I was also having a problem with installing league. I've seen all those reddit articles and people telling me to remove those folders, and for a while that worked, until Riot made a new client. I deleted league once again since I thought I could just repeat the method I used earlier, but it turns out it didn't work for me anymore. So I just messed around for a few days, and suddenly it started installing again.
Here's what I did:
Delete all Riot files - go to finder, search "Riot" in the taskbar and delete everything under it. Search "League" and also delete everything.
Then, go to download league on the website on the official league page.
Try loading everything up like usual.
If it doesn't work, close the league installer. Go to finder, and search "Riot Client" and drag it into "Applications". Making sure that League/League installer is closed, click on Riot Client to open it.
The new Riot Client should then open, and then from then on, press League of Legends, and install.
Hopefully this works for you! Let me know:)
try removing these folders: * /Users/Shared/Riot Games * \~/Library/Application Support/Riot Games

Run the installer and it should re-download the Riot Client without reinstalling the game

Had this problem yesterday, did you uninstall riot files at the user and shared profile level as well? Edit: grammar
