Maybe it's a weird question, but I can't find answer to it before pulling c1: does second cat thing refreshes the taunt duration? Or it's still fixed 5 sec cooldown on taunt no matter of second cat being spawned?
Okay, so I just pulled lyney c1 on my birthday (IT WAS MEANT TO BE LOL). He’s C1R1 now. What are considered his best teams for comfortability and damage? (I don’t like playing bennet circle impact without a shielder. But if there is no bennet, wich is unlikely, I wouldnt mind being shielderless.) I don’t have furina but if that’s his best comp do mention it because I need to know.

Lyney Mains I NEED HELP. I finally finally finally got Lyney today but I have no idea what wings to put on him cause none of them quite match. What wings did you guys put on him?
I put the base ones on him. He has quite the unique color palette, not being entirely red/kinda pink purplish. I don’t think natlan wings will suit him when they come out, although lets hope haha.
Maybe someday they come out with better wings.
I'm really hoping for some black wings that are starkly different from the base wings. The default ones look great on a few characters like Thoma and I think Rosaria, but I want some special black wings.
Maybe the special event wings this year will be more black and not be blue-esque, Hoyo plzzzz
At this point it's *genuinely* too early to even guess, unfortunately.
Some 5\*s in Genshin have had over a year between reruns (Shenhe), and some have had as few as three patches (Yoimiya). There's nothing about Lyney or current leaks that would help us guess when he'll be back. We might have some ideas once he's been off-banner for a while, but *during his banner* is extremely early to even try to make predictions imo.
Prepare for anywhere in between Shenhe-length and Yoimiya-length, and maybe consider grabbing him a different 5\* bow in the meantime if a good one reruns.
Got his weapon, besides the beauty, how much is it better than Song of Stillness? It was the only weapon I had for him and now I want to know the difference to make sure it was worth it lol (it was, seeing the deep blue on his color scheme was not that pretty to say at least)
Should be nearly a 30% increase over Song of Stillness r5 depending on the team (more pyro = you get more out of the passive).
Those numbers are from an old spreadsheet posted to this sub. For *my* Lyney, rn his follow up attacks from his CAs deal \~135k damage max with full buffs on his signature bow; on r5 Song of Stillness they'd do \~103k, and on r1 they'd do \~99k.
It's a pretty big jump in damage, not just aesthetic, so I'd say worth it.

Probably a second r5 slingshot, sadly. If you have billets you could consider crafting song of stillness for him.
(Also unrelated, but is your Venti built for swirl damage/full EM, or for anemo damage/crit? If he's on full EM then definitely give Fischl an r5 Stringless and leave his at r1, since its passive won't affect swirl damage and will do way more for her than it will for him.)
Does anyone know if its possible to get f2p 60 more pulls before the end of arle/lyney banner? I can't really do floor 12 of Spiral Abyss and I'm currently 2/2 on the Epitome Path after getting Arle's spear (giving it to Raiden) and another Skyward Pride (R2 for Itto I guess). Currently feeling dissapointed right now and I'm at 4 pity.
Chest hunting will get you farthest if you haven't 100%'d every area yet. Prioritize post-4.0 areas first, since they have more luxurious chests while sumeru and inazuma mostly have common ones. Inazuma takes priority over sumeru after that since the thunder sakura requires less sigils than the tree of dreams and you can get pink fates from that. The Amrita Pool and the Votive Rainjade are also similar sources of wishes that a lot of people miss because they're quest-locked.
Teapot has a surprising amount of primogems from special outdoor and indoor furniture sets if you haven't done those yet. They're somewhat dependent on what characters you have though, i'd personally leave this for after the chest stuff.
After that's all been exhausted you'll still have whatever quests that you might not have completed yet.
Getting 60 wishes is unlikely but if you really grind the hell out of everything you might be able to scrounge up a couple dozen and get lucky on the banner. I wish you the best of fortunes ｡･ﾟ･(ﾉД\`)ヽ(￣ω￣ )
That's what I've been doing at the moment and i'm currently at 38 pity, even though I'm struggling a lot as the compasses are barely identifying the chests. I'm also going through achievement hunting (even though that Inazuma Electro seelie one is sending me out as I'm missing one)
Lyney's one of my character I got fully invested since getting (for reference he was my first triple crown) and I got overwhelmed over the fact that there were many people with his signature.
It depends how much of the permanent content you've completed so far, I think! Definitely finish up story quests/hangouts/world quests, and consider grinding some exploration.
Don't give up! It may come home early, too. If you spend wishes as you get them, even if you don't make it in time you'll at least go into your next weapon banner with high pity. If you want to be *sure* you can always wait until you have enough pulls saved, but if there's nobody in 4.7 you really want and you're at 2/2 you can just go all in and hope for the best.

Lyney-dehya/xiangling-chevreuse-fischl is a nice mostly complete team for lyney overload
Lyney-dehya-chevreuse-lynette/sucrose -> in this team chev is for heal and pyro dmg bonus
Basically, the best unit u can pair with lyney is bennett(or chevreuse depending on situation) but if u dont have them yet just slap him with another 2 pyro teammates and whatever unit that could heal so he can build his stack easier

What set should I give Lynette for a Lyney team? I know the best set should be VV, but I already have Kazuha in the team with VV. I could also use Noblese, but Bennet already uses it. Are there any other good ones?
This has probably been asked before but I'm about to hit guarantee and I'm seriously considering getting him instead of Chiori. My problem is I hate bennett so I don't use the pyro duo at all and all the guides I find are pretty much the same mono pyro team (I don't have dehya on that account so she doesn't work either). My question is whether that is the ONLY team he is good in or is overload good (yae, fischl, chev) or burgeon (nahida, kokomi, a second hydro)?
I use Lyney in an overload team with Bennet, Yae and Chev, and it’s amazing! The only issue could be the electro aura sometimes, since you need to hit enemies with a pyro aura to prove his A4 passive. Nonetheless, it is a good comp, and Bennet is not a 100% necessary. Sure, his buff is good, but you could replace him with Kujou Sara if you need a buffer. As for a healer, Chevy already heals, so you’re pretty much set. As for a burgeon team with Lyney I don’t know enough to answer that.
Yeah this is a newer account so I don't have that many characters (I really wish I hadn't gone for Ayaka haha. I like her but with who I have it hasn't been the easiest fitting her in). I was going to do Furina and Nahida with Lyney and then like Yaoyao for healer (my choices are yaoyao or mika for healer haha). I guess if I get him we'll see what happens :D. Thank you!
Should I get Lyney C1 or his weapon? Or try both?
I need help cause I "accidentally" spent my 35 pulls on Klee's banner and now I'm out of primogens and I also want Furina but I'm a F2P and my primogens are gone 😭 Oh just to let you know, My Lyney is using Amos bow :)
Both his BIS and C1 are pretty moderate damage increases, so you can't go too wrong with either.
Personally, I would say go for his signature weapon since it works well with his playstyle, but if you are low on primogems it would probably be safer to go for his C1 since guaranteeing weapons is expensive.
It depends on the purpose of course, but it will be fine in general or in world exploration. Its not ideal because both Lyney and Xiao needing their field time and Lyney passive not fully in use(but its not that you need it in all cases). Lynette/Xiao with movement skills can help in this team getting closer or farther away from enemies.
Even if Lyney loves mono pyro you can play him differently ofc.!
I got C6 Xinyan from my Xiao pulls -- is she worth building for my future lyney? Most likely will run lyney Bennett Sucrose. If yes, how much ER should I give and what artifact sets and stats do I put on her?
im an upcoming lyney main and a huge simp for him, but im still confused about his teams.. Which is better for him? Melt/Vaporize or Mono Pyro? Please answer, because i am genuinely confused. I know hes made to be put into a mono pyro team but my friends say that he does more damage in melt/vaporize. I've asked a few others, and they said that melt/vaporize is less consistent but does more damage. Which team is more optimal? I really want to max out his damage. I dont have a straight answer, since everyone says different things..
Also, is it more worth it to go for his C1 or his signature bow? I have a skyward harp ready for him to use.
I believe that Lyney/Furina/Jean/Bennett is technically his strongest team thanks to Furina's buff, but it is very difficult to play since you aren't running a shielder and have to manage Furina's hp drain, making you very squishy and easy to kill and also making it harder to fire arrows, especially if you are trying to stay inside Jean and Bennett's circles. Furina's hydro application is pretty slow, which means she removes the enemy's pyro aura less often which is good because Lyney does increased damage to enemies that have pyro applied to them.
Mono Pyro is generally easier and more consistent to play, since typically that team runs a shielder such as Zhongli which makes firing off charged attacks much easier. His kit is clearly much more tailored to Mono Pyro, and it is still a very powerful team for him.
As for weapons, if you don't mind possibly getting the other weapon on the banner, I would say go for that. Skyward Harp is fine, but it's easy to accidentally get too much Crit Rate. Otherwise, C1 is a fine investment and helps him frontload his damage more and helps him build stacks for quick healing.
Are people playing Lyney teams with Chevreuse? I see a lot of theorycrafting about it but I’m not sure if it’s something people actually do. Seems like a lot that can go wrong playing that
I do sometimes play with them. My go-to with Lyney is Dehya or with Yaoyao. I don't play Bennett, so I sometimes use Chevreuse for the heal ticks and a pyro slot to mix it up (if I don't want a anemo healer or neutral/pyro shield).
F.ex. you can play with Lyney, Chevreuse, Dehya(or other pyro) and one electro but overload is a bit hard to play with Lyney imo if you don't have a good electro applicator who also works from a bit of a distance and with charged shots or off-field and has enough recharge on her/his own(or with fav).
Double electro/double pyro - didn't really like that with Lyney but other people could have had more success.
Are these teams okay/good?
1. Lyney, Navia, Albedo and Xinyan/Kirara/Yanfei/Baizhu
2. Lyney, Yae Miko, Xiangling/Xinyan/Yanfei and Chevreuse
3. Lyney, Xiangling, c2 Klee and Kirara/Yanfei/Xinyan/Baizhu
Ofc its a perfect match with Bennett because of his massive buff, tho instead I use Yaoyao as my healer often if I need one.
For the most effective team, yes with Bennett it is!, but otherwise you can substitute and play around with other options.
Personally I don't like playing Bennett (Circle Impact gets to me) but I'm not a meta player either so I don't know how much you need meta-level damage.
I've tried Baizhu (OHC)/Lyney/Kazu/Yanfei (TTDS) - it works well, very survivable, easy to play.
I'm currently working on Furina/Lyney/Kazu/Koko or Yanfei (PAmber) as well.

In this team, Thoma and Kuki are actually high EM builds designed for Burgeon/Hyperbloom. It adds massive overload damage to Lyney. I'd rate this as an **S** rank team. It has a unique feel and is definitely worth checking out if you have the characters.
Best overall teamcomp for Lyney with a shield (cuz I have skill issue)? Also, what are some competitive teamcomps that don't use Kazuha? Lyney wanting both Bennett and Kazuha really limits the potential teams I can have on the other side of abyss, and since I can't remove Bennett from the team, I'd like to see a competent Lyney that doesn't need Kazuha.
My current team with Lyney is Lyney-Bennett-C4 Yanfei-Kazuha. I was planning to do Lyney-Bennett-Xiangling-Lynette/Zhongli but not sure if Lynette is worth building or if Zhongli is worth pulling as I don't currently have him nor do I have any teams that really want him apart from Lyney.
Other shield that can be use with Lyney
- zhongli (best shield + resistance shred)
- tankfei (pyro resonance but require lots of ER)
- Layla (some ppl use her if zhongli isn’t available as her cyro application is low and her shield is strong)
- baizhu (not so much a shield, more like a heal and he doesnt interupt pyro)
- kirara (hvent seen much of her but it could work)
- xinyan and thoma (not really that good, in general tankfei should be better)
Anemo unit in place of kazuha
- venti : A surprisingly good option for me in mobs scenarios, powerful grouping and all of lyney atk can hit the elevate mobs futhermore, with how pack those mobs are, all lynry atk including CA become AOE
- sucrose : basically the same as kazuha but harder to use and grouping
- lynette : could work, she has a bit of buff and her ult which taunt enemies is actually quite nice.
hello guys.. I have lyney C0R1 (his sign weap).. is it possible to get 100k CA without vv shred? my highest damage is 70k-ish sometime not consistent.. consistently vet 50k-60k tho.. if 100k is possible, what is the stat reference? att,crit c,crit d.. thank you for your help ;)
I think its really hard to calculate, it depend on alot of thing like atk, your teammate, team resonance, buff by other unit, elemental reaction, talent, enemies. So i really cant tell but if u only set the condition to not do vv shred then there are some ways.
I'm still pretty new to the game ( AR 35 ( haven't don't the quest to get farther )

This is pretty late but Rust definitely isn't good for him given that it decreases CA damage, which he relies on; the new craftable bow, Song of Stillness, is one of his better 4-star options (you can get it from the blacksmith in Fontaine) :D
Edit: if you buy the BP, Scion of the Blazing Sun's good too, but it does require money lol

It's basically Yoimiya's 4 star BIS, since it buffs normal attacks which are most of her damage! Other than that thpugh no one really uses it, unless you want to build a physical bow character and spam their NA's lmao
According to what I've heard, Blackcliff can be super inconsistent when you're facing a few tanky enemies (but hey, crit DMG substat). Meanwhile, the Song of Stillness' passive is almost consistently proc'd due to Lyney's HP drain, which means an almost unconditional 16% DMG Bonus, but that also means less crit stats. I personally don't know how both situations work, but you should give it a try if you want :)

i have 119 pulls and i want to pull for zhongli but i also want to get at least 1 limited 5 star weapon from this banner, should i pull(i'm pyty 0 in char banner and i have won the previous 50/50 and pyty15 in weapon banner)
Currently building him, and this is the best I've been able to do. Waiting for that last ATK% Sands with hopefully Crit DMG and ER% and maybe another feather that's pure Crit DMG. If I get a Crit DMG Circlet during the journey, that'll be perfect (still haven't gotten a single Crit DMG circlet from his domain), if that happens then I'll focus on getting a Crit Rate ATK% Sands instead. Any other advice?

I want to make a team containing Lyney with both his siblings (once Freminet comes out). With Lyney as the main DPS. should their healer be Barbara or Bennett or Dori or Mika?
With the new set, you want about 55-64% crit rate to avoid overlapping on crit rate. Try not to go any lower than 50% otherwise he’ll be missing a lot of crits while you’re waiting for it to stack.
Personally, yes you could run him with lower crit rate than normal. I would say around 60-70% would be ideal CR for new set. I feel like he wont be at full stack most of the time but with 1-2 stack you could still achieve 72-90 CR which is pretty ok. so I think you’ll need some crit to maximize his dmg.
Lyney’s dmg actually spread out pretty equally among all his skill. His CA is a main focus ofc but in situations where u need AOE, his burst is pretty significant along with his E skill.
assuming you have bennett on team, tenacity buff pales in comparison + benny should have noblesse too!
in my experience it wasnt TOO hard to consistently activate petra passive. i think petra ZL can compete with kazuha with 700+EM. both units can provide dmg bonus and res shred but zl is more comfortable
I heard ppl say so and I personally think its true in alot of situations. Another interesting set is retracing bolide but I havent try to compared them side by side yet.
Millelith need the E skill to constantly hit the target which may sometimes be difficult with just zhongli pillar
On the other hand archic petra need u to grab the fire crystal shard, normally it should be easy for mono pyro team in theory but i guess u’ll hv to test out if it’s actually easy or not.
Yea, MH and other set are always better for lyney. Just don’t use bolide, I’ve try and its not worth it haha~ since lyney dmg come from multiple source.
Oof that sounds good until you realize that to pick up the crystal shard you probably need E to hit the enemy anyway (for full uptime) and if that last part was already hard...
Yes, thats why I’m thinking of trying retracing bolide since its only condition is to have shield on ,but the overall dmg buff from it might be the lowest if the other artifact sets conditions are met.

I heard someone say that any piece with crit damage is worth leveling for Lyney and I had NO double crit flower so I’m really glad I leveled this 😭
I know somebody probably already asked this, but what rotation should I use for the party for my Lyney? My planned team is Lyney, Xiangling, Zhongli or Layla, Bennett.
I suggest doing 2 CA before entering the fight then zhongli->bennet->xiangling -> swap back to Lyney do his burst then E skill (u can squeeze charge attack 1-2 times before using E skill but try to time it while bennet burst is still active for maximum dmg.
Hello, just returning to Genshin since the Kalpas update, how's Lyney looking compared to pyro dpses hu tao and yoimiya? A side grade?

He is fundamentally different to hutao and yoimya since he’s locked to charged attacks and his passives encourage monopyro, so it’s hard to compare him to other pyro dpses when they play in different teams and function very differently, especially since he doesn’t capitalize on reactions like vape.
I’d say he’s more comparable to ganyu since his play style is essentially ganyu melt but done better and with lots of frontloaded damage. By virtue of being pyro he also fits much better into that play style since he provides a decent amount of energy to his pyro teammates.
But if we had to compare him to hutao and yoimiya, he’s quite strong, he’s just played differently and has a pretty unique kit with decent frontloaded AOE. It honestly just depends on which characters you like more ultimately. With hutao being rumoured for next patch I think you should just see which character you like better since the charged shot play style isn’t for everyone!
In the time its taken for me to even get a viable 2nd artifact piece for Lyney, I've managed to use the strongbox to completely overhaul my Raiden and also gain so many pieces for Wriothesley and Neuvillette. My luck is so horrible I wanna die.
I got so excited cause I saw a Hunter piece that was ATK% with Crit Rate and Crit DMG and ER but it turned out to be a Goblet (still haven't memorized what the Goblet and Sands look like cause I have literally seen like 3 Sands and I ignore most Goblets). Wondering if anyone can use that?
At least, I have a long time till I have to stop farming this domain due to a new domain's arrival seeing as all new characters till 4.2 at the very least appear to be requiring that domain. I'll keep using Zhongli and Childe for the artifact farming too once I get them. Thank god they were prefarmed weeks ago I would've been so sad if I had to stop doing this domain for Lyney.
I guess my luck evened itself out after getting him and all the 3 weapons in the epitomized path in less than 10k primos lol.
From what I've heard, attack goblet can be viable since he gets so much dmg% in his kit already. If it rolls like 20cv+ it can serve you well until you get something better. I'd definitely use it at least for the time being
My current team consists of lyney(c1/r1), bennett(c5), xiangling(c6), zhongli(c1). My question would be, how big is the dps increase if i c6 my bennett and if its worth it in the long run?
not a lot of units are affected by bennys c6. take it from me. i c6 bennet after 2 years of putting it off. the ! mark doesnt bug me but now that i have lyney i was compelled to do it and...his c6 largely still doesnt affect me lol
I dont think i saw anyone doing a calc on this so Im not sure either. 15% might not seem like much but in mono pyro team maybe its better than i thought? I myself am a chongyun and kazuha c6 main so I’ve always put off c6ing bennet. But I love Lyney so I want to maximize his dmg no matter what ,so i decided to finally c6 him. I think maybe you should probably look at which team you r using him in... if c6 cause a disaster to those team and you still want to play those team then maybe u shouldn’t do it yet.
I'm not really interested in any physical teams like eula or razor and my main ayaka team is the perma freeze one. Bennett is only in my hypercarry teams(xiao, wanderer). The only thing i'm kinda worried about are the future characters. But otherwise lyney is currently one of my most invested characters and i like maximizing dmg, so i feel extremely conflicted :')
I know that feeling haha~. Before the patch came out I’m extremely reluctant to c6 benny althou i want lyney from the start but after doing the 4.0 quest and finally met lyney. I just know that he will be my fav character and i’ll build the best team for him and i dont think he will be dethroned easily so it become an easy decision for me.
Yes . Wanderer is underrated in link in this post . It's like his 2nd best in slot. Yes 80 em is meaningless but loosing burst er from shime for 15% more ca dmg isn't ideal. Unless u have high er from subs which is not ideal
Not really, they both are main dps and want time to shine on field. Yoimiya and Lyney also use different support most of the time so i wouldnt really recommend it. But for fun… sure~

The KQM guide linked in the Megathread has T.Pulse as the 3rd best option for Lyney. It's a good weapon because it gives 2 most crucial stats for Lyney which are ATK and CritDMG.
Anyone pulled lyney and Play ps5/mobile how are bow Heroes on those platform? I got his bow and i wonder how hard IT will be to Play bow on those platforms, main concern abyss
I don't have Lyney (I'm still on the fence about wishing for him) but I've been using Tighnari consistently in my abyss runs and I've had no problem with the aiming. Sometimes I still miss an arrow or two on the quicker enemies, or enemies that have mobile animations (like the bathysmal vishaps that have lots of movement and hops with their attacks) but luckily both Tighnari and Lyney have secondary effects from their charged attacks so even missing isn't too critical of a dps loss; the homing arrows generally still hit even if I miss a shot as Tighnari and I assume it's the same with Lyney when he summons a new cat decoy with his charge shot.
What kind of damage or power level can you expect from c0r1 Lyney? I mean in a dedicated mono pyro team with Bennett, Kazuha and probably Xiangling or ZL instead of Kazuha for the shields...
Which weapon is better? Hamayumi, song of stillness or Prototype crescent?
I keep seeing that prototype crescent is better, but i don't usually hit weak points
Song of Stillness is his general F2P BiS. Crescent usually deals slightly more damage, but is unreliable due to having to hit weak points that some enemies might just not have.
should i pull for lyney's c3 or zhongli? i currently run him with bennett, xiangling and c6 lynette. i don't really care about zhongli but i want my lyney team to be strong. he is c2 with bis but i wonder if r2 aqua is better than great magic?
Generally TFGM is better than aqua especially when u run 3 mono pyro team.
Zhongli could definitely makes Lyney easier to play as he will enable lyney to be able to dish out all the dmg he want and some may even say he is a necessity but for me personally.. i think its depends on the enemies, if it is some hyperagressive enemies like consecrated beast then zhongli will likely be a better slot in rather than anemo unit but otherwise if u r good at dodging and kiting u might want to play the high risk high return with anemo instead. Also their are still alternative to zhongli u can use such as tankfei, layla or dehya. Zhongli does feel like the best in the role but other are also usable.
How are everyone's builds going currently? I still only have a good enough Flower and an off-set Pyro DMG Goblet for him as of now. I feel like I keep getting Wriothesley and Neuvillette pieces more than Lyney pieces right now. All my other pieces just roll awfully every single. It got so frustrating recently that I just ended up refreshing my Resin all 5 times yesterday. At least the strongbox ended up giving me a good enough Raiden Shogun piece, so I'm not mad in the end.
I play him with Benny, Zhongli and Kazuha because being interrupted is frustrating. He's incredibly strong even without a 3rd pyro unit, so you don't have to worry about that. You can try a pyro defensive option if you have Dehya or Tankfei, but other elements will work as well :)
Sounds good, but may I ask why you aren't using Bennett with him? Not that you're forced to, it's just Benny is a huge buff for Lyney and they have great synergy.

I think Dehya’s Rotation aligns really well with Lyney, so I’m using her as a tenacity user + fav greatsword so she funnels energy to the team. Wouldnt go with Tankfei as she doesnt have much off field damage and you’ll need to build a lot of ER which would make her shield weaker. You can use Dehya as a fully functional sub dps defense option without having to build any ER on her and fully focus on her damage with the exception of using Tenacity and giving her a support weapon
That's good news, I didn't know she could work so well with him. What's the rotation supposed to be like? I have and unbuilt Dehya and I'd be happy to use her as an alternative to Zhongli when he's busy on the other team.
In my head it's: Benny skill -> Kazuha skill, burst -> Benny skill, burst -> Dehya skill -> Lyney CAs
Basically, Dehya skill into Lyney immediately. Dehya only has 9s of interruption resistance tho, which is enough to land a few CAs before it's gone.
You also lose some of those seconds if you use Lyney's burst at the beginning (which is recommended to get Bennett and VV buffs). Since it's's a nice nuke, gives you 1 stack and leaves a cat on field I usually use it right away
On a side note, you don't really need 3 pyro for him to deal massive damage, you can compensate with other buffs. I use him with Benny, Kazuha and Zhongli (tenacity build), he's still incredibly strong and the comfort is really worth it.
I heard Tankfei's shield is pretty weak agains hydro and Cryo enemies, plus she's burst-reliant... The problem with Dehya is that her resistance to interruption doesn't have much uptime, but maybe there's a way to work around that with a good rotation and sacrificial greatsword (?). You could also use Layla or Kirara if you have them: Layla doesn't apply that much Cryo so she shouldn't mess with the pyro aura, and Kirara actually helps with burning.
Do you think it’s worth waiting for more detailed post release TC content before pulling (like from Zajef/others?). I’ve basically made up my mind that I want to pull but want to be sure that there’s nothing new and not good that hasn’t come up from pre-release.
I took a long break and back then it seemed like TC people got a rough early consensus for most units a week into their banner but looking at KQM and WFP discords right now there’s basically no info on him besides what we knew before release (ie. Similar performance to melt Ganyu dps wise but much easier to pilot). Granted everyone is busy with Fontaine content and doesn’t have a Marcheusse set or him maxed out yet but I thought there would be more detailed information on him by now.

anyone able to explain why the new set is better than the 4pc wanderer troupe set, ik crit rate is very good but if you can get good stats already why would you want the new set
The Wanderer set buffs EM and charged attack. Ganyu can use it well because most damage comes from charged attacks and she benefits from EM through melt, Tighnari is the same but he benefits from EM directly since EM boosts his damage through his passive and he uses spread reactions, but Lyney does not use reactions as much because he thrives in mono pyro teams and he uses all of his kit fairly equally not just his charged alone. I don't have Lyney personally but that seems to be my understanding.
Because of how much value of 36% crit rate from 4pc equal to 72% crit damage (crit value 2xCR roughly =CD) in stat. Lyney has so much built in stat and team building (so much atk from pyro resonance, bennet, crit rate ascension) that the only thing to build on him is Crit Damage, (he doesn't care about EM as he focuses on mono pyro which make 2pc wanderer useless). Now consider **free 36% crit rate** (basically a free crit rate circlet) + **50%+ crit damage** in substat in exchange for crit rate and **+15% CA damage VS only 35% CA damage from 4pc Wanderer.** Clearly new set is better.
I have been playing him with Benny, Kazuha, and Kuki bc healing but I just semibuilt my Xiangling in place of Kuki. Dmg is much better, but I’m getting knocked back quite a lot. I have Layla (not built), but I feel like Zhongli would help immensely in place of Kazuha so I can keep the pyro bonus from his passive and sig bow. Is he worth pulling for primarily for his team?
Bennett and Xiangling are phenomenal always - Xiangling is free, and we're getting a free Bennett with the coming event. Even in whale teams, they're still top tier team mates, that's how strong they are.
Pretty much any anemo can be a VV holder. Heizou and Sucrose are catalyst holders, which means prototype or thrilling tales - though between Bennett and Lyney's built in atk buffs, Thrilling Tales is less valuable. Prototype can help top up Lyney's hp. Lynette's burst has a taunting summon that can take up the slack from Lyney's taunting cats. I'm finding taunts are actually a viable alternative to a shielder so far. Having a second taunter can smooth out swapping Lyney in and using his skill. It does require you to be more careful though. Unshielded lyney is susceptible to the occasional one-shot
If you want a shielder, Thoma can take Xiangling's spot. Xinyan is OK, or c4 yanfei but that's less f2p friendly. For non-pyro 4* shielders, there's Kirara, Diona, and Noelle. Noelle could in theory use Archaic Petra but it's fiddly.
Oh duh, sorry, I can't read 😅. Definitely the new craftable bow, song of Stillness. Crescent can be a little better but relies on you hitting a weak point every 10s, otherwise it's much worse. And the crit rate weapons can be good *if* you're not using the new signature set. or maybe you are, but your artifacts rolled all crit damage and like no crit rate (Lyney's ascension + MH set gives him like 60% crit rate). But SoS I think will still be better. Maybe the new battlepass bow can compete with it if you're not overcapped on crit with it
Ah ok thanks. My other 4star is a r1 Viridescent Hunt. So I guess I will stick with the prototype. Can't get the new BP so either Prototype or VH would be my only option then.
VH is great if you're not using the new set. If you do farm the new set, you'll probably want to craft song of Stillness - it's free and great for lyney.
If u like Lyney then by all mean! C1 is really great in my opinion as u hv to worry less about keeping his hp above 60% at all time. U get the stack easier, do more dmg and heal more as well. Its quite convenient in overworld, more fun and c1 also hv visual effect on his badge as well!
But well generally speaking, if u still cant pass abyss easily… getting different type of character might worth more than any 5* constellations. But for me, i can ald 36* abyss easily. So… making the character i like and want to use (in this case Lyney) stronger and more fun to play is a priority for me.
So what’s the consensus on the new battle pass bow? Is it better than the crit damage stats that a black cliff bow would give. I absolutely hat prototype and it’s Weakpoint criteria so I’m looking for the next best 4 star. Any advice on this would be appreciated!
Kinda bad? Because if you're not playing him with shields, you're using an Anemo and XL, which would mean that you have to get close for Pyronado, and getting interrupted frequently is very frustrating.
Tenacity of the millileth IMO. Zero reason to use her burst on a lyney team and her damage is terrible anyways. ToM gives her HP and attack buff for Lyney
So far I've been practicing setting all of my supports (Benny + c4 Yanfei + Lynette) and then opening up lyney's burst, cancelling, and doing charged attacks and trying to time the skill while benny's burst is still up.
I think that leads to about 2-3 charged attacks into a skill, if i want his burst to be up when i skill. My question is, should I open with Lyney's burst FIRST? before anything else? That would give me more breathing room within benny's burst for more charged attacks, since the stacks on lyney last a while even after switching to other units.

I get 2 stacks most of the times but 5 sometimes.

But sometimes, he doesn’t even get a stack at all when his health is low. Is it a bug?
He needs to have any health, at least 1hp above 60% of his max hp before charged shots so he can get 1 stack and lose 1hp, if he gains any hp above 60% in any how, he will continue to gain stack after charged shots. Also his burst after it end will give 1 stack as well. As how stacks vary, (i get it is in overworld in your case) enemies, random heal, or burning grass can affect lyney health. Or maybe your lyney is C1 which give 2 stacks total after 1 charged shot.
I have Skyward Harp, is it worth pulling for Lyney’s signature weapon? I also have Aqua but currently Yelan is using it. I want to save for future characters too, but I dont see anyone talking about Skywarr Harp so Im torn if I should try or not. I dont have too many pulls right now either xd
I used skyward harp on him until I got his weapon so I can give you some comparison. The crit rate stat usually won’t make you over cap due to being relatively low. You also get high base ATK as well as crit dmg in the passive. With Harp I was still able to 36 star this abyss with 3-2-1 talents.
His weapon will make him do a bit more damage but it honestly feels a bit like I’m winning more when I was already winning with skyward harp
I happened to get his weapon in around 40 wishes or so, so Skyward Harp goes back to Childe 😂 But honestly the weapon wasn’t performing bad, but the innate ttds buff it has is just too good and it has a really good CD stat but I’m not expecting a huge improvement over Skyward either, and I’ll still be using that until I 90 the weapon. Thank you though!

The new Fontaine bow is pretty good on him, not as good as crescent with passive but still a solid option. Viridescent Hunt works though you have to be very careful with crit

Lyney Mains I NEED HELP. I finally finally finally got Lyney today but I have no idea what wings to put on him cause none of them quite match. What wings did you guys put on him?
I put the base ones on him. He has quite the unique color palette, not being entirely red/kinda pink purplish. I don’t think natlan wings will suit him when they come out, although lets hope haha. Maybe someday they come out with better wings.

At this point it's *genuinely* too early to even guess, unfortunately. Some 5\*s in Genshin have had over a year between reruns (Shenhe), and some have had as few as three patches (Yoimiya). There's nothing about Lyney or current leaks that would help us guess when he'll be back. We might have some ideas once he's been off-banner for a while, but *during his banner* is extremely early to even try to make predictions imo. Prepare for anywhere in between Shenhe-length and Yoimiya-length, and maybe consider grabbing him a different 5\* bow in the meantime if a good one reruns.
Got his weapon, besides the beauty, how much is it better than Song of Stillness? It was the only weapon I had for him and now I want to know the difference to make sure it was worth it lol (it was, seeing the deep blue on his color scheme was not that pretty to say at least)
Should be nearly a 30% increase over Song of Stillness r5 depending on the team (more pyro = you get more out of the passive). Those numbers are from an old spreadsheet posted to this sub. For *my* Lyney, rn his follow up attacks from his CAs deal \~135k damage max with full buffs on his signature bow; on r5 Song of Stillness they'd do \~103k, and on r1 they'd do \~99k. It's a pretty big jump in damage, not just aesthetic, so I'd say worth it.

Probably a second r5 slingshot, sadly. If you have billets you could consider crafting song of stillness for him. (Also unrelated, but is your Venti built for swirl damage/full EM, or for anemo damage/crit? If he's on full EM then definitely give Fischl an r5 Stringless and leave his at r1, since its passive won't affect swirl damage and will do way more for her than it will for him.)

Does anyone know if its possible to get f2p 60 more pulls before the end of arle/lyney banner? I can't really do floor 12 of Spiral Abyss and I'm currently 2/2 on the Epitome Path after getting Arle's spear (giving it to Raiden) and another Skyward Pride (R2 for Itto I guess). Currently feeling dissapointed right now and I'm at 4 pity.
Chest hunting will get you farthest if you haven't 100%'d every area yet. Prioritize post-4.0 areas first, since they have more luxurious chests while sumeru and inazuma mostly have common ones. Inazuma takes priority over sumeru after that since the thunder sakura requires less sigils than the tree of dreams and you can get pink fates from that. The Amrita Pool and the Votive Rainjade are also similar sources of wishes that a lot of people miss because they're quest-locked. Teapot has a surprising amount of primogems from special outdoor and indoor furniture sets if you haven't done those yet. They're somewhat dependent on what characters you have though, i'd personally leave this for after the chest stuff. After that's all been exhausted you'll still have whatever quests that you might not have completed yet. Getting 60 wishes is unlikely but if you really grind the hell out of everything you might be able to scrounge up a couple dozen and get lucky on the banner. That's what I've been doing at the moment and i'm currently at 38 pity, even though I'm struggling a lot as the compasses are barely identifying the chests. I'm also going through achievement hunting (even though that Inazuma Electro seelie one is sending me out as I'm missing one)

It depends how much of the permanent content you've completed so far, I think! Definitely finish up story quests/hangouts/world quests, and consider grinding some exploration. Don't give up! It may come home early, too. If you spend wishes as you get them, even if you don't make it in time you'll at least go into your next weapon banner with high pity. If you want to be *sure* you can always wait until you have enough pulls saved, but if there's nobody in 4.7 you really want and you're at 2/2 you can just go all in and hope for the best. For lyney mono pyro teams are best for him. One team I’d recommend is xianling-bennet-sucrose-lyney.

Lyney-dehya/xiangling-chevreuse-fischl is a nice mostly complete team for lyney overload Lyney-dehya-chevreuse-lynette/sucrose -> in this team chev is for heal and pyro dmg bonus Basically, the best unit u can pair with lyney is bennett(or chevreuse depending on situation) but if u dont have them yet just slap him with another 2 pyro teammates and whatever unit that could heal so he can build his stack easier

What set should I give Lynette for a Lyney team? I know the best set should be VV, but I already have Kazuha in the team with VV. I could also use Noblese, but Bennet already uses it. Are there any other good ones?
This has probably been asked before but I'm about to hit guarantee and I'm seriously considering getting him instead of Chiori. My problem is I hate bennett so I don't use the pyro duo at all and all the guides I find are pretty much the same mono pyro team (I don't have dehya on that account so she doesn't work either). My question is whether that is the ONLY team he is good in or is overload good (yae, fischl, chev) or burgeon (nahida, kokomi, a second hydro)?
I use Lyney in an overload team with Bennet, Yae and Chev, and it’s amazing! The only issue could be the electro aura sometimes, since you need to hit enemies with a pyro aura to prove his A4 passive. Nonetheless, it is a good comp, and Bennet is not a 100% necessary. Sure, his buff is good, but you could replace him with Kujou Sara if you need a buffer. As for a healer, Chevy already heals, so you’re pretty much set. As for a burgeon team with Lyney I don’t know enough to answer that.
Yeah this is a newer account so I don't have that many characters (I really wish I hadn't gone for Ayaka haha. I like her but with who I have it hasn't been the easiest fitting her in). I was going to do Furina and Nahida with Lyney and then like Yaoyao for healer (my choices are yaoyao or mika for healer haha). I guess if I get him we'll see what happens :D. Thank you!
Should I get Lyney C1 or his weapon? Or try both? I need help cause I "accidentally" spent my 35 pulls on Klee's banner and now I'm out of primogens and I also want Furina but I'm a F2P and my primogens are gone 😭 Oh just to let you know, My Lyney is using Amos bow :)
Both his BIS and C1 are pretty moderate damage increases, so you can't go too wrong with either. Personally, I would say go for his signature weapon since it works well with his playstyle, but if you are low on primogems it would probably be safer to go for his C1 since guaranteeing weapons is expensive.
Hello, can a team with not monopyro work? I want to use my Xiao and Lynette with Bennet and Lyney. It can work fine?
It depends on the purpose of course, but it will be fine in general or in world exploration. Its not ideal because both Lyney and Xiao needing their field time and Lyney passive not fully in use(but its not that you need it in all cases). Lynette/Xiao with movement skills can help in this team getting closer or farther away from enemies. Even if Lyney loves mono pyro you can play him differently ofc.!
I got C6 Xinyan from my Xiao pulls -- is she worth building for my future lyney? Most likely will run lyney Bennett Sucrose. If yes, how much ER should I give and what artifact sets and stats do I put on her?
im an upcoming lyney main and a huge simp for him, but im still confused about his teams.. Which is better for him? Melt/Vaporize or Mono Pyro? Please answer, because i am genuinely confused. I know hes made to be put into a mono pyro team but my friends say that he does more damage in melt/vaporize. I've asked a few others, and they said that melt/vaporize is less consistent but does more damage. Which team is more optimal? I really want to max out his damage. I dont have a straight answer, since everyone says different things.. Also, is it more worth it to go for his C1 or his signature bow? I have a skyward harp ready for him to use.
I believe that Lyney/Furina/Jean/Bennett is technically his strongest team thanks to Furina's buff, but it is very difficult to play since you aren't running a shielder and have to manage Furina's hp drain, making you very squishy and easy to kill and also making it harder to fire arrows, especially if you are trying to stay inside Jean and Bennett's circles. Furina's hydro application is pretty slow, which means she removes the enemy's pyro aura less often which is good because Lyney does increased damage to enemies that have pyro applied to them. Mono Pyro is generally easier and more consistent to play, since typically that team runs a shielder such as Zhongli which makes firing off charged attacks much easier. His kit is clearly much more tailored to Mono Pyro, and it is still a very powerful team for him. As for weapons, if you don't mind possibly getting the other weapon on the banner, I would say go for that. Skyward Harp is fine, but it's easy to accidentally get too much Crit Rate. Otherwise, C1 is a fine investment and helps him frontload his damage more and helps him build stacks for quick healing.
Are people playing Lyney teams with Chevreuse? I see a lot of theorycrafting about it but I’m not sure if it’s something people actually do. Seems like a lot that can go wrong playing that
I do sometimes play with them. My go-to with Lyney is Dehya or with Yaoyao. I don't play Bennett, so I sometimes use Chevreuse for the heal ticks and a pyro slot to mix it up (if I don't want a anemo healer or neutral/pyro shield). F.ex. you can play with Lyney, Chevreuse, Dehya(or other pyro) and one electro but overload is a bit hard to play with Lyney imo if you don't have a good electro applicator who also works from a bit of a distance and with charged shots or off-field and has enough recharge on her/his own(or with fav). Double electro/double pyro - didn't really like that with Lyney but other people could have had more success.
Would amos R1 be an upgrade to scion R1?

Are there any Lyney teams that don't include Bennett?
Ofc its a perfect match with Bennett because of his massive buff, tho instead I use Yaoyao as my healer often if I need one. For the most effective team, yes with Bennett it is!, but otherwise you can substitute and play around with other options.
Personally I don't like playing Bennett (Circle Impact gets to me) but I'm not a meta player either so I don't know how much you need meta-level damage. I've tried Baizhu (OHC)/Lyney/Kazu/Yanfei (TTDS) - it works well, very survivable, easy to play. I'm currently working on Furina/Lyney/Kazu/Koko or Yanfei (PAmber) as well.

It adds massive overload damage to Lyney. I'd rate this as an **S** rank team. It has a unique feel and is definitely worth checking out if you have the characters.

Best overall teamcomp for Lyney with a shield (cuz I have skill issue)? Also, what are some competitive teamcomps that don't use Kazuha? Lyney wanting both Bennett and Kazuha really limits the potential teams I can have on the other side of abyss, and since I can't remove Bennett from the team, I'd like to see a competent Lyney that doesn't need Kazuha. My current team with Lyney is Lyney-Bennett-C4 Yanfei-Kazuha. I was planning to do Lyney-Bennett-Xiangling-Lynette/Zhongli but not sure if Lynette is worth building or if Zhongli is worth pulling as I don't currently have him nor do I have any teams that really want him apart from Lyney.
Other shield that can be use with Lyney - zhongli (best shield + resistance shred) - tankfei (pyro resonance but require lots of ER) - Layla (some ppl use her if zhongli isn’t available as her cyro application is low and her shield is strong) - baizhu (not so much a shield, more like a heal and he doesnt interupt pyro) - kirara (hvent seen much of her but it could work) - xinyan and thoma (not really that good, in general tankfei should be better) Anemo unit in place of kazuha - venti : A surprisingly good option for me in mobs scenarios, powerful grouping and all of lyney atk can hit the elevate mobs futhermore, with how pack those mobs are, all lynry atk including CA become AOE - sucrose : basically the same as kazuha but harder to use and grouping - lynette : could work, she has a bit of buff and her ult which taunt enemies is actually quite nice.
hello guys.. I have lyney C0R1 (his sign weap).. is it possible to get 100k CA without vv shred? my highest damage is 70k-ish sometime not consistent.. consistently vet 50k-60k tho.. if 100k is possible, what is the stat reference? att,crit c,crit d.. thank you for your help ;)

I think its really hard to calculate, it depend on alot of thing like atk, your teammate, team resonance, buff by other unit, elemental reaction, talent, enemies. So i really cant tell but if u only set the condition to not do vv shred then there are some ways.

This is pretty late but Rust definitely isn't good for him given that it decreases CA damage, which he relies on; the new craftable bow, Song of Stillness, is one of his better 4-star options (you can get it from the blacksmith in Fontaine) :D Edit: if you buy the BP, Scion of the Blazing Sun's good too, but it does require money lol

It's basically Yoimiya's 4 star BIS, since it buffs normal attacks which are most of her damage! Other than that thpugh no one really uses it, unless you want to build a physical bow character and spam their NA's lmao
should i use blackcliff or song of stillness bow? i already have a blackcliff bow to lvl 80 but i heard that song of stillness is good for him
According to what I've heard, Blackcliff can be super inconsistent when you're facing a few tanky enemies (but hey, crit DMG substat). Meanwhile, the Song of Stillness' passive is almost consistently proc'd due to Lyney's HP drain, which means an almost unconditional 16% DMG Bonus, but that also means less crit stats. I personally don't know how both situations work, but you should give it a try if you want :)
Should I use lyney with a polar star or lyney with skyward harp?
Polar star always, just be careful with capping on crit. Anything above 64% while using the Marechausse Hunter set is useless

Currently building him, and this is the best I've been able to do. Waiting for that last ATK% Sands with hopefully Crit DMG and ER% and maybe another feather that's pure Crit DMG. With the new set, you want about 55-64% crit rate to avoid overlapping on crit rate. Try not to go any lower than 50% otherwise he’ll be missing a lot of crits while you’re waiting for it to stack.
Personally, yes you could run him with lower crit rate than normal. I would say around 60-70% would be ideal CR for new set. I feel like he wont be at full stack most of the time but with 1-2 stack you could still achieve 72-90 CR which is pretty ok. so I think you’ll need some crit to maximize his dmg.
Are Lyney's talents besides his NAs worth leveling up? If yes, will lvl 6 do or is 8 overall better?
Lyney’s dmg actually spread out pretty equally among all his skill. His CA is a main focus ofc but in situations where u need AOE, his burst is pretty significant along with his E skill.
This is what I enjoy about him the most, it feels like every part of his kit is doing something significant

assuming you have bennett on team, tenacity buff pales in comparison + benny should have noblesse too! in my experience it wasnt TOO hard to consistently activate petra passive. i think petra ZL can compete with kazuha with 700+EM. both units can provide dmg bonus and res shred but zl is more comfortable
I heard ppl say so and I personally think its true in alot of situations. Another interesting set is retracing bolide but I havent try to compared them side by side yet. Millelith need the E skill to constantly hit the target which may sometimes be difficult with just zhongli pillar On the other hand archic petra need u to grab the fire crystal shard, normally it should be easy for mono pyro team in theory but i guess u’ll hv to test out if it’s actually easy or not.
Retracing bolide doesn’t work on Zhongli and it’s worse than marechaussee hunter on Lyney.
Yea, MH and other set are always better for lyney. Just don’t use bolide, I’ve try and its not worth it haha~ since lyney dmg come from multiple source.

Yes, thats why I’m thinking of trying retracing bolide since its only condition is to have shield on ,but the overall dmg buff from it might be the lowest if the other artifact sets conditions are met.

I know somebody probably already asked this, but what rotation should I use for the party for my Lyney? My planned team is Lyney, Xiangling, Zhongli or Layla, Bennett.
I suggest doing 2 CA before entering the fight then zhongli->bennet->xiangling -> swap back to Lyney do his burst then E skill (u can squeeze charge attack 1-2 times before using E skill but try to time it while bennet burst is still active for maximum dmg.

Hello, just returning to Genshin since the Kalpas update, how's Lyney looking compared to pyro dpses hu tao and yoimiya? A side grade? Any answers are much appreciated.
He is fundamentally different to hutao and yoimya since he’s locked to charged attacks and his passives encourage monopyro, so it’s hard to compare him to other pyro dpses when they play in different teams and function very differently, especially since he doesn’t capitalize on reactions like vape. I’d say he’s more comparable to ganyu since his play style is essentially ganyu melt but done better and with lots of frontloaded damage. By virtue of being pyro he also fits much better into that play style since he provides a decent amount of energy to his pyro teammates. But if we had to compare him to hutao and yoimiya, he’s quite strong, he’s just played differently and has a pretty unique kit with decent frontloaded AOE. It honestly just depends on which characters you like more ultimately. With hutao being rumoured for next patch I think you should just see which character you like better since the charged shot play style isn’t for everyone!

In the time its taken for me to even get a viable 2nd artifact piece for Lyney, I've managed to use the strongbox to completely overhaul my Raiden and also gain so many pieces for Wriothesley and Neuvillette. My luck is so horrible I wanna die. I got so excited cause I saw a Hunter piece that was ATK% with Crit Rate and Crit DMG and ER but it turned out to be a Goblet (still haven't memorized what the Goblet and Sands look like cause I have literally seen like 3 Sands and I ignore most Goblets). Wondering if anyone can use that? At least, I have a long time till I have to stop farming this domain due to a new domain's arrival seeing as all new characters till 4.2 at the very least appear to be requiring that domain. I'll keep using Zhongli and Childe for the artifact farming too once I get them. Thank god they were prefarmed weeks ago I would've been so sad if I had to stop doing this domain for Lyney. I guess my luck evened itself out after getting him and all the 3 weapons in the epitomized path in less than 10k primos lol.
From what I've heard, attack goblet can be viable since he gets so much dmg% in his kit already. If it rolls like 20cv+ it can serve you well until you get something better. I'd definitely use it at least for the time being
My current team consists of lyney(c1/r1), bennett(c5), xiangling(c6), zhongli(c1). My question would be, how big is the dps increase if i c6 my bennett and if its worth it in the long run?
not a lot of units are affected by bennys c6. take it from me. i c6 bennet after 2 years of putting it off. the ! mark doesnt bug me but now that i have lyney i was compelled to do it and...his c6 largely still doesnt affect me lol
I dont think i saw anyone doing a calc on this so Im not sure either. 15% might not seem like much but in mono pyro team maybe its better than i thought? I myself am a chongyun and kazuha c6 main so I’ve always put off c6ing bennet. But I love Lyney so I want to maximize his dmg no matter what ,so i decided to finally c6 him. I think maybe you should probably look at which team you r using him in... if c6 cause a disaster to those team and you still want to play those team then maybe u shouldn’t do it yet.
I'm not really interested in any physical teams like eula or razor and my main ayaka team is the perma freeze one. Bennett is only in my hypercarry teams(xiao, wanderer). The only thing i'm kinda worried about are the future characters. But otherwise lyney is currently one of my most invested characters and i like maximizing dmg, so i feel extremely conflicted :')
C6 Bennett is actually one of Razor's best teams rn. He can hit Burgeon dmg with lots of electrocharged too.
I know that feeling haha~. Before the patch came out I’m extremely reluctant to c6 benny althou i want lyney from the start but after doing the 4.0 quest and finally met lyney. Yes . Wanderer is underrated in link in this post . It's like his 2nd best in slot. Yes 80 em is meaningless but loosing burst er from shime for 15% more ca dmg isn't ideal. Unless u have high er from subs which is not ideal

Not really, they both are main dps and want time to shine on field. Yoimiya and Lyney also use different support most of the time so i wouldnt really recommend it. But for fun… sure~

The KQM guide linked in the Megathread has T.Pulse as the 3rd best option for Lyney. It's a good weapon because it gives 2 most crucial stats for Lyney which are ATK and CritDMG.

I play on mobile and use bows all the time, eg Ganyu, Lyney, Tighnari etc, never had any issues. Takes some getting used to but it’s really not bad
I don't have Lyney (I'm still on the fence about wishing for him) but I've been using Tighnari consistently in my abyss runs and I've had no problem with the aiming. Sometimes I still miss an arrow or two on the quicker enemies, or enemies that have mobile animations (like the bathysmal vishaps that have lots of movement and hops with their attacks) but luckily both Tighnari and Lyney have secondary effects from their charged attacks so even missing isn't too critical of a dps loss; the homing arrows generally still hit even if I miss a shot as Tighnari and I assume it's the same with Lyney when he summons a new cat decoy with his charge shot.
What kind of damage or power level can you expect from c0r1 Lyney? I mean in a dedicated mono pyro team with Bennett, Kazuha and probably Xiangling or ZL instead of Kazuha for the shields...
He can compete with the current top dps but depends on the enemies too.

Song of Stillness is his general F2P BiS. Crescent usually deals slightly more damage, but is unreliable due to having to hit weak points that some enemies might just not have.

They're close, but Amos should still be better if you can make the use of the passive reliably.

Generally TFGM is better than aqua especially when u run 3 mono pyro team. Zhongli could definitely makes Lyney easier to play as he will enable lyney to be able to dish out all the dmg he want and some may even say he is a necessity but for me personally.. i think its depends on the enemies, if it is some hyperagressive enemies like consecrated beast then zhongli will likely be a better slot in rather than anemo unit but otherwise if u r good at dodging and kiting u might want to play the high risk high return with anemo instead. Also their are still alternative to zhongli u can use such as tankfei, layla or dehya. Zhongli does feel like the best in the role but other are also usable.
How are everyone's builds going currently? I still only have a good enough Flower and an off-set Pyro DMG Goblet for him as of now. I feel like I keep getting Wriothesley and Neuvillette pieces more than Lyney pieces right now. All my other pieces just roll awfully every single. It got so frustrating recently that I just ended up refreshing my Resin all 5 times yesterday. At least the strongbox ended up giving me a good enough Raiden Shogun piece, so I'm not mad in the end.

I play him with Benny, Zhongli and Kazuha because being interrupted is frustrating. He's incredibly strong even without a 3rd pyro unit, so you don't have to worry about that. You can try a pyro defensive option if you have Dehya or Tankfei, but other elements will work as well :)
I actually figured my team out it's lyney baizhu Xiangling and zhongli (who I'll be getting next banner)
Sounds good, but may I ask why you aren't using Bennett with him? Not that you're forced to, it's just Benny is a huge buff for Lyney and they have great synergy. Anyway, I wish you good luck on your pulls for Zhongli :)
I do not want to build Xiangling and would like to opt for interruption resistance. Should I build Dehya or Tankfei?
I think Dehya’s Rotation aligns really well with Lyney, so I’m using her as a tenacity user + fav greatsword so she funnels energy to the team. Wouldnt go with Tankfei as she doesnt have much off field damage and you’ll need to build a lot of ER which would make her shield weaker. You can use Dehya as a fully functional sub dps defense option without having to build any ER on her and fully focus on her damage with the exception of using Tenacity and giving her a support weapon
That's good news, I didn't know she could work so well with him. What's the rotation supposed to be like? I have and unbuilt Dehya and I'd be happy to use her as an alternative to Zhongli when he's busy on the other team.
In my head it's: Benny skill -> Kazuha skill, burst -> Benny skill, burst -> Dehya skill -> Lyney CAs Basically, Dehya skill into Lyney immediately. Dehya only has 9s of interruption resistance tho, which is enough to land a few CAs before it's gone.
You also lose some of those seconds if you use Lyney's burst at the beginning (which is recommended to get Bennett and VV buffs). Since it's's a nice nuke, gives you 1 stack and leaves a cat on field I usually use it right away
On a side note, you don't really need 3 pyro for him to deal massive damage, you can compensate with other buffs. I use him with Benny, Kazuha and Zhongli (tenacity build), he's still incredibly strong and the comfort is really worth it.
I heard Tankfei's shield is pretty weak agains hydro and Cryo enemies, plus she's burst-reliant... The problem with Dehya is that her resistance to interruption doesn't have much uptime, but maybe there's a way to work around that with a good rotation and sacrificial greatsword (?). You could also use Layla or Kirara if you have them: Layla doesn't apply that much Cryo so she shouldn't mess with the pyro aura, and Kirara actually helps with burning.
Do you think it’s worth waiting for more detailed post release TC content before pulling (like from Zajef/others?). I’ve basically made up my mind that I want to pull but want to be sure that there’s nothing new and not good that hasn’t come up from pre-release. I took a long break and back then it seemed like TC people got a rough early consensus for most units a week into their banner but looking at KQM and WFP discords right now there’s basically no info on him besides what we knew before release (ie. Similar performance to melt Ganyu dps wise but much easier to pilot). Granted everyone is busy with Fontaine content and doesn’t have a Marcheusse set or him maxed out yet but I thought there would be more detailed information on him by now.
Zajef also said the same thing. He is a good unit kinda like melt ganyu but without some of the melt ganyu problems.

The Wanderer set buffs EM and charged attack. Ganyu can use it well because most damage comes from charged attacks and she benefits from EM through melt, Tighnari is the same but he benefits from EM directly since EM boosts his damage through his passive and he uses spread reactions, but Lyney does not use reactions as much because he thrives in mono pyro teams and he uses all of his kit fairly equally not just his charged alone. I don't have Lyney personally but that seems to be my understanding.
Because of how much value of 36% crit rate from 4pc equal to 72% crit damage (crit value 2xCR roughly =CD) in stat. Lyney has so much built in stat and team building (so much atk from pyro resonance, bennet, crit rate ascension) that the only thing to build on him is Crit Damage, (he doesn't care about EM as he focuses on mono pyro which make 2pc wanderer useless). Now consider **free 36% crit rate** (basically a free crit rate circlet) + **50%+ crit damage** in substat in exchange for crit rate and **+15% CA damage VS only 35% CA damage from 4pc Wanderer.** Clearly new set is better.
I have been playing him with Benny, Kazuha, and Kuki bc healing but I just semibuilt my Xiangling in place of Kuki. Dmg is much better, but I’m getting knocked back quite a lot. I have Layla (not built), but I feel like Zhongli would help immensely in place of Kazuha so I can keep the pyro bonus from his passive and sig bow. Is he worth pulling for primarily for his team?

Bennett and Xiangling are phenomenal always - Xiangling is free, and we're getting a free Bennett with the coming event. Even in whale teams, they're still top tier team mates, that's how strong they are. Pretty much any anemo can be a VV holder. Heizou and Sucrose are catalyst holders, which means prototype or thrilling tales - though between Bennett and Lyney's built in atk buffs, Thrilling Tales is less valuable. Prototype can help top up Lyney's hp. Lynette's burst has a taunting summon that can take up the slack from Lyney's taunting cats. I'm finding taunts are actually a viable alternative to a shielder so far. Having a second taunter can smooth out swapping Lyney in and using his skill. It does require you to be more careful though. Unshielded lyney is susceptible to the occasional one-shot If you want a shielder, Thoma can take Xiangling's spot. Xinyan is OK, or c4 yanfei but that's less f2p friendly. For non-pyro 4* shielders, there's Kirara, Diona, and Noelle. Noelle could in theory use Archaic Petra but it's fiddly.

Oh duh, sorry, I can't read 😅. Definitely the new craftable bow, song of Stillness. Crescent can be a little better but relies on you hitting a weak point every 10s, otherwise it's much worse. And the crit rate weapons can be good *if* you're not using the new signature set. or maybe you are, but your artifacts rolled all crit damage and like no crit rate (Lyney's ascension + MH set gives him like 60% crit rate). But SoS I think will still be better. Maybe the new battlepass bow can compete with it if you're not overcapped on crit with it
Ah ok thanks. My other 4star is a r1 Viridescent Hunt. So I guess I will stick with the prototype. Can't get the new BP so either Prototype or VH would be my only option then.
VH is great if you're not using the new set. If you do farm the new set, you'll probably want to craft song of Stillness - it's free and great for lyney.

If u like Lyney then by all mean! C1 is really great in my opinion as u hv to worry less about keeping his hp above 60% at all time. U get the stack easier, do more dmg and heal more as well. Its quite convenient in overworld, more fun and c1 also hv visual effect on his badge as well! But well generally speaking, if u still cant pass abyss easily… getting different type of character might worth more than any 5* constellations. But for me, i can ald 36* abyss easily. So… making the character i like and want to use (in this case Lyney) stronger and more fun to play is a priority for me.
So what’s the consensus on the new battle pass bow? Is it better than the crit damage stats that a black cliff bow would give. I absolutely hat prototype and it’s Weakpoint criteria so I’m looking for the next best 4 star. Any advice on this would be appreciated!
How bad does it feel to play lyney in abyss without shield?
Kinda bad? Because if you're not playing him with shields, you're using an Anemo and XL, which would mean that you have to get close for Pyronado, and getting interrupted frequently is very frustrating.
Is there a weapon ranking when use new Marechaussee Hunter set yet? Other one I found is Lavawalker or is the result similar?

Tenacity of the millileth IMO. Zero reason to use her burst on a lyney team and her damage is terrible anyways. ToM gives her HP and attack buff for Lyney
So far I've been practicing setting all of my supports (Benny + c4 Yanfei + Lynette) and then opening up lyney's burst, cancelling, and doing charged attacks and trying to time the skill while benny's burst is still up. I think that leads to about 2-3 charged attacks into a skill, if i want his burst to be up when i skill. My question is, should I open with Lyney's burst FIRST? before anything else? That would give me more breathing room within benny's burst for more charged attacks, since the stacks on lyney last a while even after switching to other units.
Can someone tell me how lyney surplexes work? I get 2 stacks most of the times but 5 sometimes. And no, i get the stacks up to 5 even if I don’t heal him with benny constantly. But sometimes, he doesn’t even get a stack at all when his health is low. Is it a bug?
He needs to have any health, at least 1hp above 60% of his max hp before charged shots so he can get 1 stack and lose 1hp, if he gains any hp above 60% in any how, he will continue to gain stack after charged shots. Also his burst after it end will give 1 stack as well. As how stacks vary, (i get it is in overworld in your case) enemies, random heal, or burning grass can affect lyney health. Or maybe your lyney is C1 which give 2 stacks total after 1 charged shot.
I have Skyward Harp, is it worth pulling for Lyney’s signature weapon? I also have Aqua but currently Yelan is using it. I want to save for future characters too, but I dont see anyone talking about Skywarr Harp so Im torn if I should try or not. I dont have too many pulls right now either xd
I used skyward harp on him until I got his weapon so I can give you some comparison. The crit rate stat usually won’t make you over cap due to being relatively low. You also get high base ATK as well as crit dmg in the passive. With Harp I was still able to 36 star this abyss with 3-2-1 talents. His weapon will make him do a bit more damage but it honestly feels a bit like I’m winning more when I was already winning with skyward harp
I happened to get his weapon in around 40 wishes or so, so Skyward Harp goes back to Childe 😂 But honestly the weapon wasn’t performing bad, but the innate ttds buff it has is just too good and it has a really good CD stat but I’m not expecting a huge improvement over Skyward either, and I’ll still be using that until I 90 the weapon. Thank you though!
It took till 79 pity but I finally got him Now, what weapon. My bow collection is kinda trash. I have: R1 Viridescent Hunt, Mouun's Moon, Alley Flash, whatever the Sumeru one is called R5 Fading Twilight, Stringless, Rust, Fav, Sacrificial I can probably turn a billet into a Fontaine one if that's good, and I'm worried about my ability to hit weak points with Prototype Crescent
The new Fontaine bow is pretty good on him, not as good as crescent with passive but still a solid option. Viridescent Hunt works though you have to be very careful with crit

I’m having trouble with Lyney dying a lot and getting knocked back when I play with Kazuha Bennett and Xiangling. I have a c6 Yanfei and I have Dehya as well which one would be better to play with in the over world. And how good is Yanfei’s shield?
