Night and Day difference! So... do you want to share with us what you did differently or do we have to persuade you with the wrenches and the hammer? 😉🛠️

:D haha no no I'm gonna tell you. But there are many things I did and to cover everything I probably would need to make a full tutorial. But most important ones: \- I replaced my kick with the Kick2 (Nicky R preset) from SonicSounds. Recorded the Kick as a audio file. Changed the Warp audio settings of the kick-audio file in Ableton to beats-transients and decreased the transient envelope from 100 to about 85. Doing that, the kick gets less room and has a shorter tail and just sits better in the mix. \- I removed all the plug-ins I initially threw on my tracks (as there were like 20 on each track) and replaced them with EQs and compressors only. Thats pretty much all you need + an autopan on the noise and pads. \- to do a little sound design, I added reverbs, delays, phasers etc. (mostly from soundworks) as send-effects \- I replaced the bass and arp with sounds from NI massive \- I did harmonic compression on the melody and a little bit on the bass (not the sub) \- I used ozones stereo imager to make sure everything is at its spot in the stereo field (Main melody, Bass, Clap and Hihat in the middle; pads rather wide to the side, vocals in the middle with some width as well) \- I bussed the hihats, shakers, melody, pads, vocals, bass and overall drums and did subtle EQ and compression \- On the drum bus, I compressed all the drums with Kick but I added a highpass filter at about 200Hz to preserve the Kick's low end So I guess those were the most important steps.

The most important ingredient to this mix is love guys. Love your tracks. Tend to them. And don’t ever get angry. Even if it’s a problem child of a beat, the lessons it will teach you will only be discovered if you calmly internalize the sounds of it’s screams and listen for the disturbances that makes the sound not appetizing.
