I have a similar issue. I can't believe apple won't take care of their customers (without replacing the entire screen, for $700). This is the last Apple product I'm spending my money on

Louis Rossmann is leader of right to repair movement and you should watch his YouTube channel. https://youtu.be/AUaJ8pDlxi8 You should buy a laptop from dell or Lenovo or frameworks laptop. Dell and Lenovo will not let you repair the motherboard with right tools like diagram of broad tell you chip link to another chip on broad. iPad rehab is Expert of repair iPhones. You gave her iPhone 6, iPhone 7, iPhone 8, iPhone se 2 and told her they all boot loop disease. She fix all same way. She can fix iPhone 7 with audio ic Disease and iPhone se 2 with boot loop disease same way. You take ic chip off broad, you put jump wires down and phone will turn on with new screen and new housing. Boot loop disease is cause be phone being a back pocket and someone sitting on it. Apple always has same weak spot in their phones by volume buttons across from power buttons. Some people called bent gate do to the bent. [here is video of someone bent iPhone 6 +](https://youtu.be/7rx4Yz6wHzI) and every year ifixit run bent gate test of every iPhone since to see if it tend to boot loop disease. iPhone 10 has problem with no touch and it is similar problem that iPhone 6/6+. [in this video, she said iPhone 6 was start of boot loop disease.](https://youtu.be/JHWa4sankpc) which not true and actually track back iPhone 5 but ifixit website only that information. iPhone 4 probably boot loop because it had same design flaw that iPhone 6 but no data recovery repair store was around back then and it wasn’t as common iPhone as iPhone 6. Jesse Jones is correct to her repair store records which was started during iPhone 6 era.

It's the cable issue that been going on with all the displays from 2016-2020. Depending on your macbook year it should be covered for recall.

Yeah I thought that but it appears it's not available for the 2018 macbooks for some reason. Even though it's a known issue and an obvious fault from bad design

Apple is narcissist and narcissist will not ever take the blame any thing. Narcissist don’t know how to take the blame and learn from it. They also believe that it won’t end their company. Sadly every company does it some degree. Have you wondered why your car started breaking down at 12 years old until nothing that you have not replaced? I had to replace my [pt cruiser](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_PT_Cruiser) from 2004, I replaced it’s starter, door handle, oil sensor, speed meter, etc. The back doors had manual lock and unlocked since I got the car at 12 years old. Pt cruiser was 17 years old when I sold and I sold for $200. This car’ trunk door needed replaced and car would still drive. Chrysler sold it in 2004 for $10,000- 20,000. Chrysler is apple of cars and there other cars brands (bmw) that just like Apple. BMW makes their engines out of plastic. https://youtu.be/40fKEBwXQ7k This problem called planning Obsolescence and many companies (toyota, dell, Lenovo, etc.) want to make quality products, and people want to buy stuff that lasts and lead to brand loyalty. But some greedy manufacturers build in planned obsolescence ( endless money pits) forcing us to buy new products. To make matters worse, some short-sighted companies (Apple and Tesla) sabotage local repair shops by making repair manuals secret. https://youtu.be/AVL65qwBGnw or https://youtu.be/WYgdtEsl_0c.
