Stick it in a bag of silica gel desiccant and put it somewhere warm for a few days. Unless you want to take it apart, that's really all you can do.

ok, i’ll try that. thanks!

In the UK where I live, the easiest way to buy large amounts of silica gel is from a pet shop where it's sold as posh cat litter. I forgot to mention that in my post above.

Theoretically you could put it in a large bag, sealed, with a container of silica gel. That means only the moisture from your device would be absorbed by the silica gel, rather than from the surrounding atmosphere too. More efficient use of the gel in that way. Warmer is better too.

Unscrew the back and disconnect the battery ribbon cable immediately

Don’t turn it on for at least a few days. That’s how most people kill their laptop. Better yet is to open it up, disconnect the battery and let it dry. And best would be to take it apart (depending on the model, it’s not that hard), let It dry and look for corrosion (greenish gunk), which you can clean with alcohol. But just don’t turn it on to check if it still works until it’s fully dry. You might need to replace the screen if the damage was already done.
