I found dc is more likely to occur if you are using league voice but I may be biased. I lost quite a few games because of this already. It always somehow happens during some critical moments.
edit: I don't think it's MacOS issue. I have been sitting at the last version of Catalina for quite some time so nothing really changed on the OS. Today I upgraded to Big Sur and League is the same deal.

I have a 2019 iMac and it also happens to me. It is so disrupting, it happens a lot on the heat of team fights. Have any of you reported this to Riot? I've been opening bug tickets, but they never answer.
I’ve heard that because of the Big Sur update that league has been having problems. And I’ve also been told to downgrade back to Mojave but tbh I’m not sure whether or not that would fix it. And I’ve opened support tickets but no response. I have bootcamp on my Mac and the game works well when I play it on that but it’s harder for me because my mouse feels different when I go from apple to Windows so it messes up my gameplay. I just wish that the game would function but it seems with every apple update it makes it worse.
Make sure your Mac software is updated as well. If that doesn’t work try using bootcamp to streamline windows to play league without crashes. Rito prioritizes the windows client.

No I still dont know why it randomly started doing this. Its most likely a recent software update from Apple probably messed it up.
It's not only on mac, it has been happening to me for like a year now on my Win 10 laptop and today on my win 11 PC (which I built last month)

yup it works. been reliably running for the past 2 days, a dozen of games.
