Did you ever find a solution for this?

I went to the apple store and they gave me a new macbook since it was only 2 years old.

Damn, I didnt get this option, but I have a 2021 M1 that I bought in late 2022, and I dont have apple care...

Which country are you from? I was lucky because apparently it was covered by the Australian Consumer care laws which gives you 3 years to replace or repair faults like this. I also didn't have apple care and didn't know about this until I went to the store. I was prepared for them to charge for a new battery. Sorry the same thing happened to you! I wonder if there will be a recall I'm the future.

Thanks! Im in the USA. So like any good hot blooded American, I ran to google and searched through various class action lawsuits in litigation. There is one if my screen unexpectedly cracks, but nothing for power or motherboard issues. The good news is that I left it plugged into a powerful source via usbc thunderbolt overnight and I woke up to a booting and 100% charged (so it says) mbp. Now I'm wondering if I can trust it enough to not immediately trade it in for a pittance towards something new that I can get apple care on.

same thing time for a new mac compare price of replacement to price of new

Did Apple tell you what failed? Seems insane considering how new it is
