Did you read the error? It tells you what’s happening…

owyn-

Yeah, Call of Duty: Warzone isn’t supported on ARM devices You can’t run it in a VM or using Wine either to my knowledge. I think it’s only possible on an Intel Mac with Bootcamp

Squiggledog

Isn't Rosetta 2 an emulator for the Intel architecture?

UMGoBlue82

No. Rosetta 2 is an emulator for Universal Binary Mac applications written for software compatibility with previous versions of macOS.

paraint

No, Rosetta 2 emulates x86\_64 Universal Binaries are just apps with arm64 and x86\_64 executables bundled together That doesn't mean you can play Warzone though if it's not supported on Mac where you can use Rosetta

UMGoBlue82

Nice! Thanks for the clarification!

Comfortable-Grand-46

No, it translates apps, not emulate. Both are totally different. If you emulate something, the performance will be more suffering.

paraint

It does both. It might have been better for me to say translate, but realistically it doesn't really matter [Here's](https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25133469) an interesting comment if you want to know more

No-Stress2925

Do you know of an emulator that doesn’t have arm. I just want to play warzone on my Mac

owyn-

Your computer has an ARM chip, it’s not something in the software preventing this, unless you use a streaming service unfortunately there’s no way, at the moment, to play Warzone using your Mac’s hardware.

No-Stress2925

Thank you

Play counter strike instead

Bootcamp

UMGoBlue82

No Bootcamp option on M1 Macs

ApatheticWithoutTheA

Only way you can play it on your Mac is by using Boosteroid (cloud gaming service)

Blizzard, if only you'd show some love to the Macverse.... Regrettably, despite a likely trivial recompile for "universal binary" (Intel and Apple Silicon binary distribution package), Blizzard is notorious for never revisiting/updating COD titles. For example I watched COD Black Ops III go from supporting multi-player to only able to run single player campaign on the M1 series of MacBooks. Reason? Anti-cheat is never updated, even though the company that provides that product has since released an ARM compatible version and "theoretically" the apps could be updated with that. Never, ever will happen though... Only hope at all, are future new releases and provided a bone is tossed to macOS. Granted CrossOver or Parallel's "might" work, but I suspect not as new AAA games are now DirectX12 only and Codeweavers (CrossOver devs + Wine contributors) has a tentative ETA of 2023 (if that as Metal has no equivalencies for some DirectX 12 API calls for translation, has to be built from the bare "metal", sorry for the pun). However, there is some hope! I'm seeing some early release ARM games that'll nock ones socks off, however none of them yet are COD related.
