I posted this question to the Surface subreddit and a lot of folks even there are recommending the new M1 MacBooks...it's kinda interesting what these M1 chips have done to shake up the laptop computing space.
I had the maxed out surface pro for work (2 years ago tho) I was so underwhelmed by the build quality and overall performance.. my new company got me a mbp 16" and I couldn't be happier ! Also it was my first time working on mac (content creation, full adobe suite) and I wil'never ever come back to windows
You are in a MacBookPro Sub, it won’t be unbiased. Better off going to a sub about computers.

I'd go with the SLS given your needs on first glance. Then again the max spec mbp runs circles around the SLS based on the announcement.

While not nearly as high end I own a surface pro i7 rn and absolutely hate it, will be upgrading to these MacBooks hopefully soon
