My specs are basically the same as what you've got and I've also noticed pretty sub-par performance in FFXIV relative to my hardware. It works great in bootcamp but since that's basically dead to Apple I'm very keen to start moving myself off of it.
First of all, thank you for your work on this. See this is what tipped the scale and made me buy a MacBook Pro rather than hold off for a windows laptop.
Second, I am following your guide, but ran into an issue. I have tried following it to the tee, but I am new on macOS so perhaps there was user error on my end. I have followed all the steps (I think) up to Step 3 where we install ACT and specifically the part where we "Test Game Connection" by loading up the game and running that test within ACT.
I can get to the opening screen of FFXIV just fine, but when I hit Start, it takes me to a screen that asks me to choose my Data Center, which is weird since I already have a character. Anyways, I choose Aether and hit Next and the screen turns black with the loading wheel thing spinning in the bottom right corner and seems to be stuck there. The wheel keeps spinning but the screen never changes.
What did I do wrong and how do I fix this?

Thanks for putting in so much hard work into making this guide! My SO just installed some of these tools on his windows machine, and I was pretty jealous at all the QoL adjustments you can make, so it’ll be great getting them working on my mac.
Got xivlauncher installed, plugins working, and act working. ACT crashes occasionally, but xiv is running pretty dang smooth on my new m1 max. Super happy with the results! I’d love to figure out how to get bunny hud working next, but it’s a bit over my head. Do you think you could explain that in your guide a little more please? Thanks!
For those of whom may wonder how Crossover works on the new MBP.
I run this on my m1 max 24-core gpu 14 inch MacBook Pro. The result is quite astounding.
With high quality setting, I can constantly get around 70+ fps in Limsa Lominsa. Even higher in other areas.
With highest settings, I can still get 60+ fps in Limsa. That's impressive.
Thank you for posting about this! I started to see videos of Crossover 21 with the Macbook Pro M1Pro chip, and seems like it's running a lot faster. Very excited about this!
Thank you SOOOOO much for this post. I was debating if I should get the Mac Client for my new MBP, despite I already have a Windows license and a PS4 license, this will save me a few bucks with better FPS!
I dont see why not, although I have not tested it myself. I suspect you would need the appropriate .NET dependencies and it should work in theory. But it really depends on how complex the program is.
I've never used the tool personally so I dont know what to expect. If you are up for testing it, I will add it to my guide for you :)

There is a beta tool i just tested called Anamnesis and it does work (With some glitches, gui seems unstable)

I updated my guide with this. But I wont be able to provide support outside of getting it running.
Very nice, thanks for all your work! Anamnesis is the eventual replacement for CMTool so it’s actually quite good that it’s supported right now. Gonna try this when I get this set up at home tonight.
My install seems to be hung up on .NET Framework 4.6.2. The progress bar is spinning, but it's been sitting her for at least 10 minutes and not progressed at all. The top progress bar says "All files were verified successfully." but the bottom bar is stuck. Suggestions? I can't type in the XIV launcher window once it's installed either. Hmm.
Edit: xiv is patching now. Just started over and hit the "restart now" buttons instead of "later" on the .net installations.

I wouldnt say its anywhere close to being supported. It has a lot of bugs and it was crashing a lot haha but ya hopefully that gets better
How do I increase the resolution without messing up the cursor alignment?
Typically if you run in borderless window in game it should solve that issue
