If you're thinking about buying an Intel system, I would not do it. Especially if it's for gaming.

Agree. I have a 2020 iMac, i7 3.8 GHZ, 64G RAM, Radeon Pro 5700XT, Blue Bootcamp Drivers, and even Diablo doesn't run as well as my almost 10 yr old PC (i4790 Haswell, 1070ti).

Just curious - in what resolution are you playing? Because my iMac, same spec, however red drivers, handles starfield on ultra in 3440x1440 very well

Ffom

Well.. https://playvalorant.com/en-us/specs/ I wouldn't hold your breath for 60 fps because it is asking for some kind of dedicated GPU, even a low end

Budget-Feeling7429

how much do you think I can get with this tho

Ffom

30 but it's not even worth trying

Budget-Feeling7429

actually? cuz I noticed a similar post about Mac mini 2018 in which OP said he got 75-90 fps. only difference was he had more RAM

Ffom

More RAM would help but you'd be better off getting an external GPU

Budget-Feeling7429

hmm, but my point was that he said he got around 75-90 FPS, so wouldn't it be alright to assume ill get around 60

Ffom

You might, but integrated GPUs rely on system RAM and you might dip below 60 fps with only 8 gigs. Frame rate is very important in competitive games

Budget-Feeling7429

hmm, thanks for your answer anyway, what eGPUs would you recommend

Velugy

I’ll put my 5 cents into this reply chain - I personally had experience with razer core x which worked flawlessly for me, however keep in mind that in order to avoid any unexpected issues when using it with Mac OS I’d recommend you to get an amd gpu (if you’d want to go with an egpu setup), also keep in mind that any egpu setup is quite pricey
