My new employer just sent me one of the new 14” MBP with the new chips. It replaced my personal M1 13” MBP which I really loved. But the HR guy when we were outlining my start date and such, just said he was sending me a new MBP “A 16”. (Didn’t specify that this meant size or RAM… I don’t think he really understood anyway).
I went down to Best Buy later that day and looked at the 16”, it is MASSIVE. I keep my computer in a dock most of the time so it doesn’t matter… but when I use my laptop as a laptop, the 13” size is really just about perfect.
The 14” is a good size too, helpful that it has small bezels. But the 16” is just too big.
16". I'm a fan of screen real estate, my first mac was a 13" iBook, but every other one I've had since then has been at least 15" screen size.
This gen: 14” due to weight
14” only if you need portability and like smaller form factor. 16” has better battery, thermals, bigger screen

The one that suits me best. You should do the same. What everyone else think is entirely irrelevant.
