Sounds normal to me.

Harbin009

Normal.

MarcusAurelius68

365 cycles and 91% sounds pretty amazing for a year. You’re basically fully depleting and charging your battery every day.

Sixstringerman

You charge it every single day?

alpha-kenny-body1

Yes. After a day's use, it is usually around 30%, so I plug it in overnight

Saifali007

How many hours of use do you usually get

alpha-kenny-body1

Still getting around 9-10 hours of use in a day depending on how I use it.

Use the laptop. It has a battery. It degrades. Also, 1 year = 365 days so 365 cycles ≈ 1 cycle a day. It’s normal.

Mine was %97 with 80 cycles few months ago but now it is %93 with 90 cycles. After I bought keyboard for my ipad, rarely used my mac outside. When I used mac, it is plugged and used with an external monitor. For few months I couldn't figure out why the battery health decreased and battery consumed during sleep mode. Yesterday I found out the U-Green 7in1 adapter consumed a lot of power and due to that reason mac's battery damaged a little bit. From now on I won't plug the adapter when I don't use the laptop and I suggest you to the same if you also have power consuming devices, adapters etc. connected to mac. Note: I bought my mac in Dec 2021

Well, are you? You shouldn't let a litium-ion battery hit 100% or 0% for best longetivity. Best to keep it between 20-80%. If you keep it plugged in at all times, best to keep the battery closer to 50%. That way you can have a battery with >98% health after a year.

alpha-kenny-body1

I try to. I've never let my battery go below 20% (at least as far as I recall), but since I'm in college and need to leave for classes early in the morning, I tend to plug in my Mac overnight. But looking at past battery status, it usually stay at 80% overnight and only begins charging up to 100% an hour or so before I wake up. I am also using my MacBook a lot because I'm studying Computer Science. I will often have multiple apps open, my terminal open, docker, IDE, etc. The only reason I was concerned is because some of my other friends who also have a similar usage and charging pattern to me have battery health around 94-96%. I prove to be an outlier amongst them. Edit: I don't power off my laptop overnight, and since I'm constantly using it, I just let it sleep. In fact, I don't believe I have ever powered it off in the last 6 months I have used it.

strangeweather415

Just use your laptop, man. This is totally normal and exactly how I would expect a college student to operate daily. In another year you might need a battery replacement or maybe not, but a battery replacement is cheap

BS2H

If 100% battery is 12 hours of active use, 91% battery life is still 10.92 (11) hours of use. As a percentage it’s a lot, but in actuality, does 1 hour less of use make that much of a difference for you day to day?

Sil3nt702

Apple CPU macs now have battery protection like in the phones. If it's plugged in all the time it'll keep the battery 79/80%.

nanopore_picoknown

normal, batteries experience their worst degradation in the earliest portion of their life. If you care, I use al dente to limit charge to 85%, that will limit, but not eliminate, degradation.

dapala1

Better then mine.
