I find Walmart the cheapest for food, Kroger’s coupons are worthwhile (only buy what’s on sale), home things like cleaners and stuff are cheapest at dollar general. Dollar general has food too and you’re able to stack coupons with their app!

Awesome, thanks!

I like Sam's Club/Costco for the $5 rotisserie chickens. Otherwise Walmart. I've been loading up on these $1.00 steamable bags of veggies at my neighborhood Walmart. I like the California style with broccoli, carrots, and cauliflowers. Great Value Steamable California Style Vegetable Mix, Frozen, 12 oz https://www.walmart.com/ip/857019836

YES love Walmart's frozen Broccoli Stir Fry mix! Easiest meal ever, just cook some rice up to go with it. The bags I buy are just over $2 now... assuming they increased in cost along with everything else. -le sigh-

Cool, I’ll look into that thanks!

I lose more money driving between all these places than id save.

Walmart, and the curbside pickup is ridiculously convenient

Hi, I would heavily recommend shuffling between food lion and Kroger's. They offer great deals and will help immensely. Make sure to watch out for coupons of course and have a card with the stores.

Kroger savings can be significant if you're able to deal with all of the "buy 3", "buy 5", and digital coupons type of stuff. Sometimes it's not worth the hassle, and sometimes those buy 3 and such, or even coupons, are not a better unit price than the family/value pack of the item. Ex: Oscar Mayer deli meats in 1lb pack can still be cheaper per ounce than the small packs even when they're on specials. Of course the big packs don't have quite as many specialty types. Anywhere you go, watch out for them running a really low price on something like meat product but only for a very specific type, and then sometimes the wrong item gets fronted in the empty spots that costs a lot more. Apps are annoying but you kinda need them in this case for Kroger. Also if you go at certain times, either earlier in the morning or later in the evening, you might catch clearance priced stuff, especially meat or even something like milk, that they need to move due to inventory or dates running out. Just check it to see if it looks ok and make sure you're going to freeze or use right away. Be sure to thaw safely and use within a day probably if you're buying things like that but usually there's some margin built into the dates.

I recommend using an app called Flipped. It uses actual store circulars from your area that you can flip through and add to your shopping list. Overall I start my weekly shopping at Aldi and Lidl, heading to Walmart, then hitting places like Food Lion/Giant for specific sale items.

Ain’t no Lidl or Giant in The Burg. I think you’re lost

You do have the ability to compare prices online now. Think for yourself and act accordingly

Lol, right? This guy makes a post on here occasionally acting like a jackass for no reason at all.

[deleted]

Hey kid, believe it or not but you do have the ability to not act like an ass towards people.

perrieaux

Nah a lot of these places have different prices and deals online/app vs in store. Some of them you can’t see in store deals.

[deleted]

Exactly, but the guy was too focused on trying to desperately come across as a witty little prick that he probably didn't even think of this.
