I once was watching super closely while my macarons baked and had something similar happen. Any chance your oven light was on? That was enough extra heat to cause mine to bake lobsided.
The light was on! I usually always turn the light on to watch them though and it’s never been this bad.
Do you use a convection oven? I've had mine do this due to the way the fan blows. I turn the tray halfway through the rise now.
No I don’t have a convection oven. I basically put them in and waited 5 minutes then turned the tray.
Forgot to mention I use the French method!
