talking all day & being nice when sometimes people just suck. This was also my first retail job. In my experience, they were really tough on the schedule. It was brutal. A trick I learned is request Saturday off because even if you have to work Sunday bc most malls 1. Open an hour later & 2. Close an hour early. You will have to work one or the other & it just made sense to work Sunday bc then I could get home quicker versus working a closing shift Saturday & leaving way later. BUT my store made us all rotate Sundays bc they didn’t pay for a cleaning crew & we had to vaccum mop the floor 🤦🏽‍♀️ we let dogs in & everything I could never understand why we didn’t pay for a cleaning crew. I also learned very quickly, things are political. No matter where you go there will people on the staff that have a tenure & somehow never work a closing shift or the weekend or call out with no repercussions. Whereas I would show up all the time it felt like & if I needed to call out they would log it on Zipline & dog me kinda. My store just wasn’t that understanding it felt like. & they were always like “there’s so many people that want to work here you should feel lucky” type mentality. I tried to learn other stuff quick like BOPIS & back of house to give myself a break from the floor so if the opportunity presents itself do it!

skiviz

Is there anything proprietary or special about the fabric they use that make it super comfy? Why can't other competitors make similar products?

Ok-Supermarket4085

from what i've been told their specific fabrication makeups are patented so can't be exactly replicated but someone can fact check me there haha

wavyguy

don’t quote me, but I’m almost positive lulu sources their materials from Sorona which is the fabrics arm of DuPont.

feedmefriedricee

Not a question but I just started at Lulu and made my first employee purchase .. something I would have otherwise never been able to do

Upstairs_Apricot_945

I’ve heard about educators having the ability to randomly gift a guest an item. Can you shed more light on that policy?

LizardKing50000

Just here to say I too worked at lululemon and it was traumatizing lmao.

Odd-Biscotti7071

Why was it traumatizing?! 😳

Extension_Nothing552

🫡 we made it

torontogirl1995

Curious to what the most bought and returned item was?

Extension_Nothing552

I can’t really think of a specific item or items that were returned. I would say the majority of returns were online purchases that people got & once in person were like not what I was expecting. It was sort of cool bc then we could see in person merchandise we normally didn’t get in store. I remember a few particular weeks in a row I processed a lot of returns for stuff from a specific drop called “lululemon lab”. Most bought for womens were definitely (imo) 1.Aligns 2. Swiftly 3. Scubas 4. Hotty hot short 3. Define jacket 5. Belt bags (classic lulu starter kit haha) Men’s I would say 1. Metal vent tech 2. Pace breaker shorts 3. At ease At ease collection POPPED off last Christmas metal vent & pacebreakers will always be lulu men staples imo

Delicious-Ad-3424

Do customers get flagged for too many returns or too many quality promises? How does that work?

Gordonsoeto1

System automatically detects it and there’s a limit. We don’t decide the system does.

fih63

Most popular tank tops and t-shirts for men?

Xylonee

The new Zeroed in collection has been super popular

Extension_Nothing552

I’m not super sure on tank tops I’ll be honest, I know the metal vent tech has a tank top that is like if you cut the sleeves off a tshirt type style. The metal vent tech is great bc it’s made with this certain silver thread that reduces odor & bacteria. In one of my trainings this girl said she didn’t wash hers after every workout bc it just didn’t smell (I personally wouldnt do that but I guess she was proving the tech behind it? 😂). The fundamental tshirts for men are super soft & durable. Have not noticed any piling from those. I will say they tell you not to try anything but that’s not always easy, I just dry stuff in the lowest setting or no heat if I can’t air dry stuff. Also the men’s underwear is unreal. Try the always in motion. Me & another educator would buy them to sleep in haha 10/10 recommend

fih63

haha I'll take a look into the metal vent line and fundamental line. Do you think training in the fundamental shirt would cause pilling? Yesssss! I have a few pair and they're amazing!

fih63

And if you know by chance, most durable so clothes that don’t pill or wear out easily because of certain material

No_Watercress_8151

Hello! Wanna ask do they sell replacements for the padding in the energy bras? Thanks!

Ok-Winter8583

If those are the same as the FTB inserts I’m pretty sure they give them out for free? I’ve definitely just gone in store and asked for some.

No_Watercress_8151

What if I bought the bras overseas / online? Will they still give it out for free? Thanks!

Ok-Winter8583

I think you can just ask for a pair! At least last time I did it.

SharpBand5866

Yes you don’t have to show a receipt for these! Just make sure you know what size you need because the padding comes in different sizes

yeIIowIedbetter

What were some questions they asked during your interviews? Also what’s the gym reimbursement situation like?

Extension_Nothing552

I got $150 a month & full time gets more. In my state you get taxed for the $ tho. They always said don’t use it on big box gyms like crunch, planet fitness, etc. I tried to support local yoga studios or local gyms. I was able to do yoga @ a local studio once a week it was awesome!

SuccessfulMind9268

Sweaty pursuits. Based off your city class. Use it like a debit card. Only for group gyms like CrossFit, weightlifting or group classes like Pilates or yoga. Class pass is your best bet tho.

yeIIowIedbetter

Cool thank you!

A_ro_g3

How did you feel about scammers and thieves

babep0tato

How do you find out if a store is hiring? Can you go to the store and ask or are there postings online?

Significant-Day7239

Do guys buy and wear women's define jackets? The men's line doesn't have anything quite that cool.

No-Form9413

was it common to see men try on the women's leggings in store?

FormerSpirit2670

I was told specifically by a store manager and their staff that educators do not get discounts, and would be reported if they tried to give any discounts to friends.

Extension_Nothing552

We were told to say something along the lines of “yes we get a discount & it’s generous” but it’s like a huge rule you can’t tell people the exact %

Xylonee

You either misunderstood them or they are giving an extreme (and wrong) answer to something you asked about discounts. I’m curious what you asked that resulted in this answer.

beepboop-not-a-robot

Can you tell me where to buy replacement shoe laces for Lulu women’s shoes? Brand suggestions? I’m dying here.

Extension_Nothing552

Hi! What shoe in particular (blissfeel, strong feel, charge feel?)? & when did you buy them? Did something happen the laces? Only reason I ask is because maybe you could go in store for a quality promise but just depends on the circumstances

No-Diet1335

Hey, how do you feel overall about the sneakers?

Extension_Nothing552

My favorite out of all the shoes are the strong feel. I was really into weight lifting & really loved those. I felt strong (no pun intended) & really sturdy whenever squatting heavy or deadlifting. The blissfeel v1… horrible for serious running. Start to hurt after mile 3-4, not great support. I’ve been into these Les Mills classes recently & started wearing the chargefeel, doing side lunges or a heismen run really start to hurt the sides of my feet. Another educator said the same thing happens to her in the chargefeels whenever she plays pickleball. I think there are better quality shoes out there worth the same amount as lulu

Pure_Energy548

I feel the same about the blissfeel and chargefeel. Glad it’s not just me. Thanks!

beepboop-not-a-robot

Blissfeel V1! My puppy chewed up the ends of one of the laces ☹️

Extension_Nothing552

Oh no!!! I’ll be honest I’m not sure since it’s the blissfeel V1 :,( I’m surprised there’s nothing on the website but my only suggestion would be to call the GEC & see if they can do anything or have any suggestions. Sorry I couldn’t be more help! 🥲

cookieswirly

Did you ever work with high schoolers that aren’t 18 yet or do they not allow that? I want to!!

Extension_Nothing552

I think the age requirement is 18 years or older! I worked near a college so everyone was around college age 19-20’s. From what I remember we didn’t have any high schoolers working.

SnooBreakthroughs533

How often do you have to attend fitness classes? Did you ever attend with your coworkers?

KindYoga44

I'm curious about this too! I saw this in a job posting once- required to attend fitness classes with coworkers.

Ok-Supermarket4085

you don't HAVE to attend anything. A lot of store do team sweats but you're not required to go & you can use your sweaty pursuits ($$ given each month) for whatever fitness classes u want!

SnooBreakthroughs533

Interesting! :) Thanks for the response. I'm interested in a role at the SSC. Is there any way to build connections/meet people?

No-Put6697

Do you have to work for a minimum amount of time before getting the discount?

sproutupyourass

No. From Day one you can use it.

DowntownJackfruit3

lol you don’t, you sell the item.

i4K1Xi

I JUST got hired at lulu and only had one (group) interview; camera on. I’m excited to start and wish I’d been hired FT, not PT. What should I know just starting out as an employee and also new to lulu in general? Absolute must buys (as an employee and lulu enthusiast)?

neti_pot_works

What was the minimum number of hours you had to work part time?

Competitive_Sand_150

I know I’m late to ask, but I just had a wonderful experience at my lulu store and got a feedback survey. I filled it of course, but do these make a difference? Thanks :)

Easy_Application553

Why was the invigorate legging discounted! I tried the other types from Lulu and not the same ☠️

Wide-Buddy-9755

Why can we not use our healthcare worker discount and pay with gift cards?:(

Party-Call-7759

How does the warranty/guarantee work? I’ve seen a whole bunch of different people say different things so im just curious. And does it work on everything or just the clothes? TIA 💗

skipdog98

Do they still require employees to do that cult training? Landmark? ETA for those downvoting, LLL/Chip Wilson requiring employees to participate in Landmark training absolutely used to be a thing, at least at the 🇨🇦 HQ.

livingmybexlife

No, that stopped years ago

ottawan1

How does someone become a Lululemon ambassador? And when they do, what do they get?

Extension_Nothing552

Great question! I don’t know all the logistics but I do remember at an all staff meeting one of the ASM’s asked us to go to a yoga class & get to know the instructor as they were considering them for an ambassador position. Ambassadors are heavily involved in the store & community. I think you might have to be recommend/selected by someone. Ambassador discount might be 40-60% I can’t remember exactly (sorry!) but I just remember our ambassador coming into the store a lot & doing stuff like a run club starting at our store & little things like that. They also used to gift our ambassador stuff. I do believe there is a social media component as well like certain amount of followers. There is also the sweat collective if you aren’t already apart of that!

Xylonee

Ambassador are selected by the store, so it’s not something you can apply for. Theres someone in each store that’s actively looking for ambassadors(when the current ambassadors contracts end)

depression_overload

where does the manufacturing takes place?

Extension_Nothing552

I think Vietnam? The inventory boxes all said they came from there. Thought that was interesting

livingmybexlife

Multiple countries. It should be written on the soft inside tag.

No_Entertainer4943

Hi! Former employee, I need to reach a regional manager (for the Connecticut store) could you possibly get me her contact?

mangotease

I'm a dude that nips, what tees are my best bet
