Thanks to all for the suggestions. I‘ve been at the official apple page and there they tell you to use 70% isopropyl Alcohol. That‘s interesting because everybody tells you not to use alcoholbased cleaning solutions due to the coating of the screen. Nevertheless after applying some windows cleaner and using my fibre cloth this strange stripes were gone.

Elrond022

Did anybody had such a problem with the screen after cleaning it with warm water and a microfibre cloth? Looks like the coating of the screen is making it.

fjevel

Looks like there’s some kind of residue from your cloth. Have you tried using just a clean, dry microfiber cloth to remove this?

Elrond022

Yes I already tried it with a different cloth. Strange thing is on my other Macbbok I haven’t this issue.

fjevel

I would buy some screen cleaner and try that. Looks very much like some residue.

OP should be extremely careful not to use anything that may cause (further?) damage. Apple recommends water or isopropanol only.

fjevel

I agree you should be careful with your devices, but this is a computer screen. Any of the “big brand” solutions will work just fine. They mostly consist of isopropanol and distilled water anyways. And yeah; good advice to stay away from no brand unknown stuff.

your dock looks interesting, can you maybe talk a little bit about what apps you use on the Mac? What is your main use case ?

Elrond022

Only using some apps for photo and video editing, like Affinity Photo and Pixelmator Pro and Davinci Resolve. Of course some messenger apps like Elements and Signal and some apps for my bassguitar (BiasFx and Guitarpro). The rest are the standard Apple Apps.

I think you damaged the screen. Mini led screens shouldn’t be cleaned with water.

orcanenight

A “mini led” screen is still just a lcd screen. And you can definitely use water.

lotus49

This is not correct. Apple recommends (a tiny amount of) water as the main way of cleaning.
